RedWolf Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Anybody else watching this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamen_Rider_Decade Premise The story revolves around the nine previous universes of the Heisei Kamen Riders merging into one. To prevent this, Tsukasa Kadoya transforms into Kamen Rider Decade to protect his own dimension by defeating the other Kamen Riders Mind you I'm not a fan of the Hesei era Kamen Riders but of the Showa Era Kamen Rider. So I'm watching this with open eyes without the fanboyism of the previous shows. What attracted me to it is the premise of a Crisis of Infinite Earths storyline. Here's episode 1 though I'm pretty sure you can find a clearer one in Veoh. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tH47sQ0GKso http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fg5poieSgo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YwgcWZGMCc Quote
azrael Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I call it a clever way of celebrating 10 years of Hesei-Riders. Too bad the can't call back all the original actors for the Riders. Quote

And a great way to take advantage of how few people in Japan have probably read Crisis on Infinte Earths, or the current Final Crisis. Quote
areaseven Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Not liking the new Kamen Rider outfit at all, especially the use of pink. Quote

Hikuro Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Sort of sad that it's only going to be a 30 episode series, shortest Kamen Rider series thus far...but maybe that'll make way for a super awesome series next year? Quote
RavenHawk Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Sort of sad that it's only going to be a 30 episode series, shortest Kamen Rider series thus far...but maybe that'll make way for a super awesome series next year? Really? I had just assumed that each one was 20-30 episodes per season, and next season was a new one. I've never really watched more than a random episode here or there, just to explain my ignorance. Somehow, even though I love this kind of stuff animated, the live action just seems too... cartoony, I guess... for me. Plus, to be honest, those cards he uses just make me think of Yugioh. I do love the transforming bikes though. Would love to see more of that. Quote
Hikuro Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Well the whole essence of this show is that Decade steals the power of other riders in a card form. Usually each season lasts between 45-49 episodes depending on what's going on in television or sponsors etc. Decade is to encounter atleast 10 different main riders, Kuuga, Agito, Ryuki, Blade, Kabuto, Den-O, Kiva, etc from the last 10 years of the Hesei rider era...each rider takes atleast 3 episodes starting with Kuuga. And it looks like Decade/Tsukasa if that's his name, travels using backdrops of his grandfathers picture studio...which is kind of cool. Quote

RedWolf Posted February 1, 2009 Author Posted February 1, 2009 3/3 of episode 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8fdIiRsuGk Interesting that there is one rider left to fight Decade after the rider massacre in the prologue. Quote
areaseven Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 It's been revealed that Saban Brands has recently registered the name "Power Rider". Most likely, Saban will adapt Kamen Rider Decade, as that series features a Shinkenger (Power Rangers Samurai) crossover. And most of us remember the last time Saban adapted a Kamen Rider title... areaseven Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 After years of ignoring this show, I decided to check out a few notable episodes. Quite frankly, I don't like Tsukasa at all. He is a pompous, arrogant prick who doesn't deserve to be called a Kamen Rider. If there's any reason for me to watch the whole series, it has to be Natsumi-chan. The Decade/Shinkenger crossover in eps. 24-25 actually worked pretty well - mainly because the Shinkengers are a much more interesting bunch of characters and Decade really needed them to make the show watchable. As with current Kamen Rider and Super Sentai shows, both shows had their movies (Kamen Rider Decade: All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker and Samurai Sentai Shinkenger: The Decisive Battle, respectively) play back-to-back in theaters. Here's a clip of the cast members interacting with the audience between the two movies. Kotoha-chan is so kawaii! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIUcRNSDomI Perhaps the other saving grace of Decade is the return of Tetsuo Kurata as Kotaro Minami/Kamen Rider BLACK/Kamen Rider BLACK RX in eps. 26-27. He hasn't aged well, but it's great to see the original BLACK suit back in action. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKNidQZ8aVI Quote
