Vifam7 Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Amazon Japan doesn't sell toys (which includes plamodels) to overseas customers. Books and DVDs sure but not toys. I forget the reason why. Quote
promethuem5 Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 That's bull... I was just about to ask the same question, as they've got the MG Unicorn Gundam and Shinaju together for only like 7400 yen... Quote
veffidas Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 (edited) Amazon.co.jp's official reason: http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/help/customer/d...;nodeId=1039608 Due to warranty issues and manufacturer restrictions, we are not able to ship all products to all geographical locations. Below are some general guidelines. Please also check the product information pages for any other applicable item-specific shipping restrictions. Health & Beauty, Sports & Outdoor, Toys & Hobbies, software, games, game consoles, Electronics, Home & Kitchen items and adult products can be shipped only to locations within Japan. Books, CDs, DVDs, and videos can be shipped to international addresses. Certain books on religious subjects as well as certain DVDs and videos produced in Japan cannot be shipped to some countries due to customs restrictions. Items of this nature may be canceled from your order, in which case you will be notified by e-mail. International orders shipped via International Express, as well as all domestic orders, cannot be delivered to P.O. boxes. Only orders shipped via International Economy can be delivered to P.O. boxes. You can try (auction) deputy services as well. Most can handle orders through Amazon.co.jp as well. mpchi Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Not to mention Amazon Japan no longer ship things with economy shipping (1500yen & up). They use EMS for all oversea orders now, with a base shipping price of 3000yen & up, depending on how many items you adding to your order. So buying from Amazon Japan is no longer as cheap as it used to, unless you have a big order of multiple books, CDs or DVDs. Quote

Actually, by my calculation, Celga would be cheaper. $12 overhead ($10 Commission, $2 wire transfer) combined with free shipping within Japan from Amazon, and you would be able to choose from various shipping EMS, SAL, etc. Even at their 83 yen to $1 ratio it's cheaper than buying at HLJ's list prices with Amazon.co.jp's 48% off the original item price.
