DarrinG Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Don't like the OD Defender. It's design is subtle and this color scheme hides the details too much. But if I was piloting one into combat I would take this one over the yellow for sure! Quote
logos Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 (edited) 1/60 Yamato Destroid Defender Olive Drab NOOOOOOOOOOO! Does anyone know when this comes on sale? Crap and I was planning on buying a 1/60 VF-1A Max....... maybe I'll do both if the exchange rate improves...... Now what to do with me Yellow defender....... I think I am going to gay that one up and get the rest in OD green. Edited January 19, 2009 by logos Quote
jenius Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Cool, so you'll have your choice between an anime colors set or an Olive Drab set. I'm sticking with anime colors. Quote
505thAirborne Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 1/60 Yamato Destroid Defender Olive Drab I like this color scheme, Looks awesome!!! Wheres the Destroid SPARTAN!!!!!!!! Quote
Vostok 7 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 YES! That's what I was waiting for. OD Tomahawk and OD Defender here I come!! Vostok 7 Quote
Guest sh002 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 these are cool but they would be last on my list of figures to buy after all valkyries are bought. i still have my 1/72 matchbox and exosquad destroids that still display well with my 1/72 valkyries and they will have to suffice for now. don't really need any 1/60 versions at the moment. they are pretty expensive for nontransforming. a light up feature would have been cool. Lonely Soldier Boy Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 (edited) Damn. I was hoping for an all new scheme to drool over or skip altogether, but since I already ordered the Tomahawk OD and seeing just how nice the Defender turned out in OD colors, I'll have to consider if I'll get the whole OD set or not. Edit: Spelling. Edited January 19, 2009 by Lonely Soldier Boy Quote
miriya Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 It is such a shame that I like this so much! Not enough money for everything!!!! Quote
VF-18S Hornet Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Thanks to Lynx7725! I did not know the hips dropped down and that does actually add allot more range of movement. As shown here: Damn that's some fine pose-ability! I couldn't do that with my valks without some kind of support! OMG they look like they're dancing. How'd you do that? Quote
Graham Posted January 20, 2009 Author Posted January 20, 2009 And of course we all know the next version will be the OD Defender with weathering. Graham Quote
Vostok 7 Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Now they just need to make the Cheyenne and Cheyenne II and they'll have made pretty much all the destroids I will buy Vostok 7 Quote
edwin3060 Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Now they just need to make the Cheyenne and Cheyenne II and they'll have made pretty much all the destroids I will buy Vostok 7 And logos can have his dance troupe... The Dancing Destroids! I already have it in my mind, a posey of Destroid's pirouetting gracefully to Sheryl's "Brother Spaceship". Quote
logos Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) Don't laugh.....actually laugh. I'll will do it just to post a photo here when the Spartan comes out! I did try to do something similar with my valks but those novelty Mcdonalds hockey jerseys are just to small for 1/60s. If I had 1/72s I think I could make something work. Tried with the 1/100 I have and it just doesn't work. Edited January 20, 2009 by logos Quote

Vostok 7 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 (edited) Nope. This time it will be khaki green! I think he meant after the OD Green Defender, we'll get a OD Green weathered version, same as the Tomahawk. For those that are counting, that's 4 versions per destroid so far. jenius Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Just an FYI, the Weathering Defender was linked to a page or two back, it's also on Yamato's site. Quote

Guess I just didn't pay attention because it doesn't interest me nearly as much as the OD Defender. Vostok 7 Quote

Project Phoenix Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Maybe we'll see a retired and decorated version from M7 with an aging pilot, kids with balloons, etc. Quote
ron5864 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I would like to see Yamato make the Phalanx since it uses the lower half of the other destroids. The Spartan should be made as well since it was used a lot later on in the TV show. Quote
Graham Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 Phalanx is a definite. Spartan probably not, as it needs completely new tooling, which is expensive and would be a gamble for Yamatyo wheather it would be sell well enough. Graham Quote
Vostok 7 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Anyone with a OD Tomahawk on order with Overdrive? They delayed shipments because supposedly they had a problem with their stock, they're expecting replacements by the end of the week. Just FYI Vostok 7 Quote

UN Spacy Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 No love for the Spartan?!? I'd also hate if they released only three of the four smaller Destroids. Quote

dizman Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 No spartan..... I CALL SHENANIGANS! The only way Yamato can make up for this disgrace is by making a 1/60 VF-4. Quote
505thAirborne Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 No Spartan..... My bad day just got worse. Quote
Vifam7 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Come on folks, have a little faith. If Yamato went through the trouble of making an all new mold for one destroid, and all new upper torsos for others, why wouldn't they make an all new Spartan mold? Granted the Spartan does have less exploitability. But it does have the advantage of having been piloted by Hikaru in 1 episode. Besides, it's not like the Spartan has/needs a complex transformation system. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised to see a 1/60 Spartan come out sometime late this year. Quote
logos Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 No Spartan would suck! That's my favorite one! Anyway I saw that Overdrive has the OD green Defender up for Pre-order now. http://www.over-drive-inc.com/store/produc...c8176a2239bd167 Quote
