Mr March
Yeah, someone posted this in another thread. Sad news. RIP Osamu Ichikawa.
big F
Shame I guess he'll never be able to reprise his role as another Lord Boddole Zer clone.
taksraven
A great pity, fantastic talent. Is he only the second voice actor from the original SDF:M series that has passed away that we know of? Taksraven

taksraven
4th. Him, Britai, Hikaru, and Kaifun. Oh no, its worse than I thought. I knew that Hikaru's voice actor was dead but was unaware of the others. Taksraven Edited January 11, 2009 by taksraven

Taksraven Britai's VA was the first. Seems he died in 1985. And Kaifun's VA was all over the internet, but not as Kaifun's VA. His "big" role was Gundam's Noah Bright. Keith
5th, (while not original Macross) the actress who played Gepelnitch & Sayla in Gundam died before Kaifun. Edited January 13, 2009 by Keith
JB0
5th, (while not original Macross) the actress who played Gepelnitch & Sayla in Gundam died before Kaifun. Then he's still the 4th. "Is he only the second voice actor from the original SDF:M series... " Not that Gepelnitch's death doesn't matter, but... it doesn't count. And I now know what all 5 dead Macross VAs died of(if Wikipedia can be trusted for Eiji Kanie/Britai). ... Okay, I'm falling into creepy stalker fan territory now. I scare me. Hikuro
Yeah Eiji Kanie died shortly after DYRL. And if I remember right, 2 of the Macross related actors/actresses died of Cancer but were still of rather old age.

todd77
Kaifun and Gepelnitch. Lung cancer in both cases. I will always remember Gepelnitch's actress, You Inoue, for her role as Kanuka "shut up!!" Clancy in the Patlabor series.
Gubaba
I will always remember Gepelnitch's actress, You Inoue, for her role as Kanuka "shut up!!" Clancy in the Patlabor series. Really? I think of her first and foremost as Sayla (and Haro!) from Gundam...but then, I found out about her death from Gundam Ace, so I suppose that's to be expected. Well, I was exposed to Patlabor a whole lot earlier than Gundam but it was a welcome surprise for me to hear that familiar voice when I first watched the original Gundam series.
