MACROSS8511 Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 From what I heard, they're spending a lot of their own money for the get together. Among other things, there are plans for t-shirts, flyers, and custom coins all planned for Launch Day. Didn't know a lot of fans were loaded for stuff like that. Were funding the shirts, coins, name badges and event our selfs....I think it might actually be fun, Its a BBQ,Beer, music, some RPG games going, some XBOX and PS2 games going, A few vieos playing, showing a few displays, collectibles....but mostly its about spending time and talking about the mecha. Believe it or not,at least with the group that is trowing the party, there all about Robotech, but at the same time they love the Macross universe. Im into Robotech,yes....but also own and seen many times, DYRL,Macross 7, Macross frontier, Macross zero, and original Super Dimentional Fortress Macross.... If you still want to come, the door is open..... You can find info at www.robotechX.com -under sdf1 launch party. or shoot me an email at MACROSS8511@yahoo.com Quote
Mercurial Morpheus Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Okay, are there still plans for combined shipping on the posters to coincide with this? Quote
UN Spacy Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I'd like to know as well so we can all save on shipping. Quote
Mercurial Morpheus Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) So with the day pretty much upon us, is this still happening or what? The go-kart idea seems plausible, or a meetup in Japantown or something. Any ideas, or are we truly going to lose to the techies. I have no problem having yours shipped here UN Spacy, as I'm in with a friend as is. The only problem would be actually meeting. Edited February 22, 2009 by Mercurial Morpheus Quote
Agent ONE Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I could do the Japantown meet up provided it is earlier in the day. Quote
jenius Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I'm drunk as a skunk, I guess I unintentionally celebrated the launch.... now I'm just trying to stay up as long as possible so I'm less hungover. Looks like we all got good news from both Bandai and Yamato, this was a great day. Quote
Mercurial Morpheus Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Sometime around twoish then? We should be able to make it to the city by then if not sooner. Quote
miriya Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I wish I could join you guys but I have bacterial conjunctivitis and an upper respritory trackt infection. I am headed to the doctor and am so totally bringing my SDF-1 !!!!! Quote
Mercurial Morpheus Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) Well, I just woke up about 30 minutes ago, and my ride (new member Raider 3), won't answer his phone. It takes at least 90 minutes to get to SF proper. So the two idea appears out. Deep apologies to anyone set to go at that time and missed this message. I'll keep trying to get ahold of him since I did tell someone (shadow member Dick Hunter) we'd be up there. EDIT: He finally answered. We should hopefully be leaving within the hour. grapetang Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Hi all, Happy Launch Day!!! I'd love to hang out but I can't make it this round. Japantown, SF is a great idea though. Sushi, mochi, taiyaki, browsing Mikado & Kinokuniya, gawking at the extravagant toy/model prices of that one shop... Have fun! Quote
Valkyrie23 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I'm still at work and I'm down along the peninsula, so I don't think I can make it to JTown in a timely manner. Hopefully next time, we can get things together (and when its sunny). In the meantime, Happy Macross Launch Day! Go SDF-1! Quote
