Jasonc Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 I know these have been put up, but I was cleaning out some of the posters I have stuck in tubing, and put them in the book. So, here's the added ones. One is Robotech, I know, and one isn't directly Macross, but very cool posters. Quote
valkyriepilot Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 (edited) ^ @jasonc: i got a copy of that last poster (VF-1 cutaway schematic), same exact silver lineart on black background. it's a bit more crumpled than yours though. hoping to have it framed sometime so i can put it up properly EDIT: oh yeah, got 2 of the Ishtar posters too, from their respective VF-2SS kits... The poster came from the Gold book, and was in there forever. I have two of the poster, so I decided to open it up, and let the folds relax a bit. Ah, so that poster came from the Gold book, I was wondering where it came from. I got mine from a neighbor in our previous place. He heard that I was a Macross nut, and sold me the poster for PhP 200 (US$1 = PhP35 or somewhere at that rate at that time). Was that a good deal? Assuming it was a legit poster... Quote

So, roughly about $7 USD??? Not bad at all. I like the matte finish on it. I got another poster today at Los Angeles Anime Expo, and may pick up another one. I'll post those up and the Frontier promo poster I just got. Running out of space in my poster book. Quote

Renato Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Jason, those are all amazing, thanks for sharing! Murphy, I have that poster too! Actually, mine is printed on a thick board that I suppose they used for promotional store displays back in the day, the problem is I have no idea where to put it. I have a picture of it in some other thread. Since I just put up my posters with blu-tak, they often fall off. I take that as my cue to rotate them around every so often. Today I swapped out some more, so here's my update: No points for picking the odd one out Quote

It looks like it helps with the ambiance with putting up poster art. When I get my place, I look forward to framing a couple of these posters. Quote

When I get my place, I look forward to framing a couple of these posters. Thanks. It's not really that convenient, though, since the angle makes it easy for the posters to just droop off. BTW I have that Macross Plus poster back in the UK, I love it, most of the Plus ones have this really stylish aesthetic going on. Quote

Here is one for the video release on Yahoo Japan......considerably pricier....but it's the same graphic..... http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b105294746 Any Macross poster experts care to chime in on whether the ebay poster is legit? I went ahead and bought one because it reminded me of this one that I have from the original series: Recent find...... Recent find...... Quote

I haven't seen a double sided poster of that, but if there is one out there, I guess I have another poster to look for. Quote

I noticed a two sided one by xstoys here: http://www.macrosswo...ndpost&p=705343 The one I have is almost the same (it has ads for the 1/72 VF-0S, VF-0S Plushie, 1/48 VF-1A, and two albums at the bottom), and only one sided. nightmareB4macross Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Imai VF-1J poster.... My favorite. You sir, have a very cool collection. It's not only a thowback but a realization of just how big marketing was for to promote Macross. Quote
Jasonc Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Renato, is that a Mikimoto painted version of Mylene? It's very cool. Quote
UN Spacy Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I couldn't say no to this one... ...I've seen em go on Amazon Japan between 800 to 1700 yen. Quote

Jasonc Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Macross 30th Anniversary Fever is still in full swing! http://page15.auctio...tion/t274010269 Saw that poster at anime expo this year, and passed it up. He was selling it for $120, but I'd rather have a DYRL movie poster in that size, or the Pachinko game itself. Quote
