Lightning Posted August 23, 2003 Posted August 23, 2003 Hah! I beat Shin to the first poll on the new boards! anyways, let's cut to the chase.. Which destroid do you (the macross fans) like the most? Quote
Weaseldancer Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 I've always liked the Phalanx. there is just something about massive missile volleys. Quote
Lightning Posted August 24, 2003 Author Posted August 24, 2003 same here, that's why i picked it Quote
TheGoLambo Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 The old Tomahawk of course! One of the first mechs ive ever seen and it's still by far my fave. Quote
JsARCLIGHT Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 The Tammy-hawk gets my vote. It's kind of like the "tank" of the line. Quote
GreenGuy42 Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 New Destroid, there's NOTHING like dual chainguns Quote
drifand Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 The Tomahawk is probably the most interesting with its aggressive design and weapons load. Somehow, I get the feeling if the smaller destroids are released, the Tomahawk won't be the first. The first may be Defender (nice but not the most popular), followed by the Phalanx (funky but still cool), the Spartan (maybe the least popular?) and then the Tomahawk. Quote
Druna Skass Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 (edited) Definatly the walking battleship called the Monster. I just love how they have it breaks the deck plating when it walks in the show... Edited August 24, 2003 by Druna Skass Quote
Blaine23 Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 It's all about the Monster. I loved the design even before I realized how freaking huge it is. Quote
Isamu Atreides 86 Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 monster, baby! even though it got dealt with by the YF-19! Quote
Myersjessee Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 Tomohawk..then Phalanx. Is the Konig Monster a Destroid? Quote
Commander McBride Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 (edited) The Armored Core, I mean, new destroid. Edited August 24, 2003 by Commander McBride Quote
Hoptimus Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 The Tomahawk. I use to play as a Detroid pilot in the Robotech/Macross RPG from Pallidium books and it was a blast to kick ass with that mech. Quote
Gabe Q Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 The poor defender! It is my second favorite. The Monster is my fav... That is some serious heavy artillery. Quote
UN Spacy Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 I picked the one mecha that I've never seen get beaten (except in Macross Plus.....that wasn't fair). The MONSTER. Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 If I have to be in the front lines, I might as well be in the biggest tank of 'em all. One more vote for the Monster. Quote
Arrowyn Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 The Tomahawk. I use to play as a Detroid pilot in the Robotech/Macross RPG from Pallidium books and it was a blast to kick ass with that mech. That rocks! I picked the Tomohawk. The only design I never really liked was the Spartan, which wasn't one of the choices anyway. Quote
007-vf1 Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 (edited) Where's the Spartan?? after the monster is my fav... The Spartan It is the only mecha to achieve hand to hand combat and use hand weapons after a battroid; is slow but it makes it up with is missile load.. Edited August 24, 2003 by 007-vf1 Quote
ewilen Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 Another vote for the Tomahawk. If I could vote a second choice it would be the Defender--nice AA mech design. Quote
Lightning Posted August 24, 2003 Author Posted August 24, 2003 Where's destroid spartan? I'm sorry, i forgot about it Quote
GobotFool Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 Man the spartan gets no love, and rightfully so, it sticks out like a sore thumb amoung the others. All the destroids look so realistic, the spartan on the other hand kinda looks odd....... <_ Quote
Mechafan Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 I vote for the Defender because it was the fastest. Quote
mechatek Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 There's just something about the Tomahawk, the Monster is a close second. Still waiting for the Yamato 1/60 destroids annoucement. Quote
vf1_soulja Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 (edited) Gotta vote for the Big Bad@ss Monster Edited August 24, 2003 by vf1_soulja Quote
Unknown Target Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 (edited) The Defender. Human-like arms and missle pods are the best EDIT: Whoops, I was thinking of the Spartan Oh, well, Defender still gets my vote on this list. But you should really add the spartan in Edited August 24, 2003 by Unknown Target Quote
Uxi Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 Phalanx ... well I actually like the Phalanx II from Macross II the best, but the Monster is a close second followed by the original Phalanx. I remember drooling and begging my friend to find me a Phalanx toy in Japan, if they had one, in addition to a VF-2SS. Sadly, looks like there never was... hopefully Yamato will one day do an MII series of valkyries, destroids, and enemy mecha... (Heh, still waiting for Macross or DYRL destroids). Quote
Abombz!! Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 The Monster Konig is the best looking destroid.... but then again its a hybrid. I would say the Mac Zero and the other destroid that resembles it. Quote

There were at least 3 Destroid Phalanx toys from the 80's. All by Takatoku Toys: Easiest to find: 1/144 scale diecast Mecha Collection Series Nicest/most expensive: 1/100 Conversion Kit (1 engine wih armor for 3 Destroids) Cutest: Sofubi version (soft vinyl figure with almost no articulation) You just gotta look for them! Quote
Bub Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 Abstaining...... It's either because I not really a fan destroids or they all look, somewhat, alike to me. I love to be in the sky/space. Quote
