Remko Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 The new VF-0C from Hasegawa has just been released and is in stock with hlj.com now for the nice price of € 23,65 euro's. The model looks very interesting, and the site included some excellent photo's: But the box art is the most interesting. Two VF-0C's flying over a.... Daedalus!! Anyway, if anyone hew ordered this model, and has it finished, let me know, as I'd really like to get this one myself as well! Quote
505thAirborne Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 As soon as i have some extra $$$ this is my next purchase, hands down awesome!! Both the design & paint scheme!!! Quote
electric indigo Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 It would be nice if some could scan the glorious boxart. Quote
MechTech Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I second that! I like that little picture of the "boat" at the bottom - MT Quote
Remko Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 I second that! I like that little picture of the "boat" at the bottom - MT Me too!! Anyway, there's something peculiar about this plane. It's an original design, not a canon design. The VF-0C is a single seat fighter, while the delta winged variant seen in the Macross Zero OVA was a two seat fighter. Interesting. Is this common practice amongst Macross kits? Quote
Grayson72 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Well it seems to be for the Mac zero stuff, the VF-0B was a two seater version of the normal sweep wing VF-0 that was never seen in the series. Quote

Excillon Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I like this look more than their other newer Mac 0 kits. I'd rather have an 0A rerelease though. Quote

My wallet is on strike right now, but the VF-0C is a definite on my list. Also get the VF-0B if you don't have one yet, I have 3, their amazing!! Quote

Holy crap does it look nice - it's a big honkin' piece of styrene with very, very fine engraved panel lines. Decals are sharp. I want to finish it as a heavily loaded, Marine ground attack aircraft weathered to the gills. It will be sweet. Kenny Quote
505thAirborne Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 (edited) Thats awesome. I did one of my VF-0B's as a MARINE squadron and the other in a F-14 VF-2 Bounty Hunters color scheme!! Although I need to get some weapons kits (missiles & bombs) for them!! I have the pictures some where..... Edited January 16, 2009 by 505thAirborne Quote

As soon as it arrives I'll post the box art some pics of the contents -John The box arrived today, pics coming soon. But here's a quick sprue breakdown: Based on the sprue codes, its the wings of the VF-0D with a single seater nose. The munitions are from the VF-0A/B w/Ghost. So from a "limited edition" standpoint, the decals are the premium item. The squadron markings are from the "SLV-III Daedalus" More later. Quote

honkhet Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 by the way, may i ask if the landing gear of these hasegawa kits are able to be removed/retracted and the landing gear covers folded in? or do the landing gears always have to stay on? Quote
williwoods Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 unless you do some serious mods....no the landing gear will not retract, its a either they are on or off scenario. If you want retracting gear get a yamato or chunky monkey. Quote
honkhet Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 i dont mind if they can be removed, but can the covers also be folded into place? or do we have seperate parts for "folded" landing covers ala vf-25 model kit? i was just concerned as to whether the landing gear needs to be always deployed i PERFECTLY UNDERSTAND this is a model kit. anyway thanks for your reply. Everything is fixed. It, like the other Hasegawa Valkyrie fighters, are traditional styrene plastic model kits. The undercarriage is a one-way deal. You build the model with it up or down. I hope this helps you out. Kenny Quote
honkhet Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 i noticed that they do provided "opened" landing bay covers, but do they provide "closed" landing bay covers as well? i was wondering if i could put hasegawa model on a display stand, without landing gears deployed, and the landing bays covers closed... I haven't bought any of the VF-0 kits but if they are anything like the VF-1's then the answer is -No-. If you want the landing gear bays closed you will have to mod the kit parts to do so, or putty over the holes sand and re-scribe the panel detail. Not really that difficult to do, but trickier than if there were closed gear bays provided. Quote
