nylcbv Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 It was my first big custom's project... First Valk, the VF-1A "Max Sterling"... Quote
nylcbv Posted December 25, 2008 Author Posted December 25, 2008 The next one is the VF-1A "Ben Dixon"... Quote
anime52k8 Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 the kakizaki -1A looks great. the max is nice but I think the blue is a little shiny, a bit of a matte clear would probably be good, but great job overall. Quote
nylcbv Posted December 26, 2008 Author Posted December 26, 2008 Yes, but the flash gives more shiny's effect than reality... Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 the Kakizaki 1A looks really good, I agree, the Max Jenius blue looks a little off...maybe it is the flash, those type of colors are better appreciated with good lighting than the ultra bright detail killing flash of digicams great talent man Quote
nylcbv Posted December 26, 2008 Author Posted December 26, 2008 Here's pictures with natural lighting... It's better, no? ... Quote
vf-1aace Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Did you custom paint the Yamato Valkyries? These are the toys right? Good job. Quote
Hikuro Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Yeah those are the new 1/60 scale VF-1's. Cool job though, just missing the VF-1J to make it a true Vermillion Squad, since there was no more Vermillion unit once Hikaru became Skull Leader Still though good job overall, I don't have the balls to do that to 150 dollar toys, espically two of them. Quote
nylcbv Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 I have the VF-1J "Hikaru" but I wait for flexi display for various poses. ... The photos will follow... Sorry for the pilots of the VF-1A who are in dress DYRL... I'm not enough endowed to make them of origin... Quote
ichiboto2 Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 beautiful! mind if I ask you what you used to strip the factory paint off? Quote
nylcbv Posted December 29, 2008 Author Posted December 29, 2008 I sanded with the grain 1000 under the water... Easy to make Quote
nylcbv Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 I had promised it, here is the squadron "Vermillion" of the lieutenant H.Hichijo and his ailliers both M.Jenius and Kakizaki And for the fun... Quote
regult Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 if you dare to say Ben Dixon, Max Sterling or...OMG!!Rick Hunter, horrible things will happen to you. You'll have to customize VF-1s for every member of the forum to break the curse brought by the Macross Gods. Quote
Javabean Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Finally I get to see a proper Vermillon squadron. Great works there & nice subtle weathering you hv there. I'm planning to order some flexi-stands. What sizes did you use here, is it 2.5" or 4"? Quote

You'll have to customize VF-1s for every member of the forum to break the curse brought by the Macross Gods. WHAT? The curse of the Macross Gods is always on me? Nevertheless I made a "mea culpa" and I sacrificed one of my dogs to calm their anger! Joked enough, but I learn to become a true fan. I am a novice in my collection of VF (only 1 year when I collect toys Macross) but I like the world of Macross since I saw the series in 1985. Please, have a little of indulgence to a fan who does not still know all the subtleties... I'm planning to order some flexi-stands. What sizes did you use here, is it 2.5" or 4"? The Macross Gods say they are not pleased. Your sacrifice of a small dog is not accepted. You must... Sacrifice your camera's memory space with pictures of more customs. Quote

Quote
Bri Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Great looking customs. Were you able to buy those flexi-displays somewhere in Europe? I'm planning to buy a few but ordering them in from the States might get a tad expensive. Quote

nylcbv Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 Here is photos of the squad "Vermillion"... These pictures remind me the episode when Hikaru makes its first one taken out in the ring of asteroids of Saturn. Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Those look incredible. What's next? Quote
optimator88 Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 My girlfriend keeps telling me I shouldn't get so excited over "toy robot photos", but I can't help it. Those are beautiful. MORE PHOTOS with varied lighting! Quote
hal9000 Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Awesome shots and awesome customs, you should put them in the strike a pose thread. Optimator88 my girl tells me the same thing. Quote
Javabean Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 (edited) Look great! Maybe you shud hang some rocks around to simulate asteroids Edited February 9, 2009 by Javabean Quote

nylcbv Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 Here's my VF-1A Milia "TV version"... I know that it has never existed but I like this custom ...It is maybe an old VF-1A by waiting for her new "Milia"VF-1J Quote
gwfalcon Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 (edited) Owesome custom, man! But , pay attention to the string, if hanging the vf too long might be broken The attached pic is a bit different, can someone tell me where hehehe!!! Edited April 10, 2009 by gwfalcon Quote

Octane Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 (edited) I like the VF-1A's. I can understand the logic behind painting one red. What the big deal? It isn't like there was a shortage of the brown ones, right? I am generally not a fan of poor weathering jobs. Yours look good, but do the heat shields look too white to anyone else? But the plane number bothers me. Didn't Kakikazi have VF-013, a green trim VF-1A? Also, I have some foam "rocks" if you do want to do the asteroid thing. LMK Edited April 11, 2009 by Octane Quote
