David Hingtgen Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Was going to start this earlier but had some delays. Anyways---go ahead and post pics of your gifts, opened or unopened, even if they happen to be recent birthday gifts. (I knew a girl in elementary school whose birthday was Christmas--I always thought that must suck gift-wise because there's no way they'd ever get double the amount to "make up for" their 2 main gift-receiving days being combined) I like matching paper/bows to the gift, but sometimes that's very hard and it's easier to just use whatever. Left is a gunmetal PS3 (I've never found gunmetal or steel paper), right is Masterpiece Thundercracker. (metallic blue's hard to find too). (MP TC isn't an Xmas gift, it just happened to arrive this week so I had it wrapped anyways and will wait to open it) I still have the purplish-fuscia paper from my Sv-51 Nora, don't know what I'll use it for. It'd be great for a VF-27 Brera, but if they ever make a VF-27 I'm buying a Grace green one. ::edit:: Hmmn, the blue bow photographed funny--it's actually embossed all over with fine lines making it seem to glitter, and it's actually a much brighter blue than the paper---but it looks smooth and dark in the pic. (best I could do to match the metallic blue of Thundercracker) Quote
VFTF1 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Yeah... I don't even have a tree up Gonna go outside and cut one down tomorrow (and before any of you city-dwelling nature lovers starts screamin' - my family have planted over 200 trees on our farm over the past ten years, and we traditionally cut one small one down to use as a Christmas tree every year). As for presents - I think my mom got me one of those little USBs with lots of Giga bytes on it. My girlfriend has promised to get me something anime/giant robot related on our trip to Berlin for New Years And I got myself The Groxier X chogokin from Yamato - but it'll probably arive in late January. And finally - my dog (a beagle), Oz, was BORN on December 25th - on Christmas day - so above all we'll have plenty of bones under the tree for him Merry Xmas and a happy new year and a happy non-dimmensional faith-neutral holiday to all the rest (and belated happy Hanuka) and happy whatever I missed And may Macrosswold live long and prosper! anime52k8 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 (edited) MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! holly crap, is it really only a couple days from Christmas?!? I've been so busy with school I hardly had time to notice. I don't know if I've gotten any wrapped gifts yet, haven't checked. (tree's in the upstairs room, which is cold as all hell.) I got a copy of adobe CS3 design premium around September and CoD:WaW the week it came out and that counted as my Christmas gift from my parents, also my mom was planing on giving me a few disney pins wrapped on Christmas, but so far my dad's managed to spoil every christmas gift in the house. also I ordered a Queens Blade Nanael figure for myself but considering its been in transit for 3 weeks now from HLJ I'm beginning to think the postal service lost it. if it's not here by the end of the month I'm going to contact them. anyone know how HLJ is about replacing/refunding for lost/damaged goods? :EDIT: lucky me, my figure final arrived today! miriya Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 wow pete it almost sounds as if you have taken on the character of Ali-G. But I thought he was from Kazikstan not Poland? Quote
VFTF1 Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Actually, Ali G is from Staines in the You K - that's Union Kingsdum or sum'tin. And if yous be followin' the telly then theys been sayin 2 million Polish people been comin to the You K in the past like five days or centuries or whatever. Borat be from Kazahastan Also - pistacho nuts induce hallucinations that incline people towards talking like Ali G. It's a proven fact. Word! Pete Quote

sqidd Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Okaaaaay. Its not for shooting rabbits or foxes so what is it good for? Taksraven I will be trying it in the "stock gun" classes at pistol shoots and will see if I can shoot better with it than the current gun I use (H&K USP45 Tactical). I may just carry it though (I'm legal), it's pretty handy for bad guys too Quote

I thought about getting the f4, but I might regret not having the extra two stops because I plan to take pics of car races with it and it can get pretty dark and cloudy over here, even during summer. I might get the 50mm 1.8 too. Nothing beats a prime lens in IQ. Back on topic. Here's what I got myself. Quote
Chowser Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Nice HK there squidd! Been debating on the 45 or 45C myself. I'm such a dork! Quote
