hirohawa Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 Has anyone hear tried this? I was thinking of using future and then giving it a dull coat but do not want to ruin the stickers. Thanks Steve Quote
EXO Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 Hey Steve! Isn't there something you can use that would be more of a one shot spray? For protection and the dull coat? Hopefully more knowledgable people can help you out... Quote
Montarvillois Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 I dont know if a clearcoat is really needed, the stickers look like they will hold pretty good if applied correctly and away from edges. I personaly think that adding a clear coat may cause more damage than good since a lot of parts have friction and the clearcoat could peel and look funny after a while. Quote
Hurin Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 I think he wants to do it to reduce the shininess. That is the only real (unavoidable) flaw in these stickers. If the light hits them right, they shine. H Quote
hirohawa Posted November 6, 2003 Author Posted November 6, 2003 Also I am mixing and matching between Devin's decals and Takatoys stickers - a clearcoat is neccasarry to even out the edges and so everything will have the same uniformity in sheen. I have run a test with a Krylon UV resistant Acrylic Matte Finish and will see how it turns out. Quote

Skull-1 Posted November 7, 2003 Posted November 7, 2003 I would almost suggest spraying the stickers and decals with a dull finish before application. Just don't use Testors...it yellows. Quote
wm cheng Posted November 7, 2003 Posted November 7, 2003 I have used ModelMaster Acryl clear coats on both anasazi's waterslide decals and the Yamato supplied stickers, and it seems to work great. It correctly evens the sheen on both the painted, plastic and stickered surfaces. It hasn't scratched off yet- but I don't transform them too often. Quote
