SchizophrenicMC Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Well, you've 3-upped me; I have no Macross figures, I have no shelf, and I have no posters... Looks awesome, man. Keep up the spending, and you'll have to photograph your collection later. Quote
Agent-GHQ Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 An 80s kids would go for the old school stuff for its nostalgic effect. I take it you're a 90s kid? Regardless, congrats dude and we do have a Valkaholic support group. Quote
SilentCrossHairs Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 (edited) Dam good first valk The addiction will be hard to break my friend. Yamato toys is a potent drug. Edited December 13, 2008 by SilentCrossHairs Quote

SilentCrossHairs Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 VA I say hell no Yamato.........if loving you is wrong....I don't wanna be right Quote
Falcon 1 Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Very nice display micheal. I especially like the way you accented the display by adding posters... Really brings it out. Good luck with the collection mate! Quote
VFTF1 Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Congrats! I always considered the 1/60 YF-19 to be the first REAL Yamato figure I bought. Earlier, I did get the 1/72 YF-21, VF-11B and 1/60 v.1 VE-1 - but I never really felt as blown away as when I opend the 1/60 YF-19 and that really started me down the road of collecting Yamato with a passion:) Also - congrats on a lovely glass display stand! It's good to see that you're a person who prepares ahead. Pete Quote
crescens Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Congratulations~! Not so long ago i also bought my first one Welcome to the club Now you'll be only thinking to get more and more of Yammies Quote
ff95gj Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Is that display stand from Ikea? I have one that looks almost identical. Actually, I don't have it. My wife does. So my VF-1s are still sitting in the boxes, except for 2 who stand beside my computer desk (look here! I'm talking about you guys). Quote
jedimech Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Welcome Micheal, do keep us updated with photos of the weathered version of VF-1S on your display shelf!! Cheers!! Quote
micheal Posted December 13, 2008 Author Posted December 13, 2008 thanks for the comments guys, and yes the stand is an ikea detolf. Quote
ssorcam Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I also just started collecting these Macross figures about a month ago and it is an addiction! I feel sorry for crack addicts. I have been a long time fan and I wish I kept my toys from the 80's but these Yamato figures are becoming a good replacement. I have already spent almost couple thousand on most of these figures but it's woth it. I bought a few of these from members of MW and I am still ictching for more. Please someone help me with this addiction Quote

edwin3060 Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 Haha wow... just amazing! I'm kinda resisting getting any 1/48s because I'm already collecting in 3 scales-- the 1/60s, 1/72 model kits (which fits in so nicely with my older fighter models that I just can't give it up, and I find some pleasure in building) and the Bandai 1/100s when they come out (because of the variety that will be available) Quote

edwin3060 Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 i would if i could figure out how to install them, and what type of battery does the fold booster take? They use 3 x L44 batteries-- the same kind that is used in Scientific calculators. You should be able to get it at any stationery store. There are covers on the dorsal section of the YF-19 that you have to pull out, then the supports for the fold boosters should fit right in! Quote
Excillon Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 The fold booster is easy to put on, and makes fighter mode look so good. You have excellent taste by the way, not only in your choice of valks but your display. Well done! Quote
