Blaine23 Posted January 9, 2004 Posted January 9, 2004 Poor Chase. I've only seen parts of the episode when I taped it Tuesday (I saw Chase getting beaten up), but the situation that Chase put himself in and the danger he has put Jack, other CTU agents, and even national secuirty in is another example of why YOU-MUST-OBEY-YOUR-ORDERS, especially in this line of work. i kinda hope he gets the soldering iron treatment jack got last season. Dude... can we really expect Chase to understand how to follow orders when he was TRAINED BY JACK BAUER? In fact... everyone at CTU is easily the most insubordinate group of employees on Earth... much less for Government Security work. Aside from Jack, whom we can expect to be a rogue, 'cause that just kinda his thing... you've got all of them lying to the president, half the place is moles or enemy agents, and acting superior officers suffering from heroin addiction, gunshot wounds, or radiation sickness. In the first season, Tony was so suspicious of everything that his boss did that I wondered why the guy hadn't gotten fired yet. Jack: Get me that file on Victor Drazen, Tony. Tony: Why? What kind of game are you playing, Jack?!? Jack: Um... I just need to read the file. Can you get it please? Tony: I will... this time. But I'm on to you Jack... watch your back. 'Cause I'm on you... every step.. in fact, I'll - Jack: The file? Could you get it? Please? Tony: Okey-dokey. Okay, maybe it wasn't exactly like that... but aren't these people supposed to follow their superior officers? Quote
UN Spacy Posted January 14, 2004 Author Posted January 14, 2004 Dude... can we really expect Chase to understand how to follow orders when he was TRAINED BY JACK BAUER?In fact... everyone at CTU is easily the most insubordinate group of employees on Earth... ...and I can see why they're making Chase to be the second coming of JACK BAUER. SPOILERS. Chase got REALLY whopped on last night. A gunshot point blank range to his left (was it his shooting) hand......and he also cauterized his own wound. OUCH!!!!! Too bad that whats her name died saving her family (which was KINDA unecessary because there was NO initial harm to them). Don't get me started about the incompetence of CTU. Chloe her baby need to be put on bathroom duty.......... The episode ending kind of weakly with Jack KISSING Nina Meyers. I still hate the President's storyline. Quote
Majestic Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 SPOILERS Chase is now hardcore. I have newfound respect for his character. The part where Chase escaped with the wife of the druglord and her father and son was pretty well done, edge-of-your-seat. Too bad she got capped in the process. But she was getting irritating anyway. She also looked like a Jim Hensen creation. Quote
EXO Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 Yeah what's the deal with the lame side story lines? Are they afraid that the whole hing would end in 6 hours? I'm probably going to finish off this season then check out. I heard the original writer of the first season left half way thru the second season, Which would explain a lot. It could be that he's writing for the new show, In The Line Of Fire, which has been pretty effin solid since it began, and seemed as good as the first season of 24. Thank goodness for that show and Alias!!! Quote
EXO Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 hmmm. just checked out IMDB, no similarities between 24 and Line of Fire besides Leslie Hope. I guess she's just knows to go where the quality is. Quote
Jolly Rogers Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 (edited) She got capped in the end of 1st season, not like she has a choice to go back to 24. That kid is Claudia's brother, not son... David Palmer is the dumbest person alive for going back to Sherry for help. Hasn't she screwed over him enough already? Edit in: Looks like Naked Mandy's return in Season 3 is guaranteed now that 2 out of the 3 bad chicks from the previous seasons have appeared already. Edited January 14, 2004 by Jolly Rogers Quote
MrDisco Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 the latest episode was crap. they're starting to turn 24 into a daytime soap opera. ok chase getting his hand shot was cool and killing off Claudia was unexpected but everything else..come on. CTU is staffed by complete idiots. i'm actually feeling sorry for Ryan. what's up with the bring baby to work sub-plot? david's brother having an affair? jack getting it on with nina? ugggggggggg. my friend was right - the only characters i'm actually liking on the show are the Salazars. Actually, according to her they shot that ending twice, to keep the ending secret to the crew. But she's in a better place now... David Palmer is the dumbest person alive, but the smartest thing he's done is call Sherry right about now... he's lil bro was nothing but a waana be Sherry anyway. Naked Mandy... alright FINE!!! I'll keep on it! Quote
Apollo Leader Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 Naked Mandy... alright FINE!!! I'll keep on it! I know who Mandy is, but how are you guys coming up with this "Naked" Mandy stuff? I've seen all of season 1, the last 6 or 7 episodes of season 2 (I'll be going through my season 2 DVD's VERY soon), and all of season 3. Am I missing something? Quote

Isamu Atreides 86 Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 i know claudia's little bastard of a brother is gonna mess things up somehow. now that Claudia is dead, maybe Kate will come back...i hope anyways!! Sherry Palmer. i can't believe that bitch is back!! you gotta hand it to david. if hes gonna play dirty, hes gonna get the nastiest rat in the crapper to fight for him. Quote
Blaine23 Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 I must be in the minority, I actually liked last episode. I think Nina in this episode makes a lot more sense than her appearance last season, plus I ultimately have liked season 3 so far better than season 2 or even 1. Yes, the show has it's soap operatic elements - it always has, though. Nothing so far has been as bad as Season 1's amnesia or Season 2's Kim vs. the Cougar. As for office retard Chloe's infant... seems like an obvious set up for future peril, if you ask me. Quote
UN Spacy Posted January 28, 2004 Author Posted January 28, 2004 Well. After another two week hiatus we're back with another NEW episode of 24. I guess Kim isn't through being a nanny. Damn you Chloe! Does anyone else think Chase's decision to take part of the survailance team will somehow backfire? I get the feeling the Salazar Brothers are setting up Jack somehow. Quote
EXO Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 I guess Kim isn't through being a nanny. Damn you Chloe! Brothers? You'd think Nina would keep here eye on Jack... Quote
Jolly Rogers Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 Does anyone else think Chase's decision to take part of the survailance team will somehow backfire? I think by now it should be pretty obvious Chase is the He Kim. His only talent is getting himself and everyone around him into trouble now that Kim got locked behind a desk. Quote
Jolly Rogers Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 (edited) Major Spoilers for the next 3 episodes You will never guess who the baby belongs to! Edited February 4, 2004 by Jolly Rogers Quote
UN Spacy Posted February 5, 2004 Author Posted February 5, 2004 Let's see.........hmmmmmmmmmmmm. SPOILERS. Maybe Kim and Chloe are working together and it's really Ms. Bauer's baby. Hehehehehehe. Besides, her storyline can't get any worse than it already is. I also thought Delta teams were much smarter than that. They got wiped out PRETTY easily. Is Ramon dead? Quote
MrDisco Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 i'ld say being at ground zero of a bomb would pretty much make your chances of survival zero. delta teams getting wiped out...eh....nina escaping..again...eh.....the baby is Chase's WTF?!! when did this fine show turn into Days Of Our Lives?? i hope at the end everyone is killed off except for Jack. Quote
EXO Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 Is Ramon dead? Ramon seems very dead, unless he's a magician and that was an impressive disappearing act. It looks like the bad guy role just turned over to the virus dealer. What happened to Nina. Damn phone rang and I missed that part. Quote
MrDisco Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 What happened to Nina. Damn phone rang and I missed that part. when ramon was shot and chaos errupted she ran off into the woods. the ep ends with jack/chase and co. off to search for to get leads on evil euro-dude. Quote
Isamu Atreides 86 Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 this was actually one of the better eps this season. finally Jack was kicking some ass instead of looking like a Junky and Kim's idiocy was kept to a minimum. Chase must be a crappy shot if he didn't kill Ramon with the first shot... Quote
MrDisco Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 you forgot that his (chase) hand was shot (plus he was tortured). that should affect anyone's ability to shoot straight i imagine Quote
Isamu Atreides 86 Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 you forgot that his (chase) hand was shot (plus he was tortured). that should affect anyone's ability to shoot straight i imagine but if hes tough enough to cauterize the would with a branding iron, i imagine he could do better. Jack was tortured until he died last season, and in the final ep, he still managed to kill a whole lot of people.... Quote
EXO Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 I don't think he was trying to kill Ramon. I was a pretty good shot. I think he realizes now that he's not par of the plan and he shouldn't muck it up anymore by killing one of the main players without Jack's orders. Quote

Chase must be a crappy shot if he didn't kill Ramon with the first shot... You know it would have been one of the better eps this season... and thus, of course, Time Warner Cable in my area somehow went wacky and everyone in town was treated to 30 minutes of 24, followed by 30 minutes of "Reggae Spotlight" on the World Music station of MusicChoice... freaked me out, man! One minute Nina is testing the virus, the next minute I can't change the channel to stop the rasta vibes... Damn technology! Thank god for internet recaps. Without I would have to assume Jack, Chase, and the Delta teams were interecepted by Jamaican warriors armed with spliffs. Quote

UN Spacy Posted February 10, 2004 Author Posted February 10, 2004 Well. At least tonight's episode should be interesting, I keep hearing those radio promo's and Jack is supposed to make 3 HUGE mistakes. 1. Not slapping Kim for that horendous haircut in Season 3 2. Hiring that inept excuse for a CTU secretary (i.e. Chloe) 3. Giving Ryan Chappelle a punch to the gut for his antics in Season 2 (j/k) supposedly all those mistake relate to Nina Meyers. Quote

Giving Ryan Chappelle a punch to the gut for his antics in Season 2 (j/k) supposedly all those mistake relate to Nina Meyers. Heh... good mistakes there... but all seem forgiveable - or at least understandable. 1. Kind of hard to being a disciplining parent if you're Jack. "Listen honey, I think you really need to take more care with your appearance..." "You slept with the woman that killed mom, right?" "Nevermind. Do what you want." 2. Only a powerful heroin addiction could justify hiring Chloe. 3. C'mon... everybody wants to hit Chapelle! Hell, he shot Nina - and this was when she worked for him and the good guys! Ryan gets off lucky. Seriously though... does anyone out there believe that Chloe possesses special technical skills that are so crucial that they can't dismiss her? I thought picked up the phone, carried memos, and annoyed people for a living? Quote
Isamu Atreides 86 Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 dismiss her? she ought to be dragged out back by Tony and shot. Quote
Jolly Rogers Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 I bet you won't be saying that if she looked like or is played by Jessica Biel. Quote
Isamu Atreides 86 Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 I bet you won't be saying that if she looked like or is played by Jessica Biel. if Nina Myers or Sherry Palmer looked like Jessica, i'd nominate them for the Nobel Peace Prize. someone should start a poll: Bigger Bitch: Nina, Sherry, or Ryan Good Episode tonight. Jack needs to kill Nina and get it over with. i was kinda hoping the Baby was Jack and Kate's kid, if only so Kate could come back.... Now that Jack is back at CTU, his ass is gonna be in a sling, along with Gael and Tony. i hope that Torture guy goes to work on Nina like that Secret service guy did with Stanton last season or those terrorist did with Jack, including the Soldering Iron treatment.... Quote
UN Spacy Posted February 11, 2004 Author Posted February 11, 2004 (edited) At the end of tonight's episode it felt like a rerun of the Mowry show. TONIGHT ON 24. "WHO'S THE BABY'S DADDY?" I hope they finally put Nina Meyers behind them. It's time to put this one trick pony to rest.....permanently. EDIT: I almost forgot. How can I forget the BEST cameo of the season. It's Michael Bolton! Edited February 11, 2004 by UN Spacy Quote
Blaine23 Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 Dude, I screamed "Michael Bolton is on 24!" as soon as I saw him. My g/f ran in the room, all "WTF?" On my continuing Elisha Cuthbert update... saw a free preview of The Girl Next Door last night. Wow. She totally and completely makes up for her crapass wig on this season of 24. And surprisingly, she wasn't the only thing good about the movie. It was a charmingly funny flick. Very much like Risky Business, which is a good thing, since teen sex comedies were just better back then. Not a perfect movie, but definitely better than anything I've seen since the first American Pie. Did I mention how freaking hot she is in every minute of the movie? She doesn't get nude, but it's the best our little Kim Bauer has looked on film yet. Now I'm going to go back to imaging she's a porn star and she lives next door to me while I pretend to work. Quote
EXO Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 She came also came out in a small role in Love, Actually. She played a girl in a bar who "enjoyed" her other hot roommates. Quote
