Time to break the tension.

Back to the tension: results from google searches -

Search: "Northampton Class" stealth frigate

559 results

Search: "Bolognese Class" stealth frigate

1,190 results

Search: "Bolognese stealth frigate"

350 results

Going by this quick and dirty search, the number of people making the "mistake" based on the Compendium's layout and classification (what other source could so many Macross fans rely on as much? Apart from MW, that is) is significantly large. It is clear that the layout and/or classification needs to be modified. As I said here:

Nevertheless, as you previously, and I and a bunch of others are currently making the "mistake", it means that the way the non-class designated ships are written/classified/hot linked on the Compendium lends itself to misinterpretation.

It's all the more odd, as all Japanese references to the Northampton Class Stealth Frigate, are simply "Stealth Frigate", and begs the question: why was Bolognese choosen as the representative name/class of the ship, instead of other names, such as Stargazer or even Stealth Frigate?

Though, I really don't understand what the point of re-drawing those scenes are. It's not like they're fixing mistakes anymore... they're just adding stuff for the hell of it? Get to work on the movie, already!

It`s completely unneccessary and what`s more it`s wrong. The way it aired on TV is canon to me, you can`t change history.

Model Graphix #291 is out.

The VF-25 article has the clearest rendition of the transformation that I've seen to date. ("So that's how the cockpit folds up.")

How is fixing errors wrong? TV productions are on tight schedules, and mistakes get made. I'd rather have the 3/4 pensive looking Ranka then a side profile sad looking Ranka any day. ;)

It`s a dangerous slippery slope. Just look at what happened when Lucas went back to "make a few changes"...

It`s also contrary to my memories as I was watching the series as it aired. It ruins the nostalgia later on. I`ll be like "I don`t remember it that way..that wasn`t there before...um wtf is happening??"

Fixing a 15+ year old live-action movie is quite different from fixing a less than 6-month-old animated TV series. For starters, the changes are much less glaring.

Y'know, there's that old bit that pretty much all of us thought of when first watching SDFM (or, for many of us, Robotech), i.e. Why didn't U.N. Spacy just broadcast porn the Zentradi if they REALLY wanted to mess with them?

This is kinda like that. I wish we'd had it a few months ago when the Sheryl Shippers were getting so obnoxious. Send it to them and watch their brains explode! :D

Well, they did, however the transmission went into Orguss Universe, into a certain vidscreen. ^_^

Are you kidding? OAD? Although it would be nice to actually get the movie subbed faster for us, would it make a difference if they made a theatrical version? I mean would it be better and have a better sum up? Either way I'm hoping they fix some of the problems they had in the series and make the movie halfway decent.

That's pretty weak IMO, you would think that after all the attention Macross has been geting lately that they would at least do something along the lines of the EVA movies, since the Macross F is going to be only one.

OAD? Weird.

Seems strange that it's not being theatrically released. I wonder if all this info is correct. Sounds a bit suspect. But I like that it's coming soon :)
