protostar8 Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Were there any pics of an "Armored" VF-25G? I don't recall ever seeing one in the show, so I'm debating whether I want to put the future "Armor" pack release on Michael or not and just leave the super parts on the Luca.
edwin3060 Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 (edited) Michael and Luca only ever had the Super parts. Hopefully, the Armour parts will have some way of 'locking' the wing pods to the fuselage-- otherwise the wings will flop and ruin Gerwalk mode just like the Super parts. Alfye: That is a cool screengrab. Do you have a high-rez version? Edited March 21, 2009 by edwin3060
westfall Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 (edited) Hehehe my favorite chapter I will be conform If i can pose the modelkit like this screenshot without actionbase: Yeah, that was cool but what did it for me were these, a few minutes earlier If you look in a dictionary for the expression "BAD-ASS" you'll find these pics there. And the armored pack was almost an Ozma exclusive. As far as i recall, the only other Messiah to use it was Alto's in episode 14. Edited March 21, 2009 by westfall

westfall Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 and episode 25, and at least 1 other time (forget which episode). You're right about 25, i've seen that episode a dozen times and i hadn't noticed that. That thing is so jam-packed of mecha porn that you miss the most obvious things. And having missed that one i'm willing to accept there might be more. Damn, i guess i have to re-watch the whole series again... (Yeah, what a sacrifice that will be! )
westfall Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 (edited) Just did a quick check from episode 15 to 22 and in those he uses only the Super PAcks. From episode 22 to 25 he flies in a VF-171EX, so i didn't check those. The only other place where he uses the Armored Pack is in the Lion Opening, but most of those clips are taken from episode 25. Of course that won't stop me from rewatching every single episode again, as many times as it takes. Its all for the cause... Not really sure what cause that is but i'm willing to do it. (One last note: Total "DUUH!!" moment. I just looked at my current avatar, wich is from episode 25... Armored Pack staring me right in the face... ) Edited March 22, 2009 by westfall
thankheaven Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 A question for those who have the RVF-25 Luca kit. I know the VF comes with both standard stickers and waterslide decals, but what about the ghosts ? From what i can see it looks like the ghosts only comes with waterslide decals and not standard stickers. Is this true or does it come with stickers too ? Since im not that good of a modeller and the model needs so much decals i usually like to use stickers.

honkhet Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 The ghosts only come with decals, not the stickers. bummer, but that's how it is. EXACTLY. i have already finished my luca valk, but its really taking me hella long time to decal my ghosts so far i have ONLY 1 out of 3 done. while at the same time, my luca RVF is already done and stickered up. really really takes alot of time...
edwin3060 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Anybody have any idea of the next release after Michael's VF-25G? Is it just going to be the RVF-25 Super and VF-25G Super (yawn)?
Hikuro Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 My guess, we'll probably get a VF-27 but it wont be until the summer time or something...but if that were to happen we'd probably be seeing some prototype pictures by now.
DarkReaper Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I just finished my Alto and I noticed that the stickers actually look better than the decals most of the time. Except when they have to cover a dark surface like on the vertical stabilisers. Decals rule there. The stickers are just so nicely cut and have no excess decal paper. Only problem is that you have only one chance to lay them down and then thats it. If you have to take them off again they will never stick as well again. So the decal positioning on my Ozma is perfect but they got destroyed after first transformation, Alto stickers not so perfect in some difficult places like the shoulders or places with gradients where the stickers wrinkle, but at least they are very durable.

Hmm but we never did see the RVF-25 and VF-25G prototypes, did we? Do they even reveal model kit prototypes (other than the first one for the VF-25F)?

Do they even reveal model kit prototypes (other than the first one for the VF-25F)? It wasn't really necessary since all of the VF-25 models are based around the same mold, except for a different head and accessories.
edwin3060 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 That's true. Oh well we'll just have to wait patiently then.
Zinjo Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 My guess, we'll probably get a VF-27 but it wont be until the summer time or something...but if that were to happen we'd probably be seeing some prototype pictures by now. THAT kit will be a monster I suspect. Not in terms of size but in the number of people wanting to buy it. I was talking to my local hobby dealer (who's brother buys his stock in Japan) and he said the Macross merch is very hot right now. He's loading up to make sure he has enough stock here... So I think getting a first run of the VF-27's might be a hard task, especially if they over-price it...
David Hingtgen Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I'm waiting for a "Grace green" one anyways, so that won't be a problem for me.
electric indigo Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I wouldn't hold my breath for that one. I doubt that we'll see even a VF-25 "Cannon Fodder". But IF there's a VF-27, I'll instantly go for a green repaint.

But IF there's a VF-27, I'll instantly go for a green repaint. Why not? Do you have information that Bandai won't be pursuing the model kit line beyond the VF-25?
Hikuro Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 From what we've gathered over the last year, the VF-25, and the red Vajra were being sculpted model kit wise by Bandai...and I believe all of them were 1/72 scales...unless the Vajra was 1/100 I can't remember. I do remember there was something about a VF-27 in the process but it's hard to remember all the information from over a year ago during one of those big toy fests. Hmm but we never did see the RVF-25 and VF-25G prototypes, did we? Do they even reveal model kit prototypes (other than the first one for the VF-25F)? It wouldn't of been hard to figure out that those two types would somehow be released. Bandai's pretty good in my opinion on releasing character mecha in some form, be it the same scale or different. And seeing how they're having a cash cow to milk off of ala Macross Frontier, they'd be pretty stupid on not releasing the whole Skull team. I was talking to my local hobby dealer (who's brother buys his stock in Japan) and he said the Macross merch is very hot right now. He's loading up to make sure he has enough stock here... cool.gif My local hobby dealers don't see a need. Of course, I can special order anything as long as I have the product code...but my dealers rape me price wise, nearly doubling what it's worth retail wise. So very easily Alto's VF-25 could cost me 80 dollars or more. The last time I did something like that, I ended up spending over 300+ dollars on 2 model kits and felt pretty pissed off over that since they didn't even call me when they came in and it took over a month to receive in stock after another month of waiting to get in contact from their supplier.
Valk009 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Not sure if this has been asked before, the new Fast Packs, do they just fit onto an existing built kit or do you need to modify it? I have a VF-25 built and am debating on getting the optional Fast Packs bjut do not really want to mess the valk up by needing to take it apart.
Hikuro Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Not sure if this has been asked before, the new Fast Packs, do they just fit onto an existing built kit or do you need to modify it? You have to take off certain parts of the existing model in order to put on the super parts, sheilds gone, legs, chest those sort of areas.
protostar8 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I gotta say, I like the super parts, but not so much on the Luca RVF-25. I think they'll look great on the VF-25G though. The radar dish on the Luca just makes it look way too busy and prevents proper Battroid mode transformation.

edwin3060 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Isn't the 1/72 VF-25G supposed to be released today? Is there any news about it?

edwin3060 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Oh is it? I got the 25/3 date from Ngee Khiong.. Oh well.
alfye Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Yeah, this time distributors have pre-empted the scheduled dates Bandai Hobby: http://bandai-hobby.net/macross/goods/vf_25g.shtml
edwin3060 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Haha ok... I wish they would announce the future model kit releases already!
Dyson's Chicken Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 (edited) Yup. I just got a shipping notice from Hobby Link Japan this morning for the Michael VF-25G. I'm stoked! All this while I was sleeping. And to think that I literally just started working on the Hasegawa YF-19 last night. Well, I guess I know what I'll work on next. It will be intersting to see how Bandai handled the eye on the head on this one. I'm guessing it will be a metallic sticker. Edited March 27, 2009 by Dyson's Chicken

You can clearly see the clear yellow add-on runner in the pictures on 1999.co.jp.
AlphaHX Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Sorry if this has been asked before but does the fast pack versions of the VF-25 come with the parts to make the ship without the armor?
