This is a model kit. The paneling lining and weathering you have to do yourself.

Vifam7
So, any reason to get this instead of a Hasegawa? It's 1/100 scale and snapfit.
danth
It's 1/100 scale and snapfit. Ahh. If only there was a good transformable kit. (I have the Bandai/Arai/whatever one, but it's a parts-former)

ahiachris
Nobody interested in what Wave is bringing out? Is the Battroid model also scaled at 1/100? Can not say that if we're interested or not. It is almost a year now and they are finally going to release them. We still do not have any news on the Destroid Tomahawk. Don't know when they are going to roll it out. Vifam7
Can not say that if we're interested or not. It is almost a year now and they are finally going to release them. We still do not have any news on the Destroid Tomahawk. Don't know when they are going to roll it out. Reports from Wonderfest suggest that they're still working on it (the Tomahawk). The scale of the Tomahawk kit seems to have grown to 1/72. Looks like the release date is sometime next Spring. http://www01.amiami.com/amiblo/2009/07/wf_shizu/06.jpg Edited July 27, 2009 by Vifam7

electric indigo
Wasn't the Tomahawk always planned as a 1/72 kit?

Vifam7
Thanks for the update. The image was not as good as the one the Captain sculpted. I wouldn't take that image as any kind of sample as to what the final product will look like. Besides, some of us have no access or qualifications to Captain's stuff. HWR MKII
Also remember that WAVE is also popping new Ma.K models and retooling the older Ma.K molds. They are more than just macross. It just isnt a priority for them now.
ruskiiVFaussie
the 1/100 looks really nice, details would be great when there is any.
Black Valkyrie
Are they high grade kits like the Mac-0 types, they'll be very good for custom jobs if they come none painted.
valkyriepilot
some new images from ngee khiong: click here for larger images i do hope the final product will have a clear canopy though... electric indigo
The Battroid looks cool, but the proportions of the fighter are rather clumsy IMO.

lechuck
Latest images of Waves 1/100 VF-1, courtesy of Ngee Khiong. Looks like they are really putting effort in this, comes with a stand and Pilot. PS: I had trouble finding this thread. Why are no page numbers visible in the model subsection??? captain america
Reports from Wonderfest suggest that they're still working on it (the Tomahawk). Looks like the release date is sometime next Spring. http://www01.amiami.com/amiblo/2009/07/wf_shizu/06.jpg "Still working on it" is code for saying that they can't generate enough market interest to justify the tooling/production at this time; otherwise, they would have gone to production with it by now, and it was always supposed to be 1/72. Depending on what it ends up retailing at, folks might be better off opting for the re-issued MO-SUU-KAA-TOH HOBBY Tomahawk.
electric indigo
IMO the new pics show the same model from last year, so there's some faint hope that the final release will deal with the ovious issues like the bad fit of the canopy. Wave surprises me, in a bad way this time. They can produce wonderful IP kits like their 1/144 LED Mirage from The Five Star Stories, but this one is crap compared to what Bandai did in 1/100 in their EX line of aircraft kits from Yukikaze or Spacecruiser Yamato. edit: picture added Edited September 17, 2009 by electric indigo
gwfalcon
Like the weathering so so much, BTW, why these producers are only focusing on vf-1 (Make a vf-4G la~~~~)?
Vi-RS
I guess Hasegawa still hold the best in 1/72.
Ranger565
Sucks they only offer DYRL Pilots. I liked the TV uniforms better. Guess I will have to Cut the Football pads off the shoulders for these guys too.
TSP
WTF!!! SRP of 2400Yen. That's way too much for a lightly improved version of the old Bandai kit. Especially if you need to vacuum form a new canopy, sharpen the edges of all the wings, air intakes and thruster nozzles. electric indigo
Official pages are up for Battroid and Fighter. The canopy and the panel lines are much better than the prototype version, but the pilot looks like he's fallen asleep at the controls.
