taksraven Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Richard Wright died yesterday after a brief battle with cancer. He was 65. One of the founding members of Pink Floyd, his keyboard work played an important role in almost every album. For a good example of his keyboard work with Pink Floyd, listen to "The Great Gig in the Sky" on Dark Side of the Moon. He also contributed vocals for a number of Pink Floyd songs and wrote a few tracks too. Wright had an interesting history with the band that I am not going into here (there is plenty of info on this in other places). What I will say is that he was clearly an unappreciated and underrated member of the band, not just with some fans but with actual members of the band too. He will be missed. Rest in Peace. Taksraven
miriya Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Sad indeed. I love Pink Floyd. Their music is very sci-fi IMHO.
Necron_99 Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I was just listening to Dark Side of the Moon this morning, too
