Excillon
Just finished decaling a 1/60 harrison custom Gundam F91. I'm kind of torn between dullcoating, or leaving it gloss. Opinions?

SchizophrenicMC
Touche...however, it's Gundam, it's 1/60, so having that completist compulsion means it must be bought and built. And with the amount of posts you have vs. the time you've been a member means apparently you aren't staying off MW all that much! Well, yeah, my method of beating it is more like not having money, so much as staying off MW. This stuff looks pretty damn good, guys. Keep this level of work up and I might jizz in my pants. HWR MKII
Very nice job - great work on the pigments.... Cheers, Jase. BAH PIGMENTS! Bloody great waste of money. That my friend is my own technique involving wall spackling and tamiya olive drab paint. Add some water and thin how you like. Youd be amazed the effects you can get from just that. Then start adding different paint colors, oil washes and so on. Also my technique has the benefit of being more easily removed and modified once dry. Pigments can be madness if something messes up. despise the things i do.

mechastorm
HWR, that's a beautifully detailed cockpit on the SU-27... it looks so real. Here is another update on my F-91 (the valkyrie on the background is the yammie 60 scale 1A): While applying those damm rub-on decals on the rear right binder I accidentally tore off a really nice strip of paint, oh well Still got to fix that, and start working on the weapons. My custom paint scheme didn't turn out quite the way I envisioned it, but I like it thus far! i did an f91 back in 2002 i guess it was for a model show in orlando. it was part of a winter diarama. i'll upload some pics if i can find them. the quality is a little sucky but you'll get the idea. 505thAirborne
Since there are few Kits available for the MKII Vipers from the new BSG, I got a few of the old school kits off Ebay cheap and I am putting together a small fleet of them. 1978 Viper with an 03' paint scheme. Sadly I don't know where to get any decals that say Starbuck, Apollo, Kat or Galactica, serial numbers, etc. Any suggestions?? I want to make a GALACTICA as well, but I haven't seen any kits other than the 1978 version. I plan on making at least 3 in this color scheme & one in All black with Blue pin stripping. I'll take some better pics as things progress, Enjoy!!
Mechleader
Nice Viper!!! As for the NEW BG Viper kits there are only resin ones. BUT fear not!!! 505thAirborne
Thanks Mechleader!! The picture of that new BSG MKII Viper kit looks awesome, I wonder what scale it will be? If they have the licensing, bring on the Galactica!!

jardann
Not Macross, but I've got to clear these off before I can work on some Macross kits! First, the Testors OA-4M Skyhawk kit. The colors are a little off, but I'm happy with the results.
jardann
Then a Revell Mig 31 Foxhound. This kit is dogged as being terribly inaccurate, but I'm happy with the way it looks. I got good results with some preshading and an oil wash. It looks big and heavy like a Soviet aircraft should!
jardann
The previous two kits were just finished last week, but I've still got a few more on the bench. A Hobbycraft SU-22, an Airfix Lightning, a Cooperativa LA-15 and an AMT/Ertl Crusader. Lot's of cold war air power on the bench! Lots of experimentation going on with these kits. I'm getting a lot of practice with the airbrush. (still need much much more ) More pics at My flickr page. cowie165
Lookin' great Bill! Did you make the ejection handles on the skyhawk? And how did you do the red outline on the Foxhound cockpit?? The oil wash came up really nicely. Great job mate. Did you make the tarmac in the Foxhound pic or is that a store-bought jobbie? Mark
