UN_MARINE Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 it's looking at an invisible cookie or the gigantic watermark, it depends on how much you tilt your head & squint. ...would you believe it's a deliberate attempt at "Badass" & "Comical" ? Quote
anime52k8 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 it's looking at an invisible cookie or the gigantic watermark, it depends on how much you tilt your head & squint. "OMG, I FOUND A NICKLE!" you know, something about this really reminds me of the VF-2SS form MacII Quote
me2 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Nah, probably looking at Sheryl's poster in two piece bikini. My only suggestion is to make a different gun pod design. Anyway, I like your Full Armored VF-1. Good Job! Quote
UN_MARINE Posted September 27, 2008 Author Posted September 27, 2008 thanks! yup. it has that VF-2ss feel. i designed the FP's so they would be SAPpy & Strikey. i guess i can think up a new gunpod like Impreszive suggested. we shall see what i can come up with! Quote
SchizophrenicMC Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 No... It's depressed at MF24's ending. Yeah. That's it. Quote
anime52k8 Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 schizophrenicMC, just a heads up, no pictures allowed in sigs. Quote
SchizophrenicMC Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 schizophrenicMC, just a heads up, no pictures allowed in sigs. If I put spoiler tags around it, will it be acceptable? Quote
Roy Focker Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Spoiler tags around an picture? Um no. Quote
valkyriepilot Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 very nice works man, retro meets modern yep i agree with the other observations, it has a VF-2SS vibe, not a bad thing at all. keep it up!! also, would you mind if i try out translating your designs (especially the FAST pack) into actual models? thanks! Quote
UN_MARINE Posted September 30, 2008 Author Posted September 30, 2008 thanks well, we've thought "i wish it was part of Macross canon" at one point. this is my version of it would you mind if i try out translating your designs (especially the FAST pack) into actual models? why not? it'd be pretty cool to see it in real life. give it your best! on one condition! i wanna see it in person when it's all done i'd do it too, if i only had a 1/60 to fool around with Quote
valkyriepilot Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 (edited) thanks man will do my best then!! ) uhhh.... about seeing it in person.... i have no problem with it, but that depends on location are you by any chance from the Philippines too? EDIT: i'll be doing this one on small scale only though, Bandai 1/100 Strike VF-1S kit, hehe.. Edited September 30, 2008 by valkyriepilot Quote
UN_MARINE Posted September 30, 2008 Author Posted September 30, 2008 yup. i'm currently in the same country 1/100 ? good size Quote
valkyriepilot Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 that's good then! keep you updated when i'll start it dude, got some pending kit works right now hehe. and i'll definitely stay tuned in this thread to see more of your VF-1 updated works. keep 'em coming! Quote
UN_MARINE Posted October 11, 2008 Author Posted October 11, 2008 FIGHTER MODE !!! with new gunpod Quote
badboy00z Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 Looks awesome. Love the gunpod. I like how it doesn't have the stupid torpedo shape/ fin thing. Quote
dizman Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Nice work, very fancy mildly stealthy gun pod. Quote
Darrtallion Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 I really Like your VF design update. I think it looks really good and more well more updated lol. I hope you can produce a few pictures and layouts of every thing on it and detail pics of the extras. I would kinda of like to try to make it a 3D render model. Quote
UN_MARINE Posted October 13, 2008 Author Posted October 13, 2008 Thanks for the kind words so i've recently brought myself up to speed on the Lamborghini Reventon reference, and i'm speechless. that... is a very very pretty car Fighter perspective and extras i had a really big piece of paper lying around. I would kinda of like to try to make it a 3D render model. sure thing, give it a shot! just remember to point back to this thread when you're done Quote
valkyriepilot Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 very nice sketches dude! i like how you did even the detailed views of the ventral and dorsal surfaces in gerwalk mode! hope i had half your skills in designing and sketching mecha Quote
UN_MARINE Posted October 14, 2008 Author Posted October 14, 2008 with determination & practice, you too can draw like this! it took me a while to get to draw like this too, mostly all the years in school when you were told not to draw in class then i took a course in college that demanded lots drawing, and so the bad habits continued and here we are. Quote
SchizophrenicMC Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 with determination & practice, you too can draw like this! it took me a while to get to draw like this too, mostly all the years in school when you were told not to draw in class then i took a course in college that demanded lots drawing, and so the bad habits continued and here we are. I've tried to practice, and the closest thing to a VF-1 I can do is traced.... Then again, a brick's skill exceeds mine. Perhaps VP can do it... GOOD LUCK 25th ANNIVERSARY 1S BOY! Quote
Darrtallion Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 ahh you cant give up on art just like that. I found that almost everyone can draw if taught how to over come their difficulties. I had an art teacher that use to figure out what part of art was holding people back. Most of the time it was either scale perception or depth perception, and with others it was shadows and shading. But he would have students that shouldn't have had a chance at drawing become very talented artist. Sometimes you just have to figure out whats holding you back and overcome it. Ohh yea and practice practice practice. Quote
UN_MARINE Posted October 15, 2008 Author Posted October 15, 2008 yes. what he said and now a little something that goes with the plane! Nievelheim Squadron (Superdimensional) Cinderella's Star i figured it needed a unit/squadron emblem, & that's what popped into my head Quote
SchizophrenicMC Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 You need a Koenig Squadron. Or, if you wanna go REALLY German, a Himmelskoenig or Feurenskoenig Squadron. (King of the Sky and King of Fire, respectively.) Quote
Darrtallion Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Nice work. If you want to have some other ideas on nose art and such you can check out my Uncle's Bomber Group page. http://www.303rdbg.com/ground-nose.html There is a lot of history in the planes that are there. Quote
UN_MARINE Posted October 16, 2008 Author Posted October 16, 2008 "King of the sky" good idea, but i'm not sure if it suits a regular Valkyrie squadron. i think it works better for a VB-6 squadron or a Macross. but "King of fire" might just suit the Armored VF perfectly. Darrtallion, great site. too bad some of the really interesting ones are just in grayscale. Quote
Darrtallion Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 yea sorry about that but most of those aircraft are no longer in existence. Those are all from WWII. But they give a lot of ideas and thinking of soldiers in Air Combat. So I figured it would be at least a good reference site. Quote
dizman Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Double GP action and it's going to fire from the hip, badass. Like the spilt shoulder cannon too, great job! Quote
UN_MARINE Posted October 21, 2008 Author Posted October 21, 2008 thanks sorry about the newer drawings not being colored, my work's getting in the way Quote
SchizophrenicMC Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Shwow... Gives the old VF-1 a modern feel. Timeless is timeless, after all. In 100 years, people will still think the VF-1, and your versions of it, to be one of the sweetest things ever. Quote
