sucker4meltrans Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 if yamato made a perfect transformation 1/60 vb-6 monster would you buy one? Quote
DarkReaper Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 (edited) I would have severe issues finding a place to actually display it. So, no. Besides its extreme weight would require massive joints and would likely wear them out in no time. Edited August 28, 2008 by DarkReaper Quote
pochimus prime Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 if yamato made a perfect transformation 1/60 vb-6 monster would you buy one? I'll save up for it, yes, and have it customized to look like the Koenig Monster in Macross Frontier from what I know, it's the first appearance of the Koenig in an anime series. Please correct me if i'm wrong about that. Quote
Godzilla Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 As nice as it sounds space and $$$ are the issue. Remember that they put a prototype 1/60 Monster destroid and that thing is a monster. Quote
TheLoneWolf Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I would have severe issues finding a place to actually display it. So, no. Besides its extreme weight would require massive joints and would likely wear them out in no time. Not to mention that Yamato would probably charge $1000 for it. Quote
diabloM Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 n it probably turns out to b an exclusive item Quote
505thAirborne Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 (edited) It would be amazing to have a 1/60 version, no doubt about it, But definitely size and what one would cost, It be either a down payment on a house or new car!!! Edited August 28, 2008 by 505thAirborne Quote
DarkReaper Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 You could use it's gun barrels as a coat hanger and store your umbrellas in them. Quote
renkenjutsu Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 You could use it's gun barrels as a coat hanger and store your umbrellas in them. That's a very expensive coat hanger o.o But an impressive looking one, to be sure. Quote
geepogi Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 i'll get one and also a luggage bag. i can see my wife kicking me out of the house for buying it. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Nah, don't want a Koenig, rather the original Mac II (or Zeros Monster) probably be less expensive too not being variable. Plus looks more killer. Quote
Dr. Z Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Besides its extreme weight would require massive joints and would likely wear them out in no time. Click joints. I have massive robots with big click joints that have no problems with wear. Quote
eugimon Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 hahaha, it would be awesome but I think too large to easily transform. Quote
Dr. Z Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Well, they made a transformable 1/35 Jumbo Grade Zeta Gundam (2' tall). How big would a 1/60 Monster be? Quote
eugimon Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 can't find stats on battroid mode, but the shuttle mode should be around 1.6 ft in 1/60 scale. I'm sure someone can figure it out by measuring the 1/100 konig toy (mine is boxed up at the moment and I'm not interested enough to unbox and transform that floppy POS) Quote
sucker4meltrans Posted August 29, 2008 Author Posted August 29, 2008 well using stats from mr. march's M3 a 1/60 monster in shuttle is .5 meters long, .4 meters wide, and .11 meters tall. while definatly a beast of a toy it would be no bigger then your average 20 inch crt tv in gerwalk mode(why would you have a monster in any other mode really??) Quote
eugimon Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 well, because the whole point of a transforming toy is that you get to transform it. Quote
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I wonder how much yamato would charge for 1/60 vb6? Possibly out of the price range of most people. And I don't think yamato has mastered the art of making good joints that well to be able to make it not flop around. Quote
eugimon Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 yeah, something that size would demand 100% ratchet joints. The 1/100 konig is a floppy mess as it is. Quote
Sumdumgai Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 I don't care for the VB-6 Koenig Monster, it's only worth it for the gerwalk mode. And I'd rather have the MKII Destroid Monster (or even the Macross Zero version with OMGWTFCLAW!!!!). Quote
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 (edited) Well here is the thing with robot mode: I love that it can use the rail cannons like the sdf-1 can use the main gun in robot mode or the strike valk can use the strike cannon in robot mode. (ie swing forwards) But the yamato doesn't allow it to do that like in that Macross VFX game picture. Maybe bandai can make a superior koenig monster at 1/100 to challenge yamato? I wasn't 100% happy with the yamato. Would probably end up selling it if there was a better toy of the monster. (but I DO prefer the markings of the old un spacy kite symbol and the bold ANIME EYEBALL since it remind me of the old school monster from SDF:M. ) I have only watched up till ep 19 of macross frontier so far. And the poor robot mode gets no love! Maybe if Kawamori gives us our Destroid OVA that we were all wishing for for years! Robot mode would be used for close combat like the destroid spartan was used in SDF:M for defence of the long range destroids. A tall and heavily armored robot would be perfect bodyguard destroid! If they modded the koenig monster with a pin point barrier it would offer even more defense against heavier mecha. Not to mention the increased energy conversion armor thing that is supposed to offer more protection in robot mode that people speculate makes the bot mode more robust than the fighter or gerwalk modes. That transforming Koenig Monster made from lego looked so cool. Bandai should base the toy on that if they plan on making one.. pic of the transforming lego koenig monster: http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=24641 And unlike the yamato toy, it still has the little gun on the chest! "I was jealous of Omega Supreme from transformers so I decided to turn into a robot one day" It's been about half a decade since the 1/100 monster. I wouldn't mind seeing them do v2 Monster. If not yamato, (who are already doing the smaller destroids at 1/60) then bandai should do it imo. Edited August 30, 2008 by 1/1 LowViz Lurker Quote
