Dang...you would think that they would at least throw some DUBs on the Zuki....looks like the spent all the money on the design. Tisk Tisk

P.S. Why they always gotta make Sheryl/Ranka perverted....

*I think I'm about to be bashed on.....so Bring It!!!!

Damn, I officially am annoyed at Tochiro now for thinking of making it an avatar before I thought of it.

They're patterned after old WW2 airplane nose art.

Hmm Point taken...but that Zuki is far from "Battle-Form" maybe something sexier like a RX-8 perhaps? Oh wait, Ranka's on it....she doesn't deserve anything sexy. Whoops...

IMO, they should have used a good old Lancia Delta HF Integrale, just like Ozma's car.

Why should they? Just curious re: your justification.

guys we are in region 1 for blu-rays, as is japan... english should be available in subs on the japanese release - that it is not is quite annoying

To utilize the new BD region coding to bypass any HG interference in marketing the product to North America. Granted the pricing can be a bit prohibitive for most.

The international version of Plus came with English subs and a dub. A similar method could be employed for the BD releases to increase disc sales and gauge Western interest in the show.

In a world economy this does make sense, otherwise why bother combining North America and Japan into the same region code if none of the studios have any plans to potentially market their shows directly to the old Region 1 customer base?

You lost me on this one. You aren't referring to the licensed Manga release?

You're overlooking something important in your justification as to why Plus had an international version with a dub and sub - it already had a pre-existing US release. Also, for whatever reason, Japanese people seem to like English dubbed versions of their own products, as evidenced by the many "international versions" of games that get released over there. But even a pre-existing US release means nothing, as Bandai's Blu-rays of Char's Counterattack and Gundam F91 don't include the English dub and subs.

You're also assuming that the Japanese want to sell Macross to us. Time and again, the actions of anime companies have shown that they're very Japan-centric about anime and don't care much about foreign markets, even at the exclusion of potential profits. There's no evidence to suggest that Big West/Bandai sees a large US audience for Macross and wants to spend their time and money marketing to us. That's all fan assumptions and wishful thinking.

Nope.

There was a Region 2 International Version about half way down the page:

http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/video/_video_dvd.htm

Except I was mistaken about the subs, they are Japanese subs for the English sound track.

Ah, an older release. Still, we're talking about a title that was licensed internationally to Manga Entertainment (and using their dub).

So that's what they used for ammo on paint-gun, a lipstick bullet.

Hmm... Those things actually exists you know. Compound bullets. Uses a normal shell casing except it's emptied of it's power charge. The propellant actually comes from the tiny primer charge. The actual bullet itself is made of wax so it splatters real well when it impacts on it's target. I read it's doesn't have any real range to it so it's mainly used in close quarter combat training with handguns mainly and some SMGs.

To all accounts it still hurts like hell when it hits though, not unlike a paint-gun.

Why the hell did I feel I need to tell you all that I'll never know...

Btw, VF-27 Lucifer and VF-171 Nightmare Plus, is that official?

would be cool if Lucifer was official, since the VF25 is the Messiah.

did anyone call it in the "name that VF27" thread?

Actually, it hurts more since those things tend to travel at higher speeds than a paintball. Even newer ones which utilize .20 wax balls fired from an replica AEG (air electric gun) still travel at twice the speed of a paintball.

Why I decided to share that, I dunno.
