tankf77 Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 It's easy to figure out who's the silhouette, Sheryl's cry of anguish for Alto will summon The Birdman. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phYfp80zn-c...feature=related which silhouette guys?
tankf77 Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Gubaba's serious........I read somewhere in the thread that there was a unknown shadow beside Sheryl on Frontier's stage??
Cybergig1 Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 dang at this point it could end up being the spirit of Ranshe for all we know, which could wake Ranka from her stuper and make her realize what a psycho genocide crazy girl she's been but yeah I was sorta wondering if it might be Minmei but not sure if that would really be the "culture shock" they mention. So who knows at this point. Though a huge concert with Basara/Minmay/Sheryl would be awesome lol
d3v Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 serious........I read somewhere in the thread that there was a unknown shadow beside Sheryl on Frontier's stage?? Why who else, but her mysterious mentor, the one singer who inspired her and who taught her the power of song... ...NEKKI BASARA! Ore no/Atashi no uta wo kike! That already happened in the last episode: Ranka sang Ai Oboete Imasuka, then the fleet got a face full of beam spam and blew up while everyone was wondering what the heck she was doing. I think it's going to be Sara, come to take her grand-niece away from all the pain. And then she'll blow everyone up with her finger. Edited September 22, 2008 by DeeBot
sketchley Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 No, no, no. He was crushed by the collapse of the Studio Nue offices on South Ataria Island just after Hikaru Ichijo rammed through it in a transforming VF-1D. (Remember: TV series story, movie designs!) This can never happen. SK was crushed to death by a Zentran Power Armor while trying to get Minmei's autograph in the SDF-1's concert green room, remember?

I agree there was already that shock, just how earlier snippets of info made it seem as if it would come when the whomever person showed up on the bridge so who knows. I just didn't see it so much as a "culture" shock as just a plain WTF shock haha but yeah Sara showing up would be pretty pimp Edited September 22, 2008 by Cybergig1
Duke Togo Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Of course, we're going by an automated translation.
Graham Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Definitely recommend getting the new November 2008 issue of Hobby Japan magazine. Not only does it have a Macross Frontier cover, but it also features a 47 page article on the Macross Frontier kits and toys and CG mecha art. Beautiful builds of the 1/72 Alto VF-25F and Ozma VF-25S are shown along with custom conversions of Micheal's VF-25G and Luca's RVF-25 and a scratch build variable VF-27. There are of course some interesting new pics of the 1/60 DX. There are also the largest CG pics published so far of many of the mecha, including the VF-171EX, Vajra carriers and others, which I'm sure Mr. March will love. Oh and a custom Yamato VB-6 in SMS scheme is also shown, complete with Ranka nose art. Graham
sketchley Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Gah! More money going to go bye-bye. And I've already exceeded my book buying budget for this month!

Graham Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I'll scan some, but probably not all. I'll try to get some done tonight after my son goes to bed. Graham
UN Spacy Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Your scans are greatly appreciated oh Lord of the Sith. Is that a 1/72 VF-27 on the cover of Hobby Japan with the VF-25's?
Graham Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 As I said, a scratch built variable VF-27. Graham
Strumvogel Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Got the street date for that issue of Hobby Japan? Got to make a note of it since any mag issues with Macross in it tends to disappear really quickly from my local Japanese bookstore.
Graham Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Sorry correction, the 1/72 scale scratch built VF-27 model in the new Hobby Japan is battroid mode only, not variable. Graham

Just out today in HK, so probably out yesterday or the day before in Japan. Graham
GGemini Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 The cover for Gakken's Macross F Official File 1
Strumvogel Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Just out today in HK, so probably out yesterday or the day before in Japan. Graham Cool. Thanks Graham. *sigh* Looks like I'd be making another depressing trip in to the city for it then, though I won't be surprised if they're all sold out already. It's the very reason I haven't picked up vol 1 of the manga yet. They were wiped out in a matter of seconds of hitting the shelves.
Graham Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Preview pics for episode # 25 up on the official Frontier site. Graham
Mr March Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 That looks like the Quarter's beam slicing up something
Xeros Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I'm not sure but looks like some secuence... 1.- Sheryl's face looks scared of the vajra carrier that is about to shoot over the Battle Frontier bridge 2.- Macross Quarter save the day 3.- All are friends again and charge against the little queen and the mad scientist
Kronnang Dunn Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 (edited) Preview pics for episode # 25 up on the official Frontier site. Graham Finally... Well, what we have here? I increased the size of the pics and it seems that: 1) The first pic has Battle Frontier being saved from a Vajra carrier by a shot from the Quarter apparently... 2) The second pic has Sheryl back at singing. I noticed there's a huge fleet in the background... Was the Frontier fleet that big? (specially after the Vajra counterattack during Ranka's culture shock...). Perhaps the rumors of NUNS reinforcements weren't wrong afterall... 3) The third one has Battle Frontier attacking surrounded by a huge fleet and Canaria's VB-6 Monster in the front... I guess this means that the SMS pirates will return to Frontier to help fight the Vajra... Edited September 24, 2008 by Kronnang Dunn
UN Spacy Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 The Quarter makes a grand entrance eh? Very nice.
RedWolf Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 The Quarter makes a grand entrance eh? Very nice. Dynamic Entrance! without kick
Morpheus Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Did I see a Meltran gunship in the backgorund on pic #3????? And yay for Quarter rescuing his big brother
Kronnang Dunn Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Did I see a Meltran gunship in the backgorund on pic #3????? And yay for Quarter rescuing his big brother Maybe is the Quarter (which itself looks a lot like a Meltran Gunship...).
wolfx Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 (edited) Maybe Macross 7 fleet came to help. Well i guess Leon is overthrown eventually and Quarter assumes command of the fleet. As for the extra ships, possibly those are all in the Frontier fleet. Canaria's VB6 and the rest of the VF-25s look suspiciously like the same overlay used in episode 14, with Quarter in the background instead. Anyone can confirm? Edited September 24, 2008 by wolfx
anime52k8 Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Canaria's VB6 and the rest of the SV-51s look suspiciously like the same overlay used in episode 14, with Quarter in the background instead. Anyone can confirm? SV-51's in space? now that would be awsome.
Morpheus Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 The first pic reminds me of a scene from DYRL, during he final battle with Bodolza fleet, a Zentran gunship rush into Macross while opening its main gun and was shot down before it could fire it. Hmm, I'm expecting captain Wilder to announce "This is Macross Quarter, from now on we will protect Battle Frontier, anyone else who is listening to Sheryl song, bring culture back to us"
