Phyrox Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 Have had this on my HD for quite awhile, and have seen it on a few web-sites since then. Does anyone know who did it? Where is it originally from? Is there more to it? Just curious. I rarely like fan-redesigns (as I am assuming this is), but this beats the original Gosu right out. Thanks for any light you can shed. BTW- The "illustrated by" characters are confusing also. The first two don't look like Kanji to me (which I can't read anyway), but they don't fit for any of the Kana I know either. Quote
dna Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 Never seen it before. You have a larger version? Quote
Phyrox Posted November 1, 2003 Author Posted November 1, 2003 Nope, wish I did. I guess no one here has an answer? Quote
Mechamaniac Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 Wierd, that looks almost Mospeada like. Sort of like a streamlined Invid. Quote
GobotFool Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 (edited) I beleive that is an invid command battloid (sorry don't know the proper mospeada name for it.). Check it out on Jeff russells mecha charts http://www.merzo.net/robotech/mechasizes.htm Edited November 1, 2003 by GobotFool Quote
Phyrox Posted November 1, 2003 Author Posted November 1, 2003 no, no, no. I know it is a re-design of the Mospeada Inbit Gosu (Robotech: New Generation Invid Royal Command Battloid). I want to know who re-designed it, and why, and anything else... Quote
dna Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Well, it's not an official version or anything, so the why would be cause it looks cool Quote
Barpharanges Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 (edited) I believe this drawing came within a liner note booklet for the DVD re-release of the Mospeada series in Japan. A nifty Tread (Beta Fighter) redesign was done as well. I'll try to dig up some pics.... EDIT; Found it. The Armoured (liked it needs it) Tread; Edited November 2, 2003 by Barpharanges Quote
gnollman Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Well.. you could search for the name of the illustrator. You can read it multiple ways, though... I'd wager on Ogawa Hiro, though. You can also read Ogawa as Koga or Kogawa, and Hiro as Gou.... Quote
rikiryou Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Yeah, a number of variations there. “ can be read as: Okawa/Ogawa/Kokawa/Koga/Kogawa _ can be read as: Isamu/Ooi/Kiyoshi/Kou/Koushou/Kouji/Kousou/Gou/Gouji/Hiro/Hiroshi/Yutaka That's what JWPce gave me, anyway. Nice designs. Quote
dna Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Hmm, while I liked the Gosu variation, that Tread doesn't do much for me - way over the top. Quote
DestroidsRage Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Your crazy DNA! I would absolutely die for a toy of that Armored Tread!! The Tread was alwyas my favorite giant robot from the Mospeada series (I think i prefer the awesome ride armors over all), and this is just frikkin WIKKID. If Stick Bernard had one of these honnies at his disposal the entirety of the Inbid (its inbid! isnt it? in Mospeada?) would have had the crud kicked out of them instantly. LOL. This is the most bad ass awesome design I've seen in a VERY long time. -BEN-MAN- Quote
Phyrox Posted November 2, 2003 Author Posted November 2, 2003 Thanks Barpharanges Now I wonder if there were more re-designs in that booklet... Wish I could find some good scans of it. BTW- always loved your 40K stuff. Saw a lot of it on DakkaDakka when I used to frequent/lurk there. Quote
Barpharanges Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Its a small world after all! I saved the pics from a very nice webpage called The Genesis Climber MOSPEADA Universe. Its address was; http://3dgamedev.com/robotech/Research/Mos...a/Mospeada.html , but don't bother clicking the link, as it is no longer there. Lots of neat stuff, like this tiny pic; Wish it was bigger, but it finally shows the interior bomb bay of the damn Tread... Quote
