just got mine from hobby link japan and man this toy is not one for beginners or those that are ham fisted like my ol' bandai 1/55 vf-1 "chunky monkey". spent 2 solid hours today learning to transform it before i broke down and watched videos.

I have had it for two years now and have mastered the transformation.

Did you remember to transform the neck? :)

it took me a looooong time to get used to this bird :)

After the bandai Macross 7 offerings of the 19, the 1/60 YF-19 never stops bringing a smile to my face. :) Complicated to get down the transformation, but once you get used to it, it's just as easy as transforming a VF-1.

the sv-51 is easier but i think the yf-21 is the hardest

the three hardest things on the yf-19 are the neck, elbows, and the joint behind the cockpit that you have to carefully snap loose or risk breaking the mech in half.

Agreed. The neck always makes me cringe everytime i hear the "snap" it makes to unlock it. And the elbows always confuse me on how to spin it when getting it back into fighter mode.

Hardest to transform for me is the YF-21. Uncollapsing the backpack practically gave me a heart attack, plus it's so damned hard to pull.

Honestly other than the backpack that sticks occasionally the 21 has been pretty easy to transform for me. My friend has a 19 which I've handled but I've shied away from transforming it because it feels really fragile and very toy like in comparison to the 21 IMO. Hate to break another man's expensive toy
