jenius Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I just asked whether or not this had been delayed and was told that there hasn't been any news that it was. So, with any luck the Yamato Destroid, CMs VR-41, and CMs Dark Legioss are still scheduled to be out this month.
Lynx7725 Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 So, with any luck the Yamato Destroid, CMs VR-41, and CMs Dark Legioss are still scheduled to be out this month. Good luck or bad luck?
jenius Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 I guess that would depend on your perception. If you see new toy releases as fortunate, then it would be good luck. If you really enjoy hearing things are mired in delays or have a fear of new releases for budgetary reasons then these releases by month end would be bad luck. I've been very skeptical that any of these toys would hit their release dates but now it seems that CMs is on target but I'm still very curious as to whether this destroid will make its release date.
Lynx7725 Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 (edited) My perception is more biased towards my wallet. Ow. I don't really have a big problem with delayed toys, simply because (1) it's a luxury item anyhow, and (2) taking it positive it just might mean the company is taking time to make it better. Yes, it can be frustrating if you really WANT something... but after many years, I realise "want" is not "need", so I tend to take it as it comes. On the flip side, having the toy delivered on time also doesn't trigger the throes of joy some of you go through. It's something nice to play with and to display, but as before, "wants" vs. "needs" -- I could have lived without. EDIT: Having said that, I do have 2 Tomahawks on pre-order. It would be nice if they come in soon, but I've got enough stuff from other hobbies to keep me busy for some time. Edited September 19, 2008 by Lynx7725
ruskiiVFaussie Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 i wish they would say they would be releasing a low vis 2 camo so i can cancel the normal tomohawk scheme. come one graham any info to spoil us with??? jungle camo Tomohawk will look so awesome!!!!
AcroRay Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Yes, it can be frustrating if you really WANT something... but after many years, I realise "want" is not "need", so I tend to take it as it comes. Well said indeed.
Scream Man Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 The problem is my lack of self control and my need for things i 'want' get together and suck the money right out of my wallet. I shudder to think what I have spent on Star Wars toys in just over a month...

I shudder to think what I have spent on Star Wars toys in just over a month... Get a wife so she can spend your money before you get it. Getting her was my last big purchase... and is what has reduced my collecting.

UN Spacy Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Graham. Is the Tomahawk still being released this month?
T0t0r0 Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 (edited) Amazon Japan updated their release date to October 1st (it had been September 25th). Assuming they are accurate (which IS just an assumption) then at least the slip isn't that much. http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/switch-language...;language=en_JP /edit Looks like Yamato has updated their Tomahawk page to show a release date of October 1st too... http://www.yamato-toys.com/items/detail.php?gid=1184 Edited September 24, 2008 by T0t0r0
CF18 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Source Is it what I am seeing - a Yamato weathered 1:60 Tomahawk?
logos Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Source Is it what I am seeing - a Yamato weathered 1:60 Tomahawk? That looks weathered to me.
CF18 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 For sure it is - the text from the HJ scan "ウェザリング特別仕様" confirms it. At least it don't say "限定" -> limited. Coming this winter, price unknown.
Cache Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 wow, i didn't think it possible but those photos actually made me think twice about my current pre-order. i may just have to re-work my budget for the winter. i'm not familiar with how Yamato works, is the release of a weathered version an indication that they are seeing significant interest in the destroids? or is it just their standard procedure?
logos Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I am going to wait then. Weathering just makes it look that much cooler.
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 Oh yeah. That's how a Destroid should look like. Glad I haven't ordered mine yet. Hey Graham, can you post a bigger scan of that page?
UN Spacy Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Yamato weathering = three times the MSRP
T0t0r0 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Yamato weathering = three times the MSRP That's how I'm justifying to myself sticking with the initial pre-order. ;-)
jenius Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I wonder if we'll have to jump through hoops are win a drawing to get that weathered version.
Spiff Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 That weathered version is pretty tough looking! Hrmmm, what to do?
ruskiiVFaussie Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Yeah, what do we need to do to get one.... It looks awesome, but most of all i own is showroom clean and i don't have room for weathered stuff, but it does look terribly badass....
CF18 Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Well may be this weathered one will not be limited hard to get like the 1:48. The already closed up 1:48 and were just milking the old mold with a few special 1:48, and avoid giving the new 1:60 too much competition. Or may be they were experimenting with the extra paint process, so they can be cost effect for mass production. My biggest concern is what if the Tomahawk is the only weathered one but they will only release clean version of the other two brothers?
ron5864 Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Cool! A weather version could be available soon. And I thought that I will have to wait for 4-5 years for a weathered version like the 1/48 VFs.

eugimon Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 oh, that looks great. Yamato's heavy handed weathering is perfect for destroids
Scream Man Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Very nice! I dont know ill go out of my way for one, but oit looks cool!
logos Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Screw it I am getting both! If the weathered is that much better I just sell the other on ebay. I can't wait anymore.
Impreszive Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 This might be out by my convention. I want to see if anyone has one that I can look at up close.
EXO Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I'm gonna skip those destroids unless they're not much more than the regular ones. I'm not that impressed.
ruskiiVFaussie Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 (edited) 20 bucks more? 30? i'll draw the line at 5.... Edited September 29, 2008 by ruskiiVFaussie
