anime52k8 Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Sheesh, no wonder....It's classified as a "Completed Model." The regular Tomahawk was classified as a "Toy." And the OD Tomahawk is classified as an "Action Figure." Thanks for the heads up! Been looking on HLJ every few days waiting for the preorder to show up for quite a while now haha. so apparently the Defender is a cold-cast model...
edwin3060 Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 so apparently the Defender is a cold-cast model... Probably different employees entering the toys into the database. They should really have some standadisation of such stuff.
DarkHawk Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 What happened to 1/60 scale mac II monster? Wasnt it supposed to be released a few years ago? Does anyone have any of the old production pictures?
promethuem5 Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Anyone know why BBTS doesn't have any of the Destroids listed? I really want to finally get the Tomahawk so I can customize it, but I am trying to avoid buying anything substantial from HLJ any time soon.
macrossnake Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 What happened to 1/60 scale mac II monster? Wasnt it supposed to be released a few years ago? Does anyone have any of the old production pictures? Is that the photo you are looking for? It is going to be expensive, but I still hope it will come out oneday!
emerson Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Anyone know why BBTS doesn't have any of the Destroids listed? I really want to finally get the Tomahawk so I can customize it, but I am trying to avoid buying anything substantial from HLJ any time soon. I would email them and make a direct request. I've done that in the past and they've been very accomodating. I think that they carry so many toy lines that sometimes they just don't keep on top of new releases, preorders, etc. Besides, they buy wholesale from HLJ, so it's not difficult for them to add more items to their orders from them.
VFTF1 Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Question for all those who have gotten their 1/60 Destroids: How is the poseability and how are the features? I ask as someone who has owned a 1/60 Milia Quid Rau for a long time, and while I think the sculpt is great, I find the poseability to be rather atroctious for such a large figure; and the "fixed posed" Milia to be really depressing. They could have at least made a fully poseable Milia (like the girls for Bubblegum crisis) and while I recognize that the Quid Rau isn't that poseable to begin with - I just feel that more could have been done in terms of features. I wonder whether the 1/60 Destroids are also rather "basic" and simple? Pete
the_foul_fowl Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 I couldn't help it! 1/60 scale DESTROYED Defender http://www.toyslogic.com/index.php?main_pa...6kfonc0ee15b6q6
edwin3060 Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 I couldn't help it! 1/60 scale DESTROYED Defender http://www.toyslogic.com/index.php?main_pa...6kfonc0ee15b6q6 I thought it was a link to a modeller who actually had the money to do some drastic battle damage to his 1/60 kit!
VFTF1 Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Wow that's nifty! It actually now reminds me of a Patlabor when you do that! One could concieve of the Destroid Defender actually being able to also be a Destroid Construction vehicle, Destroid Crane, Destroid Drill, Destroid - you name it! I mean - basically it's a pilot's cabin on legs that you can attach things to Pete
ff95gj Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 I couldn't help it! 1/60 scale DESTROYED Defender http://www.toyslogic.com/index.php?main_pa...6kfonc0ee15b6q6 I notice that it takes more time to manufacture this model. The intact Defender would be released in Dec; and the destruction process would take 2 months.
Lynx7725 Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 How is the poseability and how are the features? Only has the 'Hawk at the moment, but they are decent. Good upper body articulation -- given the design -- hips are a sore point, not very there as they are constrained by their leg armour -- could have been better, honestly. Legs are ok, but the joints can be a bit loose. The lack of good hip articulation, while in line with the design, has quite an impact on posability. You can't get the "out of there" action poses, but poses more in line with heavy line busters/ brawlers are possible.
jenius Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 The hip bar actually can be lowered and articulation is improved significantly... but still not completely unhindered. I'd qualify the Destroid toys as being fairly fun to pose... much better than the QRau
Dante74 Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 I'd qualify the Destroid toys as being fairly fun to pose... much better than the QRau a couch has better poseablity than the Q-Rau.
jenius Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 and some couches transform into beds. Couches 2, Q raus 0.
blacklotus Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 and some couches transform into beds. Couches 2, Q raus 0. Good one. Ouch, but good one. p.s. I recently got the re-released Max's blue colour Q-Rau retail. Yup. My couch-bed has better poseability and transformability than the Q-Rau...
Vostok 7 Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Hey I like my Q-Rau. Ok, I like anything with Millia in a flight suit *rawr*, but the Q-Rau is still pretty cool. Vostok 7
VFTF1 Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 and some couches transform into beds. Couches 2, Q raus 0. The similarities don't end there - the Q Rau lets you store a woman in her. Some couches can open and there is storage place for...err...bedsheets...and pillows....of course... Pete
Spiff Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 So when is the damn weathered Tomahawk coming out? I am holding off for that one.
sidearmsalpha Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 So when is the damn weathered Tomahawk coming out? I am holding off for that one. It's up on eBay. I think it's out, but it seems to be a limited exclusive that is commanding a higher price.
ff95gj Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 The Defender and Tomahawk OD would be released on Dec 26. From Yamato site!
macrossnake Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 The Defender and Tomahawk OD would be released on Dec 26. From Yamato site! Dante74 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 My OD Tomahawk and Defender just shipped! HLJ even put them in ONE package. Never seen 'em do that before.
Ignacio Ocamica Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Great Box art!!! I just got the regular Tomahawk
dizman Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Hooray they kept the yellow color scheme for the defender! I'm glad they didnt use the same two 1/60 scale people as came with the tomahawk.
VFTF1 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I'm getting the OD and...my God - that OD Tomahawk box is the BEST boxart Yamato has had to date! That is just beautiful! I wish the other figures had such lovely boxart Pete
Vostok 7 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Is the OD a limited? I sure hope not. Vostok 7
macrossnake Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Don;t know if anyone has seen this, can't help it... has to post it. Give it another 20 years, it might looks closer to a 'real Destroid'!
EXO Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Holy Cow... real box art for a Macross Toy from Yamato??? Now that's just spoiling us.
Vostok 7 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Don;t know if anyone has seen this, can't help it... has to post it. Give it another 20 years, it might looks closer to a 'real Destroid'! MAAAA-KUUUUU-LOSSS! Vostok 7
honkhet Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 simply superb that the defender comes with different crew/people! now, i have no reason not to collect destroids, which by themselves are already awesome, the people/ground crew are an excellent added bonus, offering endless diorama fun and possibilities! WAY TO GO YAMATO!!!
