Fly4victory Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Guess it's a good thing since you have to be a paid Yamato member and you can only purchase one. Yamato needs to start selling whatever they are smoking in the marketing department. That is some powerful stuff to cloud their minds like that.
DarkReaper Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 That green ground personnel picture looks very badly photoshopped.
Javabean Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I juz got the standard tan Tomahawk. The OD sure looks tempting....not sure if I want to make that preorder. Is this prelude to future Spartan release?
EXO Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 awesome, gonna look good with the white decals. What's that wallet??? You shaddap! I dont want to hear from you...
treatment Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 HLJ just listed the OD, but with no early-bird discount it seems: http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00112
bigkid24 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 When is the olive Tomahawk supposed to come out? I understand that Yamato needs to sell a couple of different versions of the mold but can we at least get through the rest of the destroids before doing repaints? If this comes out before the defender I think a lot of people will have to choose olive versus original.
arrow Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 yeah, they should just shoot out all the destroids. or, cant they just produce a bigger batch so that they can sell at a lower price.
Dante74 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I just caved in and ordered the OD. I figured with the weathered version not becoming available to us mere mortals, I might as well get a 'normal' one. I still think it's too expensive a for a non transforming toy though.
macrossnake Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I got mine normal version about two weeks ago, it just looks great, loving it. Shame I don't have any extra money to buy OD version (too many another macross stuff to buy).
EXO Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Screw that... All SDF/DYRL all the time from now on... that thing is badass... Am I the only one here posting?... oh so cool! *takes off pants*
hirohawa Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Am I the only one here posting?... oh so cool! *takes off pants* That should definitely clear everyone out.

Am I the only one here posting?... oh so cool! *takes off pants* Ahhhhh.. so thats why the site was down for hours and hours.... *EXO takes pants off - the world crashes down....* i blame EXO!
ff95gj Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 I am more concerned on space concern than money... As it is a new series, the costs would be amortized over the future... I would get all the destroid models alright. The issue is only I would get 1 color or 2 colors (forget the weathering). It would be a nicer sight with 8 destroids standing together, instead of just 4... 4 boxes of such size... That is around 2 big 1/48 boxes... I think I can live with that? Or not. I'll have to make space for the new 1J, 1D, 1As, Queadluun-Rau x2, RegaultS (!), ... I know people who who already has a squad of 3 original Tomahawks... But I don't think I can attain to that level yet!
ruskiiVFaussie Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 So that's what the mods do when no one else is around...
VFTF1 Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Damn. Damn! That Olive Drab Tomahawk is sweet! I resisted the initial one because it just looked drab - but this guy is great. Damn! Damn! But yeah - it costs WAY TOO MUCH for a non-variable mecha! And it's not like the thing is all that poseable anyways. I will pass and get the Bandai models instead I think. Pete
EXO Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I just got my Tomahawk and man... this is just too awesome... kinda disappointed still with the no tampo BS but the detail is just insane. I like the fact that they included crew also. Here's a pic of a 1/60 crewman next to my 1/48 Roy. Roy looks gigantic because at 7'2" (actual) he's a giant even next to other 1/48 figures.

Save Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 (edited) My Weathered Destroid was delivered yesterday, it looks great! They should be popping up on ebay in 3, 2, ................... Edited December 1, 2008 by Save
atreyu2112 Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 What ever happened with the Defender? I went to pre-order a couple weeks ago and it said "order stop" and HLJ / LAFT don't have a pre-order up yet. Were these delayed or am I s.o.l.?
jenius Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Oh I hope to God it's delayed. Please... my wallet is BLEEDING... oh, nevermind, that's a hemorroid. Just kidding, but I do hope it's delayed. I never expected Toynami would actually release their Beta this year so now I have to scrape together another $150... and that Weathering Tomahawk was a pretty penny also.
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted December 2, 2008 Author Posted December 2, 2008 So people here actually ordered the weathered version? Can you guys post pics? I decided on the regular and OD and since both sport a showroom finish, I thought displaying them next to a Tomahawk that looks like it was abandoned at the Universal Studios lot for twenty years, would look too weird. That and having three Tomahawks is too much for me. Hell, two of the same is an excess! I do dig the weathered version quite a bit tho'.
jenius Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I opted out of the Olive Drab... for now at least, I wouldn't be surprised if I pick one up later. I'll be putting a post up on my blog when I have the time.
jedimech Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Wow, the olive drab Tomahawk looks great!! So far, is there only 2 variant colors out in the market (ie yellow and olive)?
jenius Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Out on the market? Yes, there are 2, the Beige standard Tomahawk and the Weathering LE. The Olive Drab is due out this month and it will be the third to the market (unless you don't count the weathering edition).
jedimech Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Can any kind souls post some pics of the weathering edition? Have not seen any pics for that version.
jenius Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 You must try harder, this was a few pages back: http://www.yamato-toys.com/dev/release_010...l?infolnk=index
Remko Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 The Tomahawk and Defender both look nice, but I never was a big fan of the original Macross Destroid designs (although the HWR Monster is the best looking Destroid ever!). I'd prefer the Macross Zero Cheyenne's. Much cooler, and more interesting design: Macross Zero Cheyenne C'mon Yamato, give us more Macross Zero 1/60th toys!!
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted December 3, 2008 Author Posted December 3, 2008 Now that Yamato is out of the Frontier game. they'll have to focus on the licenses they do hold, so the Cheyenne's is a good possibility. Then again, there's still so much mecha to be made from Macross Plus, SDF, DYRL and Zero, it may take a while.
macrossnake Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Want a Monster. Zero or SDF. same here, 1/60 Monster please! Perfer SDF version.
