unmc2001 Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 If you were to get only one 1/48 Max which would it be? The VF-1J that comes with super strike parts or the VF-1S from DYRL. Space is an issue for me so I only want to get one of them so I wanted to hear any thoughts from others on why you would choose one over the other. Quote
Dante74 Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Which 1/48 Max thread to reply too. choices, choices. I'd get the TV version myself. Quote
unmc2001 Posted August 10, 2008 Author Posted August 10, 2008 I have this new laptop with the finger pad control and I am still getting used to it. I hit the pad and all of the sudden click, click, click and I have 3 posts. Quote
Necron_99 Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 GET ALL OF THEM!!!!! You're going to end up doing it anyway. It almost like they coat these damn things in pheromones before they ship Quote
EXO Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 VF-1S is kinda complicated to get since you have to customize it yourself from a Roy and a 1A DYRL Max. Oh yeah, the 1J comes only with Super parts since it's the TV version (The strike only appear in the movie version). The DYRL strike parts kit and some special releases come with the strike cannon. unmc2001 Posted August 10, 2008 Author Posted August 10, 2008 So for the VF-1S I would have to get a VF-1A Max and do a head swap with a VF-1S head. I guess that makes my decision a little easier. I am not a fan of the VF-1A head. thanks Quote

Fly4victory Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 (edited) Don't do the expensive way when making a VF-1S Max. Just buy a VF-1S Roy and repaint the yellow blue. Plus, making the Max VF-1S is a great excuse to buy an airbrush. Edit: I think you will also need to swap the wing doing the VF-1A conversion to get 001. Edited August 10, 2008 by Fly4victory Quote
unmc2001 Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 Thanks for the info. I think I am going to go with the VF-1J. Quote
sqidd Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Thanks for the info. I think I am going to go with the VF-1J. Someone is selling a nice custom in the classifieds section of a VF-1S Max, check it out. Quote
