I believe there is evidence that SMS was originally an all Zentradi outfit.

1. SMS is owned by a Zentradi, Richard Bilrer.

2. The

is very sexist. Suggesting an all male group.

3. The SMS symbol may have been derived from a Zentradi flag symbol. Upon similarity to Vrlithwai fleet flag.

Now Bilrer may have had his own fleet opting to join the UN. This fleet became the basis for his transport fleet escort business. This business became profitable due to the dangers of pirates and rogue Zentradi in open space. Thus Bilrer's company made a name for itself in the transport sector.

They changed their company's name from Speed Miracle Spacy to Strategic Military Services upon changing their business model to that of a PMC.

Excellent theory. I was about to come with something like it myself...

I also see a similarity of the S.M.S. logo and the Zentradi symbol... (Both colors and design).

I certainly wouldn't be surprised if SMS was originally all Zentradi. We know it's run by a Zentradi. We know there were a LOT of Zentradi post-SW1. They may have outnumbered the humans until the human cloning program was in high-gear.

The second reason, however, is a bit...er...specious. First, Japanese culture is pretty sexist in and of itself. Second, I've heard plenty of American military cadence songs like polidread posted. Hell, I've heard plenty of American popular music that was at least as sexist as the SMS theme.

The third reason is entirely plausible, just given the context of the show itself. Yellow on black symbol within a show that's already had one prominent yellow on black symbol, the latter belonging to the group that the owner of the former is a part of? Sure. I can see that. Even so, yellow on black symbols are not the sole domain of the Zentradi, and the colours are really the start and end of the similarity, beyond that is reaching.
