eugimon
Hm odd, considering it's not out for another entire month and they generally don't charge you until the product is there, and I don't have the charge at all, only on the VF-1A. I'd email 'em and ask them what gives. hmm, well, i think it's because that particular order also has the destroid on it, so they processed the whole order rather than break it up. I'm okay with that.
Hikuro
Ah, well if that was the case no biggie, hope you put specific notes to have them ship the destroid seperately unless you're cool not seeing it until november.

Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0
I've been thinking, maybe Yamato should utilize the old shoulder hinge design from the old 1/60 toy. That seemed to be made out of POM, and we NEVER had any reported breakages for it. The difference being mainly in shape. The shouler hinge itself had 2 pegs molded on, that plugged into an upper, and lower socket, rather than having one single pin go into 3 pieces. It is hard to explain if most of you have not seen what the old 1/60 hinge looked like.

ruskiiVFaussie
I think the TV 1A Max should be released first, and DYRL? after. With the 1A 1/48 TV Max still in sight (for jap residents atleast) the 1A Max TV 1/60 v.2 would benefit more wouldn't it? But when has Yamato expressed their logic with releases. (not recently!) (not recently!) I think with both Bandai and Yamato, flashy designs that are more visually appealing are catered to more than combat relevance. For example Max's TV VF-1A was used in Max's most important episodes, yet the only toy coming out in japan is an extremely limited edition version that you can only get via a special promotion. Yet his DYRL 1A is always made, as well as his 1J. Sure the 1J was given when he was promoted, and he used it to escort Komilia in a space baby carriage. In the end, his 1J is mainly relevant because it was flashy and indicative of his rank promotion. Even hasegawa has yet to release Max's TV 1A, and they are a model kit company. I do agree that while TV 1A Max mades numerous importance appearance, yet the only toy came out will be a limited release. I wud love to see Kakizaki TV 1A in 1/60 as well as Hikaru (soon to release) & Max (will ever release?). Kakizaki's DYRL green 1A toys was released in 1/48, yet I never get to see his aircraft clearly (with any tint of green?) in the movie, before he got blown off on earth. Don't forget that is when he and milia get to be seen in the super valk upgrade too. So it's like now he is even more deadly as a pilot with the valk given more speed. ruskiiVFaussie
Oh yeah. sorry your correct. Hikaru alone was shown to be using the Booby Ducks in a bad ass way. Max and his gnarly abilities were put to better use with puttin up with Millia's cooking around that time. He went missing, Mr K felt he had to be brought back in Mac 7 to make up for it. DYRL? i think both were equal in the limelight overall, but again Hikaru with the Strike. Edited October 10, 2008 by ruskiiVFaussie
1/1 LowViz Lurker
That plane, even with SUPER parts was not significant in combat though, all it did was give Max a more flashy looking valkyrie to fly. True but the same could be said of any upgraded mecha. Doesn't mean people dont like the upgrade more. For example I much prefer hikaru in roy's vf-1S because that is when he is at his most experienced as a pilot and the overall appeal of that plane. Just as I like the armored VF-0S regardless of how little time it got in macross zero. Not everyone buys based on how much or how little exposure a given robot gets you know. There are other factors too. Ozuma is not the main character in macross frontier but I think he has a way better looking mecha than alto. Whereas it's the reverse for Macross Zero: I think shin's cannon fodder looks better than white VF-0S. (I hate too much white) The vf-11 cannon fodders got blown away with ease in macross plus and macross 7, but I like the grey scheme, and the simplicity of the bot mode a lot. But they are just background pilots getting their butt kicked and shown to be not doing anything unless a good pilot is in one. They are not heroic, basara has much more significance in his cutting edge vf-19 which saves the galaxy, but why are the grunt so popular? Not because they have a major important person using one and doing something of significance. But other things like personal taste. I hate the coloured stripe system of the DYRL valks. Another thing is I hate the idea that each pilot is in the same team and each of them gets a skull emblem. I don't give a crap if max's battle against miria was handled much more smoothly in animation for the movie than the crappy tv series version. Max is better in the SDF:M with a blue VF-1J (most iconic to me) and Miria is cooler in that green grunt Qrau. (green Qrau with markings just looks better to me) Admittedly I like the upgraded tech and details in the movie editions. But hate the outside paintscheme of the movie. TV series was the real war, so Miria was iconic in her red vf-1J which she used to fight off the desperate zentradi, and max is iconic in the blue VF-1J because that what he used to fight alongside her as a team of aces. His super upgrade is him able to really unleash hell on large numbers of enemies and fight at full potential. So although there is no flashy animation involved the footage of him fighting back to back with his lover in the most significant episode (when the humans are armed with everything they can throw at the aliens; reaction missiles and all - this is the final battle that will determine who wins or loses) that is what people will remember the most. kanedaestes
I will say this....I love Max's VF-1J. It is my fav valk. Ever since it first came on screen i was smitten. I did love his 1A from the series but his 1J was more badass. From a marketing aspect it is more like it has a tone of color and the first different color valk you see except the 1D. Everything else is mostly white with a few glimpses of other all color valks. Plus he had one of the coolest transformation sequences ever in that valk. When Hikaru first got the Bobby Duck, Max was turning over in space then in mid turn he change to Battroid and kicked ass. One of the best scenes in the whole series. ruskiiVFaussie
I believe it was the episode where Max (1J) was flying escort for Misa (going to see her dad back on earth) and he got caught up kicking ass elswhere and didn't have the time to protect Misa at the same time (Kamjin's ploy) that's when Hikaru came in and blasted his way there in like under a minute and wasted everything in his wake. Such is the power and speed of the Booby Duck'd VF-1S. My fav episode (before final battle). Edited October 11, 2008 by ruskiiVFaussie
