areaseven Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 At the San Diego Comic Con, it was reported on this article that Jason Statham has expressed much interest in starring in a new Daredevil movie. Frank Miller has also voiced his opinion, saying Statham should play the Man With No Fear. Now, if a new film is to be made, it will be a reboot, as the last one sucked (not to mention that Ben Affleck called the role "humiliating"). If Miller is involved in the project, expect it to be based on the 1986 Born Again storyline (issues 227-233). Quote
chowyunskinny Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 (edited) I like Statham, I think he's made some entertaining movies, but I don't know if he can act without the accent. Edited August 7, 2008 by chowyunskinny Quote
Scream Man Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 ive always liked the DD movie myself. Its not perfect or anything, but it was pretty cool and had some great moments in it. the special extended edition is better again. Quote
UN Spacy Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 What is it about Jason Stratham's movies that make me wanna drink a durian milkshake right afterwards? Quote
lord_breetai Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 cool then they can have a scene where one of the other Marvel charcaters shows up and asked DD to Join the avengers and he plain refuses. Quote
badboy00z Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I thought Ben was pretty good. I'm not sure how I feel about Jason Statham with hair. Lol. Quote
terry the lone wolf Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 As long as the movie's Daredevil and not DD guest starring Elektra or vice versa. Though I did like Kingpin and Bullseye in the original. The special extended cut was much better than the 1st film. Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 geez...what is it with Marvel and rebooting their shitty movies... Quote
azrael Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 geez...what is it with Marvel and rebooting their shitty movies... Because after Blade and prior to Iron Man, X-Men and Spiderman have been the only ones to be noteworthy. The first Hulk movie was a stinker. Daredevil was meh. Most other projects have yet to get off the ground. Quote
Fortress_Maximus Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Statham as the mild mannered but extremely articulate and eloquent attorney Matt Murdock? Hell no! Maybe as DD but he will have to learn some serious gymnastics b/c that is what DD specializes in along with arial maneuvers. Statham's style is more of a brawler no finesse. Quote
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Hell yea if its based on Miller's Born Again storyline this movie might be awesome. God damn that story was great. Quote
CoryHolmes Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I, too, enjoyed the first DD movie. And on top of that, I prefer the theatrical cut to the director's cut! *dodges tomatos* And that was my first real exposure to Jennifer Garner Quote
badboy00z Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 O/T: Jason Statham's new movie is like Twisted Metal, Jail Break, and The Fast and the Furious combined. Lol. Quote
Duke Togo Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Frank Miller shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a movie production. Quote
EXO Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I can't believe people actually like that movie. The S&M outfits, the silly script, bad acting and bad direction. The only thing cool was the sonar effect. They should use Kevin McKidd in the new Daredevil. He was pretty kickass as Lucius Verenus in Rome and Journeyman and they're using his old partner Titus Polo as the new Punisher. Then we can have a cool reunion/crossover. Quote
Duke Togo Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Ray Stevenson and Frank Castle is pure win, but the movie will probably still stink. Quote
bigkid24 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I think the script for the first one was okay aside from Kingpin finding out that Murdock was Daredevil already. I agree with Exo that the other factors killed the movie, although I saw nothing wrong with DD's D&M suit. Quote
Alpha OTS Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I liked the extended DD movie as it better fleshes out all the second tier characters in the movie and connects them to the main plot so that DD isn't the single driving force in the movie. The ending in the theatrical version is somewhat of a mess, but you don't realize how messy until after watching the extended cut. It's still a poor man's Spider-man, and I can't really disagree with any negatives pointed out about it, but I like it all the same. Affleck was ashamed of DD, eh? This from the guy who did Pearl Harbor and Phantoms in which he was the bomb, yo? Quote
akt_m Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 We could have been happy since long ago if instead of wasting money on all those bad comic2movies adaptations they made a single Macross movie. I bet it would have gone well. Quote
