Fly4victory Posted August 25, 2008 Author Posted August 25, 2008 Mr Surfacer revealed that I need more work on one vertical fin and one engine nacelle. To see the finished model without being a member of Macrossworld you can go over to Samurai Monkey. http://www.samurai-monkey.com/boardz/viewtopic.php?t=1500 Quote
MechTech Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 That came out awesome! It was worth the effort! Now you just need some Revoltech joints and .... - MT Quote

Fly4victory Posted August 26, 2008 Author Posted August 26, 2008 PLEASE HELP There was a fan art poster with orthographic views of the VF-2SS: top, side, etc. I thought I had saved it on a different computer but I didn't and I cannot find the image. If you have it please post a copy here or provide a link to the website. Thanks. Quote
Hope this is what you are looking for. Edit: Added photos. It won't get lost this time. LOL! I don't think I've tried that breakfast combination yet! We should thank HelloHikaru & JediKnight for the poster. Keep up the great work! Quote

Fly4victory Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 Now that the information is public. I want to see squadrons of VF-2SS. I have got to feel it. More Cow Bells! erh.. VF-2SS Quote
Skypoet Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 This Valk is Absolutely BADASS!!!!! Few more battroid. Quote
Fly4victory Posted September 4, 2008 Author Posted September 4, 2008 Skypoet, Gald that you like it. Nice VF-1A MAX that you have in your avatar. Thanks to everyone that have viewed this thread and provided inspiration during the build. I am truly amazed that there have been over 3,500 views in a month and a half. Do finally have the resin kit from Samurai-Monkey to build the non-SAP battroid but it was fun doing an all mode variable without the resin parts. Now, just wish I had the second model that was sacrificed for the parts since it is out of stock at HLJ. Guess it was a limited reissue. C'est la vie. I still have two more in the box. Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 outstanding, you really nail it!! Bandai could learn a thing or two from you! hope to see your next project soon! Quote
HWR MKII Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Excellent and very clean work. Lets see what else you can do . Quote
PetarB Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 I want to see squadrons of VF-2SS. I've got one in the works. It's a bit bigger than yours though...! Anway, an epic journey for you, and thanks for posting up all the pics. Nicely done. Quote
ComicKaze Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 (edited) As the MW resident VF-2SS supernerd (I have tons of pics that I was saving for my VF2SS website that never made it there because I stopped working on it 5 years ago haha). For comparison's sake, here are some pictures of garage kits and b-club option parts that have the proper engine sizes. It's too bad the Bandai model is so old and poorly designed. http://members.shaw.ca/decepticon/VF2SS.htm Edited September 4, 2008 by ComicKaze Quote
HWR MKII Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 That last pic of the fighter mode with the red line is WM Chengs build of the 1/72 resin kit. He made it so the parts are interchangeable. Quote
Fly4victory Posted September 5, 2008 Author Posted September 5, 2008 ComicKaze, the first transformation series is great. The Gerwalk roll/transformation is like Hikaru's VF-1J. But WM Chengs builds are always the high water mark. Quote
Fly4victory Posted September 5, 2008 Author Posted September 5, 2008 Lets see what else you can do . Tough crowd! My fingers have yet to heal. Next work is not Macross so the work in progress will be on Samurai Monkey: http://www.samurai-monkey.com/boardz/viewt...p?p=15257#15257 I will post a few key picks on the workbench tread. Quote
Janx Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Read this thread and many others on MW with avid interest (fantastic reference resource), the VF2SS has to be one of the cleanest looking VFs out there. This build is fantastic and very inspirational thanks Fly With the excellent help of Getter 1 I am attempting to build this beauty in Card at approx 1/33rd scale have a look on http://www.zealot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=161015 Its not plastic, but when I eventually get off my backside and push it out on the forum there, I am sure some one will convert it. (btw it can be made in any of the 3 modes but isn't quite transformable) Ty Fly and yes Cheng's stuff is jaw dropping. Quote

Could you post some pictures directly to this forums?. Cool things come out from that site but most of us don't want to sign in just to see a few pics hre and there ... Quote
