eugimon Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 hikaru never had a 1a in SDFM. His first is the 1d, then he trains in the CF 1J, he gets his 1j and then the 1s
diabloM Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 hikaru never had a 1a in SDFM. His first is the 1d, then he trains in the CF 1J, he gets his 1j and then the 1s off topic, but just wonder why he got to use a cf1j to train...just because he is main character ?
anime52k8 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 off topic, but just wonder why he got to use a cf1j to train...just because he is main character ? I think because of some unexplained plot contrivance they decided to bump him strait to squadron leader so he was doing basic training and command training at the same time.
VFTF1 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I think because of some unexplained plot contrivance they decided to bump him strait to squadron leader so he was doing basic training and command training at the same time. Maybe for the same reason Max makes squad leader - everybody else is dead. Pete
eugimon Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I think because of some unexplained plot contrivance they decided to bump him strait to squadron leader so he was doing basic training and command training at the same time. nah, he was made a squad leader later on and for a specific reason. I'm gonna go with "cuz he's the main character" or "cuz he was best friends with the CAG"
VFTF1 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Oh wait - he was made a squad leader for resucing Misa from Goodbye Mars. But that still doesn't explain why he trained in a 1J. I think it was an animation error. Pete
DWN013 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 It always seemed natural to me that hikaru skipped the 1A phase because he was already an excellent civilian pilot, he just needed to learn to be a combat pilot.
ruskiiVFaussie Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 VT-1 is coming.... *dies* I love the v.2s!!! My hikky 1S is perfect, so i can't wait to get my hands on a VT!
miriya Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I dont visit the forum for 2 and a half days and look what happens!!! Damn, that Ostrich is absolutely mind blowing. I love my v.1 ostrich but this is definitely much much better. The question now for me is weather or not I try to sell my v.1 ostrich?
warrhead Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 (edited) I think because of some unexplained plot contrivance they decided to bump him strait to squadron leader so he was doing basic training and command training at the same time. The whole thing can easily be explained away with the necessities of war. Here is a population that is stranded on a ship in the outer rim of the Solar system, surrounded by an enemy with a largely unknown technology that is obviously vastly superior. The real question is, why was the large majority of the population NOT drafted or at least used heavily in a civil defense capacity? As for Hikaru's quick rise: accelerated advancement and lax regulations for comissioning officers. If this sounds far fetched, consider Viet Nam. My dad joined the Marines in late '67 and by the end of bootcamp, although earning an advancement to E-2, he was offered commissioning through OCS by simply taking a college equivalency exam. Why, because infantry platoon commanders were dying at an alarming rate at the time. Do the Marines, (or any branch of the service for that matter,) who are comprised of a %100 volunteer force, do that now? Hell no. Edited February 21, 2009 by warrhead
Agent-GHQ Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 The question now for me is weather or not I try to sell my v.1 ostrich?Keep it! It's a piece of Yamato history. I have the v.1 and the 1/55.
CF18 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 VF-1D is out: http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-87804-1-1.html
danth Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I can't wait to see some amazing two-seater customs, if people make them.

miriya Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Received a newsletter from Overdrive where they say the VF-1D will start shipping this monday!!!! Thank you! So now I am overly excited. I suppose that is is possible that I could have this by the end of next week?
miriya Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 (edited) The box art on this final release I find to be a bit uninspired.... I guess it is pretty egotistical of me but I much preffer the box art I did for Kicker773's custom VF-1D HERE Edited February 21, 2009 by miriya
Folka Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Is it me or does it look like this guy added on side covers?
dizman Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Hmmm I think its just the angle the picture was taken at. What you are mistaking for side covers is the area where the arms swing into position.
miriya Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Just messing with Photoshop. This thing is so awesome in all three modes but battroid is really shining for me. Some color variations....
macrossnake Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 The box art on this final release I find to be a bit uninspired.... I guess it is pretty egotistical of me but I much preffer the box art I did for Kicker773's custom VF-1D HERE Agree, Yamato needs better graphic designers to do their box art. The new 1/60 looks awesome though.
Javabean Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) After looking at the box art couple times again, i kinda likeit . A refreshing change fm the usual dark colour we see fm previous releases. Edited February 22, 2009 by Javabean
Black Valkyrie Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 There is nothing with box, Yamato just wanna remind us of this scene.
MacrossMan Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Why didnt they make it for the 1/48!!! Co-sign
logos Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I guess this confirms that it comes with missles! Anyway I like the box art. It's something a bit different from what they usually do.
edwin3060 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 So many valks, so little money. What are the chances that this will still be available say... 3 months from now?
logos Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 So many valks, so little money. What are the chances that this will still be available say... 3 months from now? I'm betting pretty good. You can still buy most of the other Valks at Overdrive and other places. You just might have to wait a little while till they get more in stock.
Arthurius Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Just messing with Photoshop. This thing is so awesome in all three modes but battroid is really shining for me. Some color variations.... Wow miriya, where did you get these pictures, i havent seen the source of the original, but damn it looks good, this could be my first dive into the vf-1 1/60.

I've just given Overdrive quite abit of cash for the DX Super packs and one of those SDF1 shirts and its time to give my wallet a break!
kanedaestes Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Ok now whoever gets this first needs to take the cockpit off and put it on the VF-1S in gerwalk and fighter mode so we can relieve some of our favorite scenes from episode 3!!
SchizophrenicMC Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I guess this confirms that it comes with missles! Anyway I like the box art. It's something a bit different from what they usually do. What's more important, your hair or your life? Well, my hair, or course! Sorry, seeing Minmay made me think that.
schmungbeen Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 hlj is now starting to ship these bad boys. Can't wait!
ron5864 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I am just glad Yamato included guns and missiles for this valk. I was worried that just because it was a trainer model that no weapons were going to be included. And I just paid for my order on HLJ, so it should be at my doorstep in a week.
