Not exactly the VF-1's finest hour :)

But...but...I was so looking forward to seeing these on the M3. :p

Thanks for these screengrabs, Nexx Stalker. I've seen them before, but never with this much clarity. I never noticed the VF-1D with the red clown nose, smiley face and eyes.

The screenshot of the Monster MkII and the VF-1 together makes them look very similiar in size. I thought that the Monster towered over VF-1s. I am I wrong?

Or anybody else's for that matter. They look TERRIBLE!!! Thank god the artwork in frontier for any vintage mecha seems to be a little bit more respectful.

Whats up with these scene? Is it some kind of gallery or something? Never seen Macross 7.

Long story short, Battle 7 detached from City 7 to fight the Protodevlin, but it was a trap, and City 7 got folded away. Battle 7 had the fleet's entire military presence, so Millia held a "Valkyrie Festival" prompting everyone to bring out all their personally owned (mostly relic) Valkyries and Destroids, with the alterior motive of being the only thing able to defend the city.

edit: un-spoilered so haters can know more of the awesomeness that was M7.

He, I find them really amusing. Especially the Clown VF (as TheLoneWolf noted) and the "moulin rouge" one :)

All the pics come from episode 15 of Macross 7 except the last two screengrabs, which are taken from Fleet of the strongest women and Episode 11.

Also, it seems the majority of the VF (the ones presented here are all the ones depicted in the episode, bar none) are are mainly 1J. The idea of destroids converted to civilian use resurfaced in Frontier.

What. Battroid Carnival (or whatever it was) was great! I especially loved when

those crazy old guys got their monster up and running and took a out a building with the big guns.

And hearing "Riding in your valkyrie" as a BGM track. Say what you will about Macross 7, but this was an awesome tribute episode at the time.

Consider yourself fortunate that you have not!

HELL YEAH!

Who needs Max flying around in a VF-22, acting like he's some kind of genius? And more information about the Protoculture and the Supervision Army? Pfft, who cares? The VF-17? LAAAAME! And, like, EVERY mecha show out there is done from the point of view of a rock band...why couldn't they do something original, like make it more military? You see barely any robot shows that feature the military as main characters!

Sure, Macross 7 wasn't the series most of us wanted to to be, but to write it off so completely is just wrong.

Ahem, I believe it was Max and Millia flying around in colour coordinated VF-22s!
