dafunguy Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 (edited) Step 1: Order recast shoulder parts. Step 2: Wait patiently for your order to arrive, cuz seller is really busy. Step 3: Once the parts arrive, perpare for surgery by removing arm from main body. Step 4: Next remove shoulder from bicep by loosening elbow screw. Found out that the bicep piece was also cracked! Since this piece is not really a load-bearing part, I'm just going to crazy glue it back together. Step 5: Perpare for recast installation. Jacked up shoulder on the left and recast on the right. Step 6: Remove rubber gasket from jacked up shoulder to place on the recast. Step 7: Drill a hole for the top shoulder screw, as recast doesn't come pre-drilled. Step 8: Screw the recast pieces together and install the rubber gasket. Step 9: Connect shoulder back to bicep and main body. Step 10: Tighten all screws and you're done. Step 11: Test out the shoulder by holding the gunpod straight out. Mission accomplished! Edited June 27, 2008 by dafunguy Quote

sidearmsalpha Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 I think that's great that SILVERDRAGON is offering the recast parts. How durable are the recast parts though? Are they made out of better plastic than the Yamato ones? Come to think of it, if they are, that's pretty bad on Yamato's part. If a recaster can put out better parts than the company that makes the toy, that sucks. Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Finally the molds I made for these replacements are being put to great use. Way to go SILVERDRAGON!! These were made a long time ago... Quote
