Sorata Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 (edited) Did I saw a replay feature there? Yay, finally some Varauta battleship got some love Yep thats what it looks like and I am still cheesing over the 40+ Valkyrie and Mechs and 80+ missions EDIT: hmm.. the PSP may be getting trophies like the PS3 if so I hope they add them in time for Macross Ace Frontier to get them itll be nice to add trophies to add even more challenges and replayability to the game http://www.gamespot.com/forums/show_blog_e...estnews;title;2 My only concern though is the game is only a few months away and yet no trailers or in motion game footage yet? Fly4victory Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 wtf Ghostbusters??? your kidding? :edit: just checked soem screens WOW! That is just awesome, PS3 will be mine.... when it comes down in price. http://www.ghostbustersgame.com/ Thats what I thought, I was in the airport few months ago on my way to Toronto and there was a magazine, black cover with a huge Ghostbuster symbol on it. It covered production, had some pre-production art and an interview with Dan Ackroyd. I bought the Sega Master System just for the Ghostbuster game. I hope that Macross F has some English at least more than Eureka Seven and Gundam Battle Chronicles. It would be such a small market but an after market english players guide and manual would be great.
ruskiiVFaussie Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 (edited) lol, wasn't there an atari ghostbusters game? i do remember having one as a kid, but it was soooo CRAPPY, i think it was atari. master System must have been cool though! back on topic, yes, atleast a small amount of english would be nice. Otherwise we will need to resort to the forums for translations all the time. Edited July 18, 2008 by ruskiiVFaussie

Seems fairly complex, especially for a 2600 title.
bluemax151 Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 It would be such a small market but an after market english players guide and manual would be great. A lot of PSP games (for example Initial D) have English language manuals in the "Asia" release version. Places like Play-Asia.com usually carry the Asia version in addition to the JPN version. I just took a quick look and even the PS3 Initial D game for the Asia region has an English manual.
Fly4victory Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Great find. I will remember to get the Asia not the Japanese version.
yellowlightman Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Great find. I will remember to get the Asia not the Japanese version. Well, generally Asian versions just come with a small sheet with the instructions in English. Nothing you wouldnt be able to find on gamefaqs.com.
darkrealmbahamut Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 why o why....not on ds I don't think you would get the scope of mech on the DS. A lot of information to crunch on to a chip as opposed to a UMD.
JB0 Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I don't think you would get the scope of mech on the DS. A lot of information to crunch on to a chip as opposed to a UMD. The space is really more relevant for high-detail models and textures. And the DS' lower capabilities mean there's less to cram into the ROM. Of course, the DS' lower capabilities also means it probably couldn't do the game for other reasons(and the lack of a thumbnub for transformation control makes button count more of a pain).

protostar8 Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 (edited) I've been playing through Gundam Battle Chronicle to brush up on my skills before I play Gundam Battle Universe and I gotta say, I hope they don't overpower certain fighters like they do certain Gundams. Honestly, some gundams have a weapon that can pretty much one shot almost every enemy before the enemy close and that's not really Macross like in my opinion. The other thing is that I really hope the team stressed fighter combat as opposed to close quarters combat b/c from most of the still frames I've seen, I don't see many pics of the jets fighting and that worries me. As mentioned by others, the Gundam Battle games let you transform if a gundam can, but you never really want or need to b/c of the games design. Let's all hope the GB team can make a well balanced game that has lots of fighter vs fighter mixed in with close quarters. Edited July 21, 2008 by protostar8
bandit29 Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 I hope this game is good/decent.. my interest in all things PSP is in on life support..
Duymon Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 It looks almost exactly like Gundam battle chronicles, which plays extremely fast. If the control scheme is the same this game may be too easy at the start for those that have kept up with Battle Tactics / Battle Royale / Battle Chronicles heh heh. I will prolly end up just buying the UMD, ripping it to my PC and playing it off my memstick forever. I hope sales for this game will be good so that we can see more

Sorata Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Thats the Another Century's Episode 3 game for the PS2.
protostar8 Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 (edited) Thats the Another Century's Episode 3 game for the PS2. Okay. The title said it was ACE so I assumed it was Ace frontier, but I was a little skeptical. The graphics did remind me of the Gundam Battle series though, just a little more polished than the GB games. I'll remove that link and stuff now. Edited July 22, 2008 by protostar8

yellowlightman Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Wow, shipping for Himeya Shop seems really expensive. Might be worth it for people to shop around with shops like ncsx.com and play-asia.com.
Sorata Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Yeah I thought it was high at first but after checking places like amazon japan it seems that most shipping from japan to the US is going up due to a change shipping services. My last amazon japan order for a few macross frontier audio cds cost me 20 bucks.
protostar8 Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 You know it's funny, most of my imports actually come from ebay or play-asia. Ebay can be good if you're willing to buy it used.
Sorata Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 (edited) Best bet with ebay is to find a good seller with a store that does you right and do repeat business with them. Thats what i do for new import games from my favorite seller, we have done business for a few years together "he" has even been known to send me extras for the repeat business like post cards, pencil boards etc from other games or animes "he" thinks I might like. When I got Macross for the PS2 from "him" I was also given a pack of macross trading cards and a cad captor sakura post card, now that I think of it "he" may be a "she" based on what they send me, either that or "he" likes girls animes, and the return address name looks like a womans name, dang the internet can be confusing when you anonymous maybe Ill ask next order I place. I had a bad experience with play-asia once. i ordered two items from them one theu never got in but charged me for and took months to get a refund for, and one they said came with a preorder bonus then said it didnt get the preorder bonus and one was never offered for it (though the game producers said all the first runs of the game would come with an artbook), and then said i cant cancel my order but then did cancel my order after I sent them the copy of the email one of their reps sent me back when I placed the order and asked if it came with the bonus artbook and he said yes, so i placed my order for it based on that info. I ended up ordering it instead from himeyashop.com and got the artbook and all for cheaper. Edited July 23, 2008 by Sorata

There aren't so many things in amazon except CD and I will not even mention Amazon france they have all the Robotech, Macross until Macross Plus So Thanks for the link.
Fly4victory Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 (edited) Those Destroids look great. Made me think of the Robotech game for GameBoy Color. The side scrolling screen for all the VF-1s let lots to be desired but the two levels where you were able to pick a Destroid and run around a 3D landscape were fun. This will be my first Macross Game that I will actually be able to play. Edit: Added photo. Edited July 26, 2008 by Fly4victory

Sorata Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 (edited) Yeah it made me go out and get component cables for my psp. Oh by the way i recommend getting a Naki World Protect and Play case for the psp slims. They cost ten bucks and work great it encases the whole system but leaves access to the buttons and ports and does a excellent job of protecting the screen and its only 2 bucks more than a set of screen protectors which never want to go on right I know trust me I am a profectionist and anal about neatness and wont even buy a book if the corners are bent or scratched and I can t ever get the screen protectors to work just right heck I have used 8 already just trying to get it on right. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3049108 Edited July 28, 2008 by Sorata
