karmajay Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I have 5 or 6 1/48 and 1/60 Yamatos, but I find I hardly ever transform them because I just enjoy the fighter mode so much. I know we have smaller non-transformable Revoltech battroid toys, but are there any NON-model fighter mode smaller toys? I know I could just keep my big ones in fighter mode, but spending $100-$250 and hardly transforming it is starting to make less sense Thanks! Quote
Fly4victory Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 You may want to try Doyusha 1/144 die-cast. They are kind of expensive and will have to search. Here is a link to Hobby Link Japan. http://www.hlj.com/product/DYSDMM-1 There is also Chara-works collection 1/144 plastic. http://www.hlj.com/product/HAP81058 Finally the new Yamato 1/200 but this has non-transformable Battroid and Gerwalk in addition to Fighters. http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00077 Hope this helps. Renato Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Doyusha made a series of die-cast valkyries a couple of years back. There was a VF-1, YF-19 and YF-21 and plenty of variations thereof. http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/_...vf1s_focker.htm http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/news/_news_n047.htm MW doesn't seem to have a listing for the 21 nor any of the other variants (Max & Millia, VF-X2 colour 19 etc.) but anyway, trust me, there were more. Maybe a forum search for Doyusha will clear stuff up as to how many variants there actually were. Quote

I know exactly how you feel and that's the reason why I personally haven't gone crazy buying with the 1/48 or 1/60 toys. I must have a few though. Anyway, for fighter mode-only toys choices are few. I only know two - 1. The F-toys 1/144 Chara-Works Valkyrie Collection - There are 2 sets currently out. But it is only for the VF-1 Valks. HLJ sells them as 10-pack box sets. These mini-kits are pre-painted and pre-built. All you have to do is stick on a few parts and put on the decals. While the sculpt is fantastic, the build quality is a lottery. Some are okay, some are terrible. 2. Doyusha's 1/144 scale diecast Valkyries. These are really nice. A toy for the VF-1, YF-19, YF-21, and VF-19A were released. However, currently only the VF-1 toys can be found. I keep hoping that Graham can convince Yamato to try GNU fighters in 1/144 or 1/100 scale. Edited June 18, 2008 by Vifam7 Quote
Hiriyu Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 The forum search won't quite pick it up, but there was also the Reds/ARII 1/24 fighter mode valkyrie, which has been discussed here at length... But good luck finding one! Quote

myk Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I know I could just keep my big ones in fighter mode, but spending $100-$250 and hardly transforming it is starting to make less sense I'm not willing to spend the time it takes to learn how to transform one of these things in a decent time under 5 days and not break anything. Graham posted that he can do sub-5 minute transformations on the new '21. Good for him and everyone else that has learned how to do that but me, I 'gots stuff to do... Quote

I'd actually build models if they made them bigger than 1/48. 1/32. It would be fun to have them look like real jets with crazy detail. Well actually buy it with every intention of building it. Quote
Vegas Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 I know I could just keep my big ones in fighter mode, but spending $100-$250 and hardly transforming it is starting to make less sense Thanks! i myself havent transformed mostl of my valks yet, im too lazy Quote

ruskiiVFaussie Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Get one 1/144 Doyusha. They are nice and heavy. But the best by far is the 1/144 Char-Works. Pefectly done. Quote
