Clay Cliff Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 I'm scratchbuilding a 1/48 VF-1A in fighter mode, and still waiting for a friend of mine to convert some plans I found in a VF-1 book I have to 1/48... Meanwhile, I want to know some measures taken from a 1/72 VF-1... How long is the GU-11 gun pod in 1/72? I mean the gun pod in fighter mode, attached to the fighter belly (retracted)... Another thing: The diametre of the gun pod... With those two measures I can start with the gun pod and the next thing will be the cockpit interior... I have the ejection seat at 60% (will post pics soon)... Thanks a lot in advance. Regards Quote

Regards I don't hae the 1/72 Hasegawa kit in front of me so I don't know but you can check Macross Mecha Manual for the dimensions of most Valkyries to scale back down from the official specs. Its amazing how close the Yamato 1/48 Valkyrie is accurately scaled according to the specifications from that website. But I think some of the proportions may have changed to meet the accuracy requirements. Quote
Clay Cliff Posted June 13, 2008 Author Posted June 13, 2008 (edited) Yeah, I already have the Macross Mecha Manual VF-1A dimensions, but I was thinking about using this plan: I also have the top/bottom view and front/rear as well, but as you can see, the gun pod is absent, so I want to know that dimensions in the Hasegawa kit as a reference... I know, I know... The VF-1A in the plan looks a little different than other VF-1s you may have seen, but I want to make it like it... Well, still waiting for the dimensions... Regards.
