ruskiiVFaussie Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 (edited) http://www.hlj.com/product/KBYKP-56 I'm looking at getting this 1/144 scale Linebarrel mech, looks really cool. Can anyone help me with the size of this bot, i gather it's a Super robot and from the cost of it it must be rather large right? I wonder if it's around Revy VF-1 scale. Cheers! ruskiiVFaussie Posted June 13, 2008 Author Posted June 13, 2008 Enemy Mecha? (i haven't read the manga yet, wanna see if there is a dvd coming out..) Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted June 13, 2008 Author Posted June 13, 2008 lol actual size is enourmous, like 20 or more stories high. Eva clone?? I like the main charcter already, i only read the first 10 pages and it seems he's changed from a shinji- esque weakling to bad ass from exposure to the linebarrel or something with eyes (and massive!) Now where's my dvd (looks). Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted June 13, 2008 Author Posted June 13, 2008 (edited) Boy gets involved in an accident involving extraterrestrial objects crashing down on earth. Boy goes into coma. Boy wakes from said coma half a year later. Three years later he starts faction battles with his newly acquired mecha, or in this case, Machina. His Machina is called Line Barrel. So goes the premise. Shimizu Eiichi’s and Shimoguchi Tomohiro’s Kurogane no Line Barrel (鉄のラインバレル - tl. Iron Line Barrel) manga series has finally been confirmed as an upcoming 2008 TV anime. Additional info to follow at a later time. Source http://www.densetsu-shoujo.com/%E3%80%8Cku...D-gets-tv-anime coolio! Edited June 13, 2008 by ruskiiVFaussie Quote
Excillon Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 cool looking, but the lack of feet disturbs me. Sort of reminds me of ZOE. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted June 13, 2008 Author Posted June 13, 2008 (edited) There are supporting pegs/feet that come out, you can also see it with the enemy mech's toy detail. Also, those Linebarrel legs look like they open up to be honest. The actual concept of mecha (even people) with/using minimal feet support isn't that strange to me, being on the balls of your feet, extra agility, like a spring in your step. Like a martial artist, for example, me with Muay Tai, they teach you to stalk with the balls of your feet, and to stay away from falling back on your heels, which can lead to your opponent's offensive opportunities, and it's just making you slower all round. More balanced, it's easier to check kicks and ride the ring. Use of the heel should be minimal. (like regaining balance from the turn-around on a kick) I think this explains it right. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ball_of_the_foot Edited June 13, 2008 by ruskiiVFaussie Quote
electric indigo Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 (edited) The design of Linebarrel was a nice surprise for me, carrying features of the ZOE machines and a bit of Rahxephon. I ordered this WF 2008 kit from Hobbyfan http://www.hobbyfan.com/product_info.php?products_id=6234 the details are better than the Koto kit IMO. Looks like we'll also get the Bad Guy with the steak knife assortment later; and I really hope to see the orange heavy type in the future Edited June 13, 2008 by electric indigo Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted June 13, 2008 Author Posted June 13, 2008 (edited) wow the heavy orange type looks bad ass. Thanks for posting that link! I am thinking of getting that one instead of the Koto. It looks like it's bigger than the koto, and sameish price. ed* (now i read it's a kit i probably won't grab it.) Edited June 13, 2008 by ruskiiVFaussie Quote
