azrael Posted August 13, 2008 Author Posted August 13, 2008 Q: In the VFX game what's the name of the squadron? Unfortunately, it never lists what squadron you are apart of.
RF-26AAC Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Unfortunately, it never lists what squadron you are apart of. Quick question guys, at what time (US pacific) do new eps of Macross Frontier air? Thanks, RF-26 AAC
azrael Posted August 13, 2008 Author Posted August 13, 2008 Quick question guys, at what time (US pacific) do new eps of Macross Frontier air? The episode threads open exactly when Frontier airs (air times may vary from week to week) and you'll find that out in the first post of each episode thread.
sketchley Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Unfortunately, it never lists what squadron you are apart of. If I understand it correctly, it's the same squadron in both games.
Master Dex Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I thought you played Aegis Focker in both VF-X games but in VF-X2 you were newly joined to the VF-X Ravens which would indicate to me he was with someone else in VF-X. I'm not 100% sure you are playing as Aegis Focker in VF-X though as I didn't play that, I just played VF-X2 and you are definitely Aegis there.

It lists the air dates/times of most anime's. Make an account and it will even show you at what time in your region it'll air.

Yeah, you are Aegis, part of the VF-X Ravens in VF-X2, but in VF-X1 they never give a name for the squadron (if there is one), and you are just "You". The designs show your flightsuit but your character's face is never shown.
TheLoneWolf Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I would also like to know this... it's like one of the most elusive pieces of Macross information ever, I have been searching for it for over 10 years. I think the actress is Neya Michiko, but I don't know if she is the singer too. Have you checked the movie program guide for Macross Plus: Movie Edition/The Galaxy is Calling Me? It has the lyrics and titles for both of Emilia's songs, and there's some kanji above the lyrics that may include the name of the singer.

I have the Macross Plus Movie edition DVD which has some pages of the pamphlet as part of their "Digital Materials" extra feature, but I think it's mainly only the MacPlus section. I do not know if the DVD of Galaxy is Calling Me has the missing data.
TheLoneWolf Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I don't have it... Do you know where I could get some scans? I have it, I'll post some scans when I get back home later tonight. Hopefully we'll get this mystery solved.
TheLoneWolf Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Here you go. Looking back, I really hope that's not her name in English.
Renato Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Thanks, LoneWolf... but the credits on both those songs show only the Composer, Arranger and Lyricist of the music, not the singer. And in the film and on the CD, the Singer credit has always been given to Emilia Jenius with Nekki Basara" or something totally unhelpful like that. The other scan just shows the voice actress credit, which we already know is Michiko Neya. I'm tellin' ya, it's the greatest Macross mystery ever!

Yea, I am starting to believe it too. and of course, thanks TheLoneWolf, for making the effort to post those pics.
manwiththemachinegun Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Is there anyone who's subbing the special DVD extended episode 1 of Frontier? Because I can't find it anywhere.
azrael Posted August 16, 2008 Author Posted August 16, 2008 Is there anyone who's subbing the special DVD extended episode 1 of Frontier? Because I can't find it anywhere. No one has started, unfortunately. DVD versions really have no time frame since most people already have the original broadcasts. Most groups will not pick up DVD versions unless there is a push for it. It could be months before someone even decides to put out the DVD/Blu-Ray. Most groups focus on what's being broadcast now. Sorry.
Repiv_Onex Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 I have a Question! btw do everybody still remember the Promotion Video of Macross F b4 it's out? There's a white VF-25 w/ blue/purple strips, is it just a "pre-prodution" valk that has been changed/removed or is it going to show out sometime?
Master Dex Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 I have a Question! btw do everybody still remember the Promotion Video of Macross F b4 it's out? There's a white VF-25 w/ blue/purple strips, is it just a "pre-prodution" valk that has been changed/removed or is it going to show out sometime? It was just an early model it seems. By all the actions it made in the video it seems it was recolored and replaced with what eventually became Ozma's VF-25S with armor pack in episode 1 as the two make almost identical movements.
Hikuro Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Dumb question but I actually need to know so I can finish my project, the song that was used in DYRL where Hikaru and Minmay are floating on the observation/super room as he tries to convince her to sing, what was the songs title? And in which CD track is it? I thought it was Love Moment but it seems the second half of the song changes tone so it could be a combination of two. Any ideas?
RedWolf Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Question: Is Moaramia older than Komalia? I mean from what I know she was already in the Dancing Skulls in 2022. Komalia would be only 11 then. Does that mean Moaramia is clone? A non-matured Mentran?

I forget where I got the song, but it was probably just the OST for DYRL, I'm sure there is one. It starts out the same as it did in the movie.
Bri Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Moaramia joined dancing skulls in 2030. She was in her teens then so that puts her birthdate somewhere around 2015. Kamillia was born in 2011 so that would make Kamilia still the eldest. I can't really remember her story well but I think she was some kind of child prodigy meltran? Piloting a glaug at age of 6.
Zephyr01 Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Okay I have a question, I have started watching Macross Zero and I happened to notice that the last name of Mao and her older sister is Nome. So my now for my question, is Sheryl from Macross Frontier related to the sisters in Macross Zero as a great-granddaughter or something?
Master Dex Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 ok so in a plot guess it could be possible? It could be but without giving any spoilers if you haven't seen the latest on Macross Frontier it seems less likely and more likely that the name Nome, or even the entire name Sheryl Nome was given to her, so she may not be an blood descendant. However SK and Frontier have thrown us for a loop before so you never know.
RedWolf Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 How many Zentrans are there in one Adoclass fleet? Or a Moruk fleet like Lap Lapiz? I've been trying to figure out how many people are there in Chlore's fleet.
Mr March Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 (edited) It's never explicitly stated. But we could come up with a guesstimate There are 7,500,000,000 personnel in the Bodol Zer Main Fleet, aboard 4,795,122 ships. Simplistic calculation of the division of manpower gives us 1,564 troops per ship. The Adoclass fleet is made up of 1,200 ships which would translate to roughly 1,876,800 troops. Moruk LapLamiz's fleet is presented as equal to the Bodol Zer fleet, so you have the same figures. Chlore's Fleet is never given a specific number, but the Meltrans are described as outnumbering the Macross 7 fleet 500 to 1. We'd have to know the size of the Macross 7 fleet to go further, but we don't. Personally, it's always been my impression the Macross 7 fleet consists of some 50-100 vessels. It just seems like they have a very large supply of Stealth Frigates, Stealth Carriers and Escort Battle Carriers and despite losing dozens of them, they still have more. So I'd say it's a fair estimate. If we go with that assumption, you get 50,000 Meltran ships at most in the Chlore fleet. But it's just a guess. Edited August 17, 2008 by Mr March
Final Vegeta Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 It just seems like they have a very large supply of Stealth Frigates, Stealth Carriers and Escort Battle Carriers and despite losing dozens of them, they still have more. You forgot the Three Star ship. They rebuilt even Battle 7. FV
RedWolf Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Well actually built a new one. With green VF-17s as a mainline fighter for the fleet. A prelude to the VF-171?
Morpheus Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Well actually built a new one. With green VF-17s as a mainline fighter for the fleet. A prelude to the VF-171? You mean Sound Force's VF-17 Kai?
Mr March Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 No. RedWolf is referring to regular VF-17D Nightmare fighters that were green (or blue-green, if you will). They are seen in Macross Dynamite 7. I've labeled them "Teal" and included them in the M3. You can find them Here.

Oh, I see, funny that I don't remember those teal VF-17D But isn't that just a color variation, since there's barely any upgrade on those VF-17s, unlike Brando crimson/purple VF-17S in VFX-2 which is equipped with a jamming system. Btw, talking about VFX, does the Pheyos Valkyrie differs then the Varauta bomber? The Pheyos is developed from VF-11X mixed with zentreadi technology, does the Varauta using the same design for their bomber?

Morpheus Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 VAB-2 Variable Fighter-Bomber from Macross Design Works. Found the entry on the compendium, that's the Northrom [& Grumman/Mikoyan] VAB-2. So UN-Spacy did have a variable Bomber before VB-6 Konig Monster. It looks like Kawamori was inspired by B2-Spirit for the design.
