MisaForever Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Except we want to see the series last a long time. The Doctor shows up, we say bye to the Vajra and then we no longer have an enemy for our heroes to fight. However seeing the Doctor fight the Vajra would indeed be very awesome! *watches the doctor take Sheryl as his next companion * Quote
Master Dex Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Well, at least we'd have some interesting song filled episodes of Doctor Who then . I bet the Sonic Screwdriver would make a Vajra cringe, lol. Quote
ssfsx17 Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 He can't take Sheryl, she's the final Cylon. Apparently, it's standard practice for Cylons to beat up every guy they want to do it with - whether it's jumping on top of the guy and bashing his face in so he can achieve "clarity," or kicking him in the shins and kidnapping him so you can hang out at the mall. Although, I think it's much more likely that Ranka is a Cylon, since a part of her body glows when she's feeling great passion for someone else. Quote

Batou Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 I'm not so sure the Tardis was designed for evading the Itano circus. Quote

Impreszive Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Look. If we are talking about the 11th Dimension, then Buckaroo Banzai needs to show up. Quote
papabear Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 The episode was almost great until the end, don't know why Macross Quater holds the ship "mouth", just in front of its main gun, i mean nobody would try to stop someone with a gun by holding the gun while pointed at you... It was so Alto and Luca could escape. Quote
taksraven Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 The eyes of the bridge bunny with purple hair is creepy. REALLY?? I never noticed...... Taksraven Quote
MisaForever Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 REALLY?? I never noticed...... Taksraven I think she's cute in a kinda..... alien way. Quote
badboy00z Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Are there any official news that the purple fighter and company are called VF-27 and that they are NUNs fighters? I know someone posted the "VF-27" in one of the episode summary but I can't help but think it's just speculation. Same thing with the unclear "NUNs" symbol. Quote

Duke Togo Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Oh, come on, Az, the pictures are pretty clear. It is the NUNS insignia, that is the Galaxy insignia. If you want to argue they've gone renegade or may no longer be affiliated, ok, but at some point, the VF-27 was a NUNS fighter from the Galaxy. Quote

Titen-ex Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 edit: Ah crap, nevermind... I think Ranka's glowing belly can be attributed to one of two things: either her natural origin i.e. a genetic trait (Protoculture/ Mayan / Vajra) or maybe just implants from when she was on the 117th research fleet. Or maybe it's just that she had much more exposure to the Vajra than anyone when she was little ( they did test on everyone exposed to them so there must be something there). Or maybe she's wearing a belt, belly peircing that has one of those crystals. You'll notice after her belly area glows that Sheryl's earring flashes back. Quote
MisaForever Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Ok Az, I've learned my lesson. No more fan-happy threads that aren't about the show. Quote
Repiv_Onex Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 (edited) Actually it wasn't a protrusion, it was was her dress folded up. Watch it again. Just in case people missed it again, it wasn't a protrusion from Ranka! Edited May 20, 2008 by Repiv_Onex Quote
RichterX Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 REALLY?? I never noticed...... Taksraven i think she is descendant of that engineer in Macross Quote
MisaForever Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Just in case people missed it again, it wasn't a protrusion from Ranka! THANK YOU!!!!! I've been TRYING to say that!!!! Quote
RichterX Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 i also said that but seems people here like their little girls with protrusions. Quote
Duke Togo Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 I have to say, I never saw anything sticking out of her. Glow yes, protrusion no. Quote
Duke Togo Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 VF-27, NUNS fighter from the Galaxy? You decide! Quote
Heron Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 VF-27, NUNS fighter from the Galaxy? You decide! I'm convinced and everything is beginning to make sense. Quote
tennesay Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 I just had a funny thought. While watching the episode again, it occured to me that perhaps the reason for shooting the Alto's gunpod was that they were located underneath the ships reactor, fold thing whatever. I think the dude in the Vf-27 didn't want the ship to go boom with him on it. Just a thought anyway. A theory based on a subbed version I saw. Reading up on the thread and watching Macross plus again, perhaps its another fighter challenge in which the NUNS fighter is being compared to the SMS private fighter. However if true the 27 beats the 25 hands down. Quote
Proto Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Hi! Names Jason, new to the site, but not to macross/robotech. Found this site after looking for some info on Frontier. Awsome series so far, just finished watching episode 7 and wow I think I watched the space battle at least 7 times because it was off the chain including the Quarter Looking forward to future episodes! Quote
Zinjo Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Nice Catch No KIDDING! I completely missed that without my micron microscope version of Photoshop "F"... I was looking for the white insignia! I thought the other one was just a uniform patch... Very interesting, yet plausible... Quote
Master Dex Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Ok Az, I've learned my lesson. No more fan-happy threads that aren't about the show. Couldn't it have been moved to Anime or Science Fiction? I think the topic had some merit (coming from the guy who helped start it ). Quote
nemesis_trooper Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 "It kinda looks like a bebe. GET IN MAH BELLEH!!!" - Fat Bastard Actually it wasn't a protrusion, it was was her dress folded up. Watch it again. *listening to the crying game song* Quote
