IIRC, no one had to clear Plus (or II, for that matter) with HG...according to HG themselves, "no one was minding the store" (i.e.: "We had no idea how much money we could theoretically make by acting like little b!tches").

I really wish (as I think all of us do) that Bandai would take the bait and get HG into court. Put all of that hard-earned Gundam money to good use!

oh my... if Bandai took HG to court it would be "I will break you"^_^ Probably they would just buy them off and liquidate the assets. :p

We got to see Ranka in swimsuit and she had no crystal on her belly, maybe she ate it? or even more far fetch maybe she is a unique Zentraedi hybrid type which makes her a living crystal?

Anyone noticed Brera's eyes?

Yeah, he watches too much TV.

That or he has been programmed in hypnovision. Hang on, he looks a bit like this.....

I wonder if Brera has cybernetic implants. It might not be a coincidence that it was mentioned in this episode.

Any one else notice that the secondary energy weapons on the vf-25 got some love in this ep? from 6:18-6:20 ozama is using the big guns on his packs, and at 15:46-15:49 alto is using the built in beam cannons to help punch a hole in the hull. So you can't say the animators never use the cool toys. But the gun pod is still for certain the hero weapon.

Also i noticed that with Luca's RVF they don't attach the extra shield you can see at 8:14. Also one other little thing i picked up. There are some form of extra module attached to the arms of the armored type you can pick them out at around 6:29. They look like some kind of larger missile then what the rest of the armor is equipped with.

I did notice. I've been trying to keep an eye out for the uses of the secondary weapons. Always good to know they were utilized.

yeah, I've been thinking the same. Maybe Sterne has received cybernetic implants that allow him to interact with or even control the VF-27, think of it like built-in EX-Gear-control implants. That also would explain how he's able to pull off that kind of maneuvers (the whole zig-zaging sequence) while infiltrating the Vajra battleship without going Guld/Popeye inside the cockpit (which could also feature some sort of technology that allows the pilot to survive that amount of G's).

I'm getting a certain deja vu here, as in a ''Project Supernova vs X-9 Ghost'' kind of way. We know the VF-25 is currently in its final tests phase before being rolled into service, so why would they need to develop a VF-27 secretly !? I'm still not clear on something, do we know whether the 25 is a fleet-specific VF / in house (Frontier self sponsored) project or is it really supposed to step in as the main VF for every NUNS colony/fleet out there ? Maybe the VF-27 is Galaxy's self developed VF project too (would explain all the advanced tech inside the valk). Maybe someone (I'm looking at you Mr. Vilra) is trying to pull a X-9 Ghost on us again.

Also, I think someone mentioned this a few pages back, but I'm suspecting that the highly anticipated connection to MZero will be explained through this resonance gems/stones, if I remember correctly the only rocks that could fly in the M0 OVAs (including the totem) were all composed of some sort of purple rock material similar to that found on the chest of the APHOS (from where it produced blood), maybe they're related. That would explain how those rocks (and the aphos) reacted (through resonance?) to Sara's emotions.

edit: edited out last phrase due to inconsistency, sorry.

I believe so. But I'm convinced they're after the pink crystals... not the people. That's why they got Luca... because of the device in his VF. I bet Ranka has some crystal implanted in her belly too... that's why it protruded & started to glow...

Like i said, lets hope its not gonna be something like "flower-of-life" thingy :ph34r:

Why do the Vajra wanna collect these things? What do they want to do with owners of these gems? Where are they bringing them? A gathering of all gem owners?

Even though Luca was not singing, there's something about the resonance and a specific (sound?) wavelength that activates the crystal, perhaps Ranka's or Sheryl's singing/voice are coincidentally on the same wavelength. Maybe its not about voice or sound but rather emotions, esp strong emotions (brain-waves?) - like how Sheryl was feeling when she was singing, seemed to be able to transmit that voice/emotion to Alto at that time (or it could be Ranka's singing in the background).

Is the shiny thing on the left hand of Luca's VF the crystal lens thingy? Supposedly used to control ghosts? I wondered why the camera zoomed into it as if its a point of focus for Alto.

I still have no idea what Alto and gang studies in the school. What is their curriculum? Are everyone from the school potential fighter pilots, or is it a normal school with many vocations like Zentraedi farming?

The fold communications/datalink device, is labelled F.S.S.A. dunno what it stands for though. It is supposed to counter the Vajra's jamming of the ghosts via this new fold communications technology (using the crystal), and also to send visual signals n data back to Frontier at near real time (enables the President & others to watch 'live' :) ). This material/technology does not seem to be affected by fold faults, and the vajra carrier seems to have "fold reactors" which uses the same material too (thats why it can de-fold out of the fold fault without problems).

and u can see at the tip of the device, there's a gem as well.

http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/5544/fo...ondeviceag9.jpg

So this gem enables transmission of voice, data, and even allow space fold without the problems caused by the fold faults. Does this mean this is more advanced than the Protoculture technology? Or rather the Protoculture/Zentradi technology at the time of their civil war. Who knows, some PC from a certain faction might have discovered this during/after the civil war, perhaps this is also the trick to opening the gateway to the alternate universe where the Protodeviln came from.

I just presumed they had an old senile teacher that lecutre them on the history of the Third Impact Space War 1 over and over again.

which reminds me, why is that teacher using paperback books? don't they have something more advanced? like some holographic visual book?

Edit: Speaking of Zentraedi Farmers. Has anybody else wondered what a hippocow burger with hippowcow cheese would taste like? I bet it's as delicious as it is cute.

I bet it tastes like chicken. "Have you ever wondered why everything tastes like chicken?"

some animated gif i've made... maybe some one can do better ones? esp the MQ firing?

It would explain his piloting skills that seemed super human. And Shun thanks for the gifs I am going to use the ozama.

Its funny but I just noticed that the face plate of the Vf-27 resembles the face of the big red bugs. I didn't occur to me until I saw a good part of the face portion. Also the giant purple crystal is what makes of the capital ships giant ass cannon.

Just starting to watch episode 6 now but any hint of any decent NUNS pilots yet in this episode?

That goes in the episode 6 thread...

After watching Macross Seven & Macross Zero I realized the Protoculture were waaaaay more advanced than the technology used by the Zentradi. All Zentradi hardware was produced in automated factories scattered across the galaxy, so the technology was very very dated since the times of the Stellar Republic's Schism Wars from 498,140 years ago. The AFOS in the other hand was from 497,970 years ago... when humanity (a sub-Protoculture) was created from mutating the existing hominids that lived on Earth (the Birdman itself caused it). All this happened hundreds of thousands of years ago. So by now is very probable the Protoculture are extinct & the Vajra are just what is left of their biogenetic technology... (I believe the bugs could be some sort of automated defense that keeps anything out of the center of the galaxy.... where the remains of the Protoculture lived). Perhaps there's some sort of intelligent PC biomechanical device that is leading the Vajra (since they have almost no brain)... a Brainbug?.

Well... more than her emotions the AFOS seemed to react to her chant. Btw... I re-watched Zero not long ago & yes... The AFOS had lots of that purple stuff in it... (maybe it was all made of that stuff!).

The one that show up before commercial.

I was going to do an eyecatch party on Youtube when the series was over. Still think that the Ozma one was the best so far.

As I've said, I've downloaded 5 different releases and have yet to find one with the eyecatch. If there is one out there, its not being seeded by the usual sources.

What beam cannons? Those look like gunpod fire to me from Alto's fighter mode. Apart from the head lasers, were there beam cannons on Alto's VF-25?

Hmmm interesting. Does this mean this fold technology allows for instantaneous jump from say Earth to the center of the galaxy without problems of Fold Dislocations?

we really dont know much about the crystals now...IMO there should be some trade-offs, maybe there's still the energy limit - the longer the distance the more energy needed. something like that.

but as for the crystal being able to overcome the fold faults (is this what u meant?), then yes it seems like it. so without fold faults, less energy is required for the space fold. if fold accidents were caused by fold faults, that means this tech is safer.

Awesome GIFs! Can I have the one with Ozma? :D

Sure! glad u like it ;)

I think so. Sorry about that one tho. I'm just so anxious, waiting for the new episode to get fansubbed! lol. I'm actually waiting for the AiA ones(or any other high quality non mkv ones) because you can totally watch avi/divx/xvid/mp4s the on the XBOX 360. Anybody else doin that? :)

Hey, at least it's not punching holes in the floor when it walks!

As for the eyecatch...well, there'll always be the DVD version; that should have it.

I've got my PS3 hard drive stocked, but I kind of wish AIA was slightly higher resolution. I kind of like Gattai better overall (including the more literal translations), but consoles can't play MKV containers sadly. If the overall series quality stays high I'm sure I'll get the Blu-rays off Amazon Japan or something. What resolution/sound quality are Shinsen files, btw?

Gattai has been pretty good about getting the sub out the last few Sundays, I'm really hoping today is no exception.

Indeed. I hope the HQ raw delay doesn't slow them down, although if they want to use it as an excuse they're more than welcome to

Seriously, I try not to be impatient when it comes to fansubbers. They work for free to bring us something that we otherwise probably wouldn't get, so if they need to take their time it's okay with me.

That said, I hope they get it out today... I gotta say that this ep is the first one that really felt 'Macrossy' to me. Anyone else feel that way?

I can never seem to get my 360 to play mp4s.

Drives me nuts.

Count yourself lucky your 360 even works. :D

Fansubs may be a little late this week, considering the trouble with the RAWs.
