jet660
Hi Guys, I went to a local hobby shop in LA to pick up my second Megahouse Mospeada Stick Ride Armor. Everything look the same, except it had a Toynami/HG sticker on it. So, I talked to the boss and found out that Toynami has exclusive distribution rights to Macross and Mospeada items entering the US. He mention to me that Toynami distributed the Ride Armors in mid-March, which was one month after Megahouse did in Japan. What Toynami is trying to do is to purchase all the rights to distribute the toys ahead of time and sync with the Japanese release date. This means you may possibly have Yellow Belmont and Bandai 1/55 Super Max and Hikaru VF-1As in your local hobby and anime shops around the same time it is release in Japan. Prices should be slightly below the Japanese retail. The boss also mention that Toynami will most likely slap their stickers covering the Japanese dist. companies to save money from redesigning the entire package as well as to save cost. Right now, the 2 Bandai VF-1As, VF-1J, VF-1S are confirm to be release during the summer. However, there should be more Macross toys coming in later this year. Here are the pics of the Toynami/HG sticker. P.S. There might be a possible delay with the release of the Toynami's Beta fighter this coming summer. Could be a connector or production problem. fifbeat
Interesting. The sticker thing is tacky; You'd think they'd at least repackage the items with their own Toynami boxes. It would get them some respect for something they couldn't produce themselves. =) Besides, they're good at making boxes. It's official. Toynami is officially the "Tai Seng of the toy business." I'm about to get some cyclones myself. Please tell me how those are (and yes, I've been reading all what was said about them, but one more guy wouldn't hurt). (Topic change below: Don't read! Very important stuff!!!) Not to change or bring another topic in this thread or anything, but the CM's look cheapo. It's B.S. that people are choosing that over the Megahouse ones, just because the size of the tire is a little off. Look at the CM's. That low budget blue on his arms and legs makes the rest of him look like he's yellow'd out from cigarettes. PLUS, there's not detail on their face. Look, if you're buying a figure based on a character you like, put a little quaility in the head, alight??) Edited May 11, 2008 by fifbeat

You can't get mad at someone for liking something different than you. Personally...I don't care for the CM ride armor....I like the MH....but I like the CM Legioss/TREAD and wish MH would make one too.

Beware of Blast
I said could because you never know if Beagle is using the same Chinese factories as Yamato, eh? But don't go into that - I REALLY want Beagle to succeed.
