As in I don't find her character useful so I want her dead. -Can they stick a big stick into Sylar's head? I wanted him dead last season. -Suresh is turning into the Human Spider, (not Spiderman). Someone forgot to tell him about the "With great power comes..." line? His character was all "RAGE!" in episode 1, then in episode 2, he's "Oops." Someone forgot to tell him he's an idiot. He's got all of Spiderman's abilities but none of the character.... -Why isn't Maya dead? -They brought back Ali Larter to play a cryokinetic twin... -And on that note, seriously, I wanted people dead. Why are they back this season? At least it's off to a better start than last season. Quote

No, i don't want her dead. rather, i would like her to be kept unconscious and tied up in a lab somewhere, where they would draw fresh vials of her blood whenever a hero needs healing. Now THAT'S being useful! Edited September 23, 2008 by dreamweaver13 Quote
Wes Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Question--did I completely miss/forget something? Why does locking yourself in a closet completely protect you from Sylar? Even if he's only got a few powers back, he has enough TK to close every door and window in the house and throw Claire up against the wall. Surely he could break a bike lock. Or just rip the doors off the hinges. For most of that I was thinking it was a dream sequence, because it was so corny. I was thinking they'd play it smarter, haver her do more sneak attacks. But again we have the main "heroes'" abilities to size up the obvious less than even mine. Makes that Dark Helmet sig all the more relevent to this show. But at leas they found some mechanism that gives Hiro some limitations. Quote
Roy Focker Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I can easily explain that. You see the linens in that closet were cleaned by Oxyi-Clean, the Stain Specialist. The power of Oxygen infused with the cleaning power of water energized those clean linens. Any one who knows a thing about chemistry knows that is such a reaction reduces all super powers. Quote

azrael Posted September 23, 2008 Author Posted September 23, 2008 http://www.variety.com/article/VR111799266...yid=14&cs=1 At NBC, the two-hour season premiere of "Heroes," marking the show's first original episode in nine months, averaged a 4.9/12 in 18-49 and 9.9 million viewers overall from 9 to 11 p.m., following a one-hour recap special at 8 o'clock (2.6/7 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall). Though a solid number, "Heroes" was down vs. its firstrun average of last fall (5.2 in 18-49) Guess we'll see next week if this was a fluke or not. Quote

See my friends and I wrote off to Sylar being cute and toying with her, he had cornered the mouse and was playing with it. Now my serious question, and I'll stay away from time travel because it is just a deal breaker for me, they have to kill all the time travel characters immediately if they want the show to not seem retarded week in and week out, but back to my question. Why isn't Sylar dead? He was knocked unconscious two or three times in that episode by people who had every motivation in the world to end his life and nobody pulled the trigger. They built him up to be the unstoppable living embodiment of evil, and I know they are supposed to be Heroic Fine Claire couldn't finish him off after she KO'ed him with the trophy and all, but HRG had him K.O'ed first by shooting him, put some bullets n the brain pan then pick up a tray and beat his head till it is red paste on the floor. Notice like Claire when he gets "killed" he is unconscious for a little while while regen takes place, and also like Claire, a stick stuck in a vital organ seems to keep her down until it can be removed. Then after electro girl (W/E her name is) shocked him out, seriously, the company people hadn't learned their lesson? Mohinder Brundle Fly, hooray, I expect to see his penis in a jar in the bathroom within the next three episodes. things I was happy about, Nikki having different powers with different personailities, sweet jebus, three years later and finally that character is interesting. The Greatest American Hero Cameo, Hooray. Sylar's nod to fan speculation about how he gets his powers "That would be gross" Quote

But the fangirls won't let that happen so it's a pipedream. As for Claire not finishing of Sylar, I'd get the frakk out of Dodge too if a guy I thought was dead was in my bedroom. Guys a zombie and without any weapons she's just a "victim". Curious to see how they power her up with some offensive weaponry this season. HRG did try to kill him. All his shots hit him, center mass. Sylar WAS dead. I don't think HRG knew Sylar had Claire's power or he wouldn't have stopped shooting until he was a red stain. Besides it gave Elle time to do her Pikachu impression. Really, these first couple of episodes should be the setup for (hopefully) all out war at the end. It's Heroes/Villains after all. Quote

So true. Getting sick of "Oh the future's so screwed up, let's fix it in the past" storylines. Still much better than S2 though. What I want to know though is if Peter trapped in the evil guy's body, does he have any powers, just that guys power, or any of his original powers? It seems he doesn't have his original powers otherwise he would have phased through the walls. vinnie Quote

Can't we ever focus on the here-and-now? Everybody fraks up sometime in their life. This is why we have this: "Hindsight is 20/20". Quote
Repiv_Onex Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 So true. Getting sick of "Oh the future's so screwed up, let's fix it in the past" storylines. First of all, please pardon my English. Personally I feel that the "Oh the future's so screwed up, let's fix it in the past" storylines are the tradition/core/main plot(sigh, can't find a right word for this) of Heroes, just like Terminator (whether movies or series), it's all talking about Skynet and how to stop or prevent it(That's why ppl loves it and hates it, bcos they are the "same"). It wouldn't be Terminator if they use other plots rather than John Connor or Skynet as the main Storyline. My understanding is Heroes will always adapt the idea of "Future, Present, Past". Just my 2cents. O and let's hope S3 will be better, S2 was awful. Quote
Ghadrack Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 What I want to know though is if Peter trapped in the evil guy's body, does he have any powers, just that guys power, or any of his original powers? It seems he doesn't have his original powers otherwise he would have phased through the walls. vinnie In my opinion, with the Sylar and Mohinder "powers are due to a defect or difference in the anatomy" explanation, Peter would have the guy whose body he is trapped in's powers, but not know how to use them because the hero's all seem to learn from use or something like muscle memory. If I had to guess, they specifically didn't say what his power is on purpose, Future Peter has somehow gained the power to transfer people out of their body and into another. That makes for a couple possibilities, it's a stretch, but possibly,, future Peter isn't really Peter but a villain who stole his body. It is poszsible that the guy whose Body Peter is now trapped in has the power to transfer bodies, maybe Future Peter came back and took his power and dumped Present Peter in his body. Who knows, they could literally make it be anything, Mighty Mouse's dyslexic pychic cousin could teleport in and steal his body. Ripev_Onex your English was very clear and easy to understand. I know what you mean about Heroes relying upon Time Travel, I think it is unfortunate though because it causes so many plot holes sometimes and leaves the show open to sloppy, short-cut endings that are unsatisfying. I genuinely believe they could improve the overall quality of the show if thye removed that element, or at least severely restrained it. The should kill off Peter, who is basically God when you consider that he can time travel and absorb the powers of any Hero that exists giving him infinite power to stop anything before it happens or intevene in any activity and even multiple activities happening in the same moment in time all over the planet, and then let Hiro have a Moral Crisis and banish Himself to a cave in the Hymalayas to ponder the universe and provide wisdom to the other Heroes when there is a dire crisis pending but refuse to intervene due to his chances to destroy the space time continuum. They could do the same with Peter, he realizes how badly he can screw up everything and removes himself from the game to ascend to some form of minor diety-hood, which might be a better idea because he has already sort of shifted from inherently good to a more neutral character wih his capacity for violence (If that is really Peter). Dobber Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Frankly i'm just tired of the bad guys always seeming to have the upper hand and the "heroes" only win through chance. Also, Sylar seems to learn how to use new powers pretty damn quick yet many of our heroes seem to still need alot of practice....particularly Peter. I really hated how last season He pretty much got his ass kicked and I don't even think landed a single blow against Sylar in their final battle. Just getting kinda of tired of incompitent heroes and nearly unstoppable villians. At least give us one bad ass hero that even the big baddies will think twice about messing with. Chris Quote
mechaninac Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 The one thing going through my mind as I watched Dr. Suresh's transformation was that he has turned himself into Brundell Fly. So far the 3rd season is off to a respectable start; I hope it gets better or at least doesn't degenerate into the convoluted mess that was season 2. Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 I enjoyed this two new episodes, sorta tryed to fixed the f*ck up last season was but it sorta makes no sense how come there's another Nikki all of the sudden that no one knew about? Maya? why isn't she dead and where is she getting all this new fashionable cloths, makeup and blower if she just arrived from south america, and what happen to useless muscle girl and that stupdi kid? wait wait...better not ask about useless characters, hahaha and man, just when I was starting to enjoy future peter doing whatever he felt like, he started wussing out again... pussy anyway, seems good... Dangard Ace Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 The H.R.G. Files http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/blogs.../the-hrg-files/ Short synopsis: Hayden = Evil. SO would have asked her out if I was in high school with her. Episode 3 = Villainous action abound. Yes! Actors physical fitness as described by Jack Coleman: Hayden: Athletic and fearless. Adrian: Navy S.E.A.L. In absurd physical condition. Zach: Strong, flexible yoga-meister. Sendhil: Professional tennis player, zero body fat. Milo: Wrestler, wiry, strong, great at stunts. Dania: New York tough. Athletic, zero body fat. James: Ripped, strong. Masi: Surprisingly athletic. Good at many sports. Ask Adrian. Ali: Workout fiend, in incredible shape, zero body fat. Jimmy Jean-Louis: Fuggedaboutit. Adonis. Grunny: Don't be fooled by his size. Nimble and athletic and scary strong. He once grabbed me by my elbows and bench-pressed me like you would your six year-old nephew. I'm 6'2, 185 lbs. Chris Rose: The only cast member older than me. A dancer, Chris can probably kick my ass. Me: Ex-basketball player. Trying to fill in my athletic resume with recent activities, like... I used to play basketball. At Duke. (Junior Varsity. Don't get excited, they don't even have it anymore.) I hardly ever play these days for fear of an elbow to the face, broken limbs, torn ligaments --- all of which I've experienced in the past. Now, it would put me out of commission. And I can't afford to be out of commission. Quote

Like I mentioned before, with all the powers available to make up or rip off, it kinda sucks they are already reusing powers. Claires Mom and now the fire guy that escaped out of Primatech Kristen Bell and future Ando The guy who's body Peter was trapped inside and the Mailman from the webisodes It's a good thing Sylar has all those powers, because if the guy shouted at him and he couldn't immobolize him, he'd be pretty messed up having the super hearing he stole from the female mechanic Quote
Dangard Ace Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I'm actually disappointed in the episode. All that build up for Level 5 - sylar-powerful villains, all get taken out with Force Grip and a bullet without even getting one good shot in. These weren't villains, these were chumps. Hopefully the remaining 8(out of 12) villains can actually be villains. Quote

glane21 Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Ok, how did future Claire kill future Peter by shooting him? Does he not have her healing power also? He should not be able to be killed, like her and Sylar. How would he have a scar for that matter, it should heal. And why is current Peter so lame? During that showdown in Sylar's house all he needed to do was stop time. That would have frozen everyone except the speed chick and even she would only be moving at regular speeds, easy to take out. Of course he would have her speed power as soon as she came near him anyway. Bad writing. Quote

Maybe Peters healing "mimicry" can't heal to the extent Claire's does so his body thinks it's default state is 5mins (random arbitrary number) in the past or when it was last active, unlike Claires which knows what her body is supposed to be always. True, but current Peter uses Hiro's powers quite often and even does so in the very next scene, so he appears to be proficient with them. The only way I could see Claire's shooting him be fatal (at least temporarily) would be if she shot him in the head and left the bullets in the brain. Kind of the same way the splinter in her head kept her dead until it was removed. But it was clear that she had shot him in the chest. And considering she once came back to life while being half dissected on an autopsy table, a chest wound should not keep him down. Quote
badboy00z Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 (edited) I also wondered why future Peter has a scar and how he can die. Also why is it that every time the victim knocks out a bad guy, they run away? Especially with someone like Sylar. The hero always makes the mistake of not finishing the job. 1) Mohinder not grabbing the gun and shooting Sylar in the head when he was knocked out after he killed Peter. 2) Hiro and Claire not cutting off/ stab his head. 3) Noah not shooting him in the head. WTF is wrong with them? Sylar wanted to have all that power to satisfy his "hunger" so he killed. Peter doesn't need to kill to obtain power so why would Peter need to cut Nathan's head open?
