Uxi Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Season 2 blew chunks. Hopefully Season 3 can recapture some of Season 1.... Sylar should have died, though, as should Peter. Grumble, grumble. Quote
Wes Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 3 Hr premier? Show me some of it now instead you jerks Quote

cube Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 word...too many useless new characters and bad actors in season 2. if sylar didn't die, he should have been saved by some uber villain guy and became his lacky (sylar is more of a violent sidekick type of character than a main villain/mastermind). They really shouldn't have killed off Lindeman either. He had potential to be pretty cool and he died like a chump from a 2nd tier character. Quote
azrael Posted May 19, 2008 Author Posted May 19, 2008 I guess this answers Niki's status this coming season. http://www.superherohype.com/news/topnews.php?id=7225 Quote
justvinnie Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Great so she's still around. What was her purpose in S2 again? Sigh, maybe S3 will be good. Tha actors seem excited. i gues that's a good sign. vinnie Quote
Alpha OTS Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Season 2 blew chunks. Hopefully Season 3 can recapture some of Season 1.... Sylar should have died, though, as should Peter. Grumble, grumble. I have the rest of season 2 just waiting for me to watch it. Problem is, I can't bring myself to. After the first two episodes you find out that *EVERYONE* survived the massive conclusion of season 1. It really killed the punch season 1 had, and really cheapened it. I mean, if you want to have these guys survive, ok, but don't reintroduce them all within two stinking episodes(Sylar was in the previews indicating that he too survived at this point). And then they went and killed Sulu. Meh. At one point I'll pick back up on it, I'm sure. Quote
Scream Man Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 I didnt like S2 as much as S1, vut at the same time i didnt think it was as bad as many people said it was. i also hated that all the players from S1 survived. Quote
EXO Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 I agree. Sylar should have died. He's such a useless character now. Season 2 blows! Quote
chowyunskinny Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 A taste of the “Heroes: Origins” series that never came to pass? Quote
chowyunskinny Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 teaser vid for Season 3 Is that Mohinder getting powers and hooking up with Maya? They are the 2 most annoying characters, they deserve each other. Quote
Uxi Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Maybe they call pull a "stepping out of the shower" and still have Sylar die with Nathan... it was all in Peter's head as a "what if?" Quote
Dangard Ace Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Was at the sdcc Heroes panel. Saw 1hr of Heroes S3 Eps1. It's like S1. eps1 again. Talk about it. It's back to being good. Quote
Wes Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 So nobody excited that a week from now we should be getting new Heroes episodes? Quote
Dangard Ace Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Yeah I'm interested but it's still a week a way and I'd rather not spoil the first hour for you guys by talking about it now. Plus I've got two seasons of BD discs to run through so I'm in the midst of a refresher. Just finished S1 disc 1. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I haven't even watched the trailer. I hate spoilers, or even "hints". PS---the graphic novels have been very "side-story"ish lately. Little point reading them if you haven't been, easily skippable. (It used to be that the graphic novels filled in gaps between eps, or expanded on character's backgrounds---now it's "new minor character of the week that'll never be mentioned again") Quote
justvinnie Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I haven't even watched the trailer. I hate spoilers, or even "hints". PS---the graphic novels have been very "side-story"ish lately. (It used to be that the graphic novels filled in gaps between eps, or expanded on character's backgrounds---now it's "new minor character of the week that'll never be mentioned again") Agreed. Why didn't the Company just shoot Root on sight and put an end to the silliness this last chapter? Why did EVS Dropper set up such a poor trap? I mean they LURED the Company in using Penny posing as Donna. Why did they have Root at ground zero where he can get hurt? Initial reactions say S3 is good. I hope so, because I really don't have the motivation to actually watch it just yet after last S2 and the lame web comics. I love S1 so much that I been giving this series a chance. Peter and Sylar must absolutely die this season. They are so overpowered, who among the rest of them can actually stop these two? Also why has Peter not absorb every power Sylar has? Why just TK? vinnie Quote
azrael Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 I wish to never see season 2 ever again. One thing I'd wish for them to do would be to have a few non-serial episodes. One thing about comics is that after a major arc, the writer takes a break and does a few singles, or two-part set, or something to break the suspense/tension/etc or we get a stand-in writer to write a few short stories. With the show, and certainly coming out of last season, I never felt I got a break. From the looks of things, season 3 will probably be the same as the previous. I don't know about the rest of you, but I find it mental draining to follow something week after week, time after time. It would be nice to have a few stand-alone episodes this season to break-up the serialization. Quote
Dangard Ace Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 They were trying to do the stand alone story arcs in season two. Hiro in feudal Japan, Sylar and the Wonder Twins, etc. That didn't really pan out well. Season 3 starts off with a bang....and it's Goooooooodddd. At least the first hour. It's got my stamp of approval that it's as good as S1 eps1. Quote
Wes Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 They were trying to do the stand alone story arcs in season two. Hiro in feudal Japan, Sylar and the Wonder Twins, etc. Yeah, as I recall half of MW hated that stuff. They were talking about doing a few extras for the "summer" in-between seasons but with the writers strike those were quickly scrapped. Quote
Vermillion21 Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Never caught season 2 - loved season 1 on DVD. Am debating whether to buy S2 or not ... but it looks like everyone's in agreement that S2 was CRAP, correct? Can I skip S2 and just start watching season 3 now? Quote
David Hingtgen Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Yup. A one or two paragraph plot summary should do for Season 2. Quote
Max Jenius Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I could never get into this show. It just seemed too pretentious to me with little or no reason to be. The narrator always sounded a lot more pleased/excited about what was going on than I ever was. Quote
rubi Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 (edited) Watch the first season which was well made, then the first five episode of the second season and I dropped it like Code Geass.... What 's with that come back in a feudal time and with this woman who kill people out of emotion ? Too much for me... Wait to see for the season 3.... Edited September 19, 2008 by rubi Quote
David Hingtgen Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 It's on (in the US) in 55 mins. Just a warning/notice. Quote
Dangard Ace Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 2mins to go. I'm glad I got back from Hockey in time. Quote
Dangard Ace Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Season 3 Eps 2 favorite moment so far. Pikachu : Thunderbolt attack! 2nd: Sylar tossing those cops around like it was a 60's movie flick. Quote
Dangard Ace Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Ando's hadoken beats all. That was episode 1. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Geez, ep 2 wasn't even OVER in the US when you posted that. As for ep 2---heck, I like any scene with ma Petrelli. Quote
bob joe mac Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 10x better then season 2 thank god hope it stays that way. andos kamehameha was awesome and lol at the plague boils and three cheers for useless secondary characters not being in it so far Quote
David Hingtgen Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Question--did I completely miss/forget something? Why does locking yourself in a closet completely protect you from Sylar? Even if he's only got a few powers back, he has enough TK to close every door and window in the house and throw Claire up against the wall. Surely he could break a bike lock. Or just rip the doors off the hinges. Quote
