miles316 Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 I'm expecting Dr. Venture Senior to pop back up as the leader of Sphinx. Don't know why, probably because of the O.R.B last year has got me to thinking that Senior is out there behind the scenes and working opposite the "Good Guys"; assuming O.S.I really is the "good guys". That does sound like a plausible theory about Venture senior with his apparent death happening before Brock joined the O.S.I. In the Marvel comics did it not turn out that SHELD was being controled by HYDRA in secret, and O.S.I is a spoof of SHELD. Their is also that convoluted code of conduct that the O.S.I and The Guild of Clematis Intent have between themselves. It is possible that Sphinx is actually a group of good guy being persecuted by the world order, for the hole show is a giant spoof of the hole cartoon industry. Quote
ShadowValkyrie Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Think about it, it was implied in the previous season that what's going on is more or less a big game for Super Scientists and Super "Villains" as a means to keep them from taking it out on the general public. Though the Monarch seems to take it deadly serious in regards to Rusty-- I think the phrase was "real hate". How Sphinx fits into that: another facation, a real group, or a "common enemy" for the two is unkown at this point. Quote
miles316 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I think Kevin Conroy playing the voice of Cap Sunshine was superb on tonights episode. So 21 Fancy's him self a bad ass now? Quote

protostar8 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Tonight's episode was hilarious! Funny the whole way through, no confusing b/s like last week. Another classic episode. BTW, laughed so hard at Dr. Mrs. The Monarch's "half" tan. That was great! Quote
Agent ONE Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 It is possible that Sphinx is actually a group of good guy being persecuted by the world order... ... Yeah man! Like the Republican Party!! Quote
Keith Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 ... Yeah man! Like the Republican Party!! Who mentioned the Nazi's? Quote
Keith Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Since no one else is gonna say it, i will. "Who the hell was that." lol. Quote
protostar8 Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 I didn't like this one on Sunday all that much to be honest. The show needs more Brock. Don't get me wrong, it had it's moments, but the episode overall just wasn't that funny to me. Quote

Don't get me wrong, it had it's moments, but the episode overall just wasn't that funny to me. Yes Brock has and always will be my biggest draw. But it can't be all about him. I enjoyed it but the 2nd show is the best so far. And who else knew right off those were Sgt Hatred's computers? Quote
Mog Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 "You know what 'brown' can do for me? He can mind his own business!" Quote

Keith Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Wait I don't have the shining? Dammit! shhh, we can't let the white folk catch on! Quote
Keith Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Kudo's to The Monarch for getting the moppets to STFU! Quote
Tober Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Every time I see Venture Brothers I have to wonder how much stuff is referenced that I don't know about. For anyone wondering wtf the deal was with that wizard throwing tennis balls and yelling " ". Quote
bigkid24 Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Here's something to get us in the holiday mood. Henchmen 21 and 24 singing a holiday favorite. http://www.smodcast.net/holidayhavoc/ventu...ristmastime.mp3 Quote

HappyPenguins Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 tonight's episode was farting awesome! had to get that off my chest hehe Quote
Mog Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 They finally brought Brock F***in' Sampson back. I'd expect nothing less than greatness. Though, I gotta admit Dean's "Hey Triana! Can I pet your pussy?" two episodes ago had me absolutely rolling! Quote
miles316 Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 I think the Brockness monster is his Coolest kill in all the series. Quote
Greyryder Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 It's Petey! I can't believe Brock let 21 live after attacking him, like that. I loved the bit after the credits. Quote
reddsun1 Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Just watched new ep... OMFG!!! 21 fought Brock! And LIVED!!!!! This has got to be unprecedented or something. [that should go in the "greatest fights ever" thread too, I guess] 21 is actually turning out to be an ass-kicker?! Up is down. The spiral comes undone. The world has truly gone topsy-turvy. Quote
Seto Kaiba Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 21 is actually turning out to be an ass-kicker?! Up is down. The spiral comes undone. The world has truly gone topsy-turvy. Since the show's main theme is failure, does that mean 21's failure has come full circle and now he's a failure at being a failure? This is some seriously Zen poo now. I missed the episode when it went to air because the cable was out, but I caught it on adultswim.com when they posted it the following Monday, and I was pleasantly surprised. A lot of season 4 hasn't really thrilled me, but I liked "The Better Man" and this latest episode was IMHO the best of the season so far. Brock's back, that business from the first episode of the season is explained, and they've finally stopped fixating on jokes about Sergeant Hatred being a pedophile. Quote
Mog Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 I'm surprised no one brought this thread back up, since the newest episode aired last Sunday. I thought the Hank training montages were mildly amusing. Quote
reddsun1 Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Wow, there's a surprise. I'd pretty much written The Venture Bros off. Figured it was going to be just another funny little show that had run its course, come and gone. It was pretty good though. "So how are we gonna get 'em out of there? Oh, you gotta be kidding me!" -Snowblind- Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 This is easily one of the funniest shows (perhaps the funniest?) on TV right now. Season 4.5 is off to a good start... here's hoping for a season 5... Quote

kanedaestes Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 I believe they have all ready confirmed there will be a season 5, but don't quote me on that Quote
-Snowblind- Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 I've seen the second half of season 4 referred to as season 5 because of the huuuuuuge break, but technically it's all one season. Haven't heard anything about a season 5, unfortunately. Quote
Max Jenius Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 This is one of the few shows I can really count on to be thoroughly entertaining every time I watch it. I'm so far behind though when I try to watch the new ones I'm so lost. I need to beg my wife to be dress as Dr. Girlfriend's new outfit ... Quote
kanedaestes Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 I remember sometime last year they had mentioned it. That after season 4.5 there will be the season finally around Christmas this year, and then a season five later. Quote
kanedaestes Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Also got the music of JG Thirwell: The Venture Brothers soundtrack. It's awesome of course and I highly recommend to all fans. Quote
