Nexx Stalker Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 So, still no hi-res scans of VF27 and Macross Quarter?
Super Ostrich Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I decided to drop the Episode 11 summary from the official site (http://www.macrossf.com/story/story_list.html) into Babelfish to see what came up - Original Japanese version - 映画出演により、注目され始めたランカは、忙しい毎日が続いていた。 After being mangled by Babelfish - By movie performance, as for [ranka] which starts being observed, busy every day was continued. On the one hand, arrow Saburo who is the sibling child before the alto appears suddenly. Because the father stormy warehouse of alto collapsed, in order to return to the house, arrow Saburo who cautions alto. Such a thing you do not know, that you probably will celebrate the birthday of the respective alto, you plan [ranka] and [shieriru]. So it looks like we're going to meet Alto's brother(?), Saburo, in episode 11. I'm guessing he's the guy in the middle picture on the episode 11 page. Some corrections: By movie performance, as for [ranka] which starts being observed, busy every day was continued. On the one hand, Shisaburo who is Alto's formal fellow disciple appears suddenly. Shisaburo urges Alto to return home because Alto's father, Ranzou, fell ill. Not knowing this situation, Ranka and Sheryl each plans her own birthday party for Alto
Morpheus Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Hmm, this news must be taken with a grain of salt since I took it from 4chan Info for MF's new OP and ED below: Macross F new OP/ED OP = Lion (May'n & Nakajima) ED = Northern Cross (May'n)
Westlo Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Hmm, this news must be taken with a grain of salt since I took it from 4chan Info for MF's new OP and ED below: Macross F new OP/ED OP = Lion (May'n & Nakajima) ED = Northern Cross (May'n) It's true and it looks like they copy and pasted my post from AnimeSuki... oh well not like I don't do the same Old news too, Mike has it on his GR website awhile ago and it was posted on these forums before that http://gabrielarobin.com/244/new-maynmegum...ier-single-lion
mike_s_6 Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 (edited) It's official guys, May'n said so. http://mayn.horipro.jp/blog/2008/06/index.html Look for the post with the image of a lion. EDIT: Actually, I first saw it in COMA, but they didn't have the tracklist. I frantically Googled for this just to find a more official source. Then I went to YKFan to do more research, and they (un)surprisingly had it. And then I found out it's May'n who posted about it Edited June 11, 2008 by mike_s_6

Is there any significance in this being May'n instead of Sheryl Nome starring May'n or are they just trying to save space on the name lol?
mike_s_6 Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 (edited) Is there any significance in this being May'n instead of Sheryl Nome starring May'n or are they just trying to save space on the name lol? Well I wish there is a significance, I like the "May'n voice" more than the "Sheryl Nome starring May'n voice". But the chances are slim, this is a Macross CD we're looking at and she should sing the Sheryl way to be consistent. Or else, people might ask, who is that singing with Ranka eh?! Westlo Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 (edited) Episode 10 Rating = 1.5% Japanese blog *1.5%(*1.0%) 06/06 26:10-26:40 TBS マクロスFRONTIER http://happyuki-blog.at.webry.info/200806/article_30.html Looks like it aired later than it usually does, I wouldn't be too worried about the ratings anyway.. Code Geass and Haruhi were both rating 1-2% and went on to sell massively on dvd. (only shows to avg more than those 2 on dvd are Eva, MSG, SEED Destiny, SEED & Zeta Gundam). Also these are TBS ratings... MBS broadcasts it the day before.. and you know if if I were in the Tokyo region.. I'm downloading the show (or watching it on NicoNico) and watching in Friday afternoon.. not staying up to 2 am to watch it.. d3v Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Damn, thought it was a pic of a Q-Rea model before I clicked on it. Still, that's some good pics there, I'm sure Marchy-boy could use that one of the back.
Mr March Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 (edited) The rear picture of the Queadluun-Rea is a little small, but I'll take what I can get From Model Graphix Oh, look what we have here. A mention of the Su-27 in an article about the VF-25? (grins evily) Edited June 11, 2008 by Mr March

The fact that TBS gets the show a full day after MBS also does help explain the number it gets, just take Library Wars for instance. It's only shown on one channel, Fuji TV and that is only avaliable in the Tokyo area. That show just about is in the top 5 rated shows every week with 3.0 as an average. You're also right about the sales of the DVDs for Frontier. If the singles and OST sales is anything to go by, it is very popular over there at the moment and we can expect the DVD will sell like crazy next month. That said we here probably like to rake over the ratings anyway since it's kinda fun and being fans would like to see it do well. If for nothing else but to celebrate everytime it beats CC.

But the DVDs don't have subtitles, so the non-Japanese speaking community will not be buying full-force, unlike the CDs which are not very language-dependent.
Strumvogel Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 But the DVDs don't have subtitles, so the non-Japanese speaking community will not be buying full-force, unlike the CDs which are not very language-dependent. I don't know about that. You're talking about the overall sales including the online stores. The OST sales in Akihabara alone was tremendous with stores running out of stock by the end of the release day date. Granted Akihabara stores tend to release their stuff for sale one day early of the set release date but you get the idea. You basically can't find a copy anywhere there by the end of the day. Now unless there was an invasion of western otaku tourists that day at Akihabara(Oh alright, so when is it not? But bear with me on this one...), that pretty much gives us an idea of the popularity of the show there at the moment. And I think the DVD sales will reflect that.
Zinjo Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 (edited) But the DVDs don't have subtitles, so the non-Japanese speaking community will not be buying full-force, unlike the CDs which are not very language-dependent. I dunno, I think the amount of cosplay costumes on sale on YHJ as well at cons is another indicator. Costumers won't go to all the trouble of making original costumes if there isn't a market or desire to wear it... As for the BD discs, we still don't know if there is an English sub track. It could be something they are keeping quiet during the pre-order period. If word got out that there was an English track (assuming there is) then the pre-orders would get a boost but the profit margins would be poor since pre-orders tend to sell for less than release date orders. Super Ostrich Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Wait, wait, Su-27 as opposed to VF-27? Hmm... I think you are referring this sentence: ファイ夕ー時のツルエットはSu-27のような「鶴首」が雰囲気を出している It says: "Its profile at Fighter mode resembles 'crane head' of Su-27".
azrael Posted June 12, 2008 Author Posted June 12, 2008 MWUHAHAHAHAHA! I am vindicated *BIG evil grin* Keep in mind, that's the writer of the article saying that.
