scand Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 I know this question has been asked a million times. but please bare with me and help me out. I'm doing a custom 1/60. I've used a Tamiya primer for plastic and metal(which seems to be holding well) also I have Tamiya acrylics on top. But what to use for clear coat? I was going to use future until I read the Future topic. May cause yellowing . H'mm I'll stay away from that. I've also used testors before. That stuff yellowed bad. Does Tamiya make a clear coat? What else is out there? Thanks Quote
Less than Super Ostrich Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 I like my PolyScale clear coat. I hate PolyScale paints, but the clear coats are pretty nice, IMHO Quote
Grayson72 Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Wrong forum, you should try your question in the "How to customize Macross Toys" forum. There's probably more people who could answer your question. Quote
wm cheng Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 I've used my ModelMaster Acryl clear coats (which I use on models) on the toys, and so far they seem to hold up well. Now, I don't transform them everyday though. The Tamiya clear coat - only the glossy clear coat can be applied straight or thinned from the bottle, the flat must be mixed with a paint. Good luck. scand Posted October 28, 2003 Author Posted October 28, 2003 Thanks For the input. I'm going to be making a trip to the hobby store tommorow and see what they've got. I don't see how my question is not relevant to this forum. Since, Tamiya paint is a hot brand when it comes to macross models. I got the best of the best answering my questions in here Quote
