Nausica Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 hi... well fore some time now (20years) i have been wondering what they are? (look at picture) maybe i have been to ignorant to know or just not payed any attention! they look like handles that u can turn to take off hatch or something? Quote
Straycatt Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 They serve two purposes. 1. As tie down chain connection points/ 2. As reaction control/maneuvering thrusters while operating in a vacuum. Quote

007-vf1 Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Yes those are it. This adds incredible maneuverability to the valk. HLJ have them as photo etched type but they lack the physical dept they might need to look like the original part. Quote
Valk009 Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 I believe either WAVE or Kotobukiya makes spares and come in various sizes. They might not be exactly the same ones as found on the Hasegawa kits but a good start for scratch builds or kit bashing. Quote
TSP Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 (edited) Kotobukiya Modeling Support Goods Minus Molds II might do the job. P111 2-6 Edited March 9, 2008 by TSP Quote
Goodman Models Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Kotobukiya Modeling Support Goods Minus Molds II might do the job. P111 2-6 Hey, I think that those are in fact screw-type access hatches. I'm not positive, but I recall seeing them being turned somewhere... Quote
ce25254 Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I've ordered a bunch of Kotobukiya parts to see which ones work the best for these in 1/72 scale. I'll report after I have the parts (some of them just shipped from HLJ after being backordered for a while, some are still on backorder). I think the best will be KBYP-113 Burner Nozzle III with an extra strip of styrene, we'll see. I think this is what maxjr used on his VF-0. Here's an illustration of the "Low-thrust vernier thruster/multipurpose hook & handle" from the illustrious Macross Mecha Manual http://www.new-un-spacy.com/sdfmacross/vf-...f-1-vernier.gif Quote
Nausica Posted March 11, 2008 Author Posted March 11, 2008 (edited) thx u guys this helped me so much!! no i just need HLJ to send it all to me xD could take some time lol! Happy Macross to you all!! "EDIT" i think the P111-3 P111-4 and P111-5 are the best suited for my needs! Edited March 11, 2008 by Nausica Quote
Nausica Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 on a second thought... on the yamato transformable models: are the Verniers stickers or done like panel lines? other than that i really hope that my Valkyrie arrives at my doorstep soon *crossed fingers* Quote
ce25254 Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I was looking at the VF-4 kit today and wondering what to do about this area. Does anybody know what are these things? Are they thrusters, similar to the handle/vernier thrusters? Thanks Quote
