QuinJester Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 The Tokyo Toy Show was mid-june, so they're still older pics unfortunately. I'm interested in seeing/hearing/knowing what other offering Bandai is considering for this line. VF-117's (if they don't make it into DX form) would be awfully nice.
TSP Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I pre-ordered mine today. Release date will be 25th September.
Zeropioneer Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 HLJ is now taking pre-orders: http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN955525
Valkyrie addict Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 40 USD scale model... uhhh.... skill level 3??? uhhh...probably gonna need a hell of a lot of work to get rid of BanDai's infamous horrible seam lines and modding to make it look half decent... guess we'll have to wait till september and then watch what can the crazy guys con hkml.net can do with it, hehe
Zeropioneer Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Hmmm HLJ states it's not a snap fit. Can't be sure of that, take this for example: http://www.hlj.com/product/KBYZD14 This is a recolor of this other item, which is a snap fit model kit: http://www.hlj.com/product/KBYZD07 Unfortunately, HLJ is not always accurate when it comes to descriptions of items not yet in stock...
eyesonme78 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 thks to you guys i gotten my orders in by HLJ saves my shipping also haha... locally seems like it's not available...
Major Focker Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 pre-ordered! for those interested in sky crawlers, their up for early bird too.
Guest sh002 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 preordered from hlj. hopefully shipping won't be that much compared to the heavier figures i buy.
MechTech Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 For those that have any doubt that Bandai is TOTALLY behind making MACROSS stuff, this picture is for you (from crunchyrole.com) But I digress... - MT
Fly4victory Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008   That picture proves that Macross is bigger than Gundam.
TSP Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 no pics of the boxes?? Maybe they want to present it at C3XHobby. There's still no Macross section in the Bandai Hobbby Site page.
biggooftoybox Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Yeah I'm kind of surprised there hasn't been too much news about it. September is just round the corner. usually toy companies would have box art up by now.
Valkyrie addict Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 haha...maybe because noone is really interested in BanDai's halfassed take on Frontier...
cobywan Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I'm interested. I'm getting two. I'll be thankfull that I'm getting anything before the show is off the air.
mickayesou Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 (edited) new pictures Edited August 13, 2008 by mickayesou
Graham Posted August 13, 2008 Author Posted August 13, 2008 Battroid and Gerwalk mode look nice, despite the somewhat unflattering Gerwalk pose. Fight mode looks not so good, but would propapbly look much better with the gear up and on a display stand. I wonder will the red and black trim be Bandai's rub on transfers (which I hate), or foil stickers (which I hate eevn more), or water slide decals, which I think Bandai hasn't used in ages. Graham
renkenjutsu Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Looks like the legs are stuck on parallel in gerwalk mode. Might have to do a knee swivel mod to make it do the A stance.
badboy00z Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Looks pretty good overall IMO. Can't wait to see the instructions and how it's put together.
Morpheus Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Beautiful, I wonder which pose is best for display.....or I have to buy three kits to display all of them
eyesonme78 Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 new pictures I took a chance and preordered from HLJ.... and to tell you the truth ME LIKE WHAT ME SEE!! MUAHAHAHAHAHHAA...!!!
Vifam7 Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 (edited) Just in case it hasn't been reported yet, Hobby Search lists some details that the kit will supposedly have. 1. Interior detail in the leg engines and cockpit 2. Perfect transformation to all 3 modes 3. Folding wings and use of a metal shaft to strengthen the transforming forward fuselage area 4. The forward fuselage's folding hinge (double jointed) will be interior hidden when in fighter mode. 5. The hips rotate in battroid mode 6. The knees will move forward and legs will splay outward for gerwalk mode 7. Landing gears and joint for use with Action Base 1 included 8. Gunpod and knife included as armament 9. Knife can be stored in the shield, canopy will be clear, 1/72 scale pilot figure included 10. Optional hands included - weapon holding hands, open hands, and dummy hands for transformed mode 11. Water slide decals and tetron? stickers included for detailing Edited August 13, 2008 by Vifam7
cool8or Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 (edited) Battroid looks, great, seems to be obvious that robot mode is priority to Bandai. Gerwalk don't looks natural, seems more like a "forced" mode, in a forced pose. Fighter still don't convince to me, because still looks chunky. But I'm glad with the canopy change, to clear color. The green one was horrible! Edited August 13, 2008 by cool8or

Vifam7 Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 (edited) Missed some details. Added them in. Edited August 13, 2008 by Vifam7

The green one should be horrible! Fighter mode looks fine to me. A bit muscular looking but then real life Tomcats look that way too (IMHO). The gerwalk mode is not properly posed with knees forward and legs splayed out.
Major Focker Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 i took a leap of faith when i blindly pre-ordered last week, so these pics are certainly encouraging. i think i'll add another one and make it a non-transforming fighter
electric indigo Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Hmm, Alto Battroid and Ozma fighter? Or Alto fighter and wait for the Ozma armor pack battroid?
Hikuro Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 ya my guess the knees don't swivle which is a bummer if thats true. then again, photographers never take accurate photos of toys...nor are they ever transformed right. Im now debating if I actually want one now...price is fine, but if its actually glue on, Ill pass...I never had success in glue on kits.
Valkyrie addict Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 hmmm...interesting...will wait reviews, hahaha
PetarB Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Is it just me, or does that pilot look a bit small. Or is this bird just huge? Very pleased they changed the canopy glass, not so happy with the landing gear, looks very toy-like.
Fly4victory Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 not so happy with the landing gear, looks very toy-like. More so that the builder did not paint them. The model looks really good and any problems with the Gerwalk can be a mod. Glad that I order but then it was only one.
electric indigo Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I think they made the landing gear extra sturdy for the toy guys transformation. Water slide decals is great news. What bothers me most is the gap around the engines at the aft of the fighter.
